Work without a GED or High school diploma?
I'm sure he could work at home depot, i've known high schoolers who worked there so he should be able to. Also any store he could probably get a job at as a cashier, clerk, or working in the back of a large store (like unloading the trucks or something). Maybe he could eventually advance to manager or assistant manager, although he'd have to figure out the specific requirements of the place he was working at cause i don't know if they require a hs diploma or GED. good luck to you two

im applying at a bank for a teller position , and of course they ask for a high school diploma , i did not finish school . is it really needed , will this not allow me to get the job ? -- my past teller positions that i have over 2 years experience in have been at check casher places so a high school diploma was asked for but they just always asked and i always said yes . . . please someone help ! !

If you quit school but then start other projects and follow through and succeed, then probably most people won't even care to ask whether you have that piece of paper or not. Just do something, show that you can work hard, and you'll do fine.And sure, without a high school diploma, your odds of receiving funding may be smaller with some venture capitalists, but life is often about beating the odds and making the best of your situation.That said, having a diploma won't hurt you. And having a college degree may even help you, especially if it's from a prestigious university like Harvard.But overall, it really depends on your individual case. What does high school or equivalent mean?
I understand what equivalent is, but the fast food jobs all say EDUCATION: HIGH SCHOOL OR EQUIVALENT and they're not supervising jobs, they're regular register jobs. So I feel like it means attending high school. Store associate and office associate jobs both say COMPLETION OF HIGH SCHOOL OR EQUIVALENT.

First, take the suggestions that you go to college with a grain of salt. It makes no sense to take out college loans for occupational skills that will barely be able to pay back the loans. If you go this route, research returns on investment for your major (is the field experiencing growth or decline? What is the average income in your area? That sort of thing).You may have to start out again at minimum wage. As long as you are willing to do the work, have reasonable levels of people skills and are reliable, you won't have to stay at minimum wage for long.
