My mother refuses to stay out and drop my personal business?
I unfortunately am stuck living at home again with my parents, and well... I have a serious problem with my mom. I'm 21 and she still doesn't get the hint to stay out of my business when something personal in my life is going on. She's ruined my relationships, my confidence ultimately, and continues to do so daily. She brings a very sensetive subject up on a DAILY basis since it's happened (which is like 4 months ago now, no lie, every single day since) and I've talked to her MANY times. It has gotten to the point where I have gotten so angry that I've shoved her away because she follows me around the house mocking me over MY personal life. Times I have straight up said "you're going to lose your daughter if you can't learn to respect my life, my choices, and HOW I handle both things" She has no life whatsoeever, she needs to be worrying about whats going on with HER life and my brother's, figuring he's growing up still and she pays no mind to raising him. I have no way of leaving the house at the moment... my dad is actually separated from her, due to how she is (I guess nothing will open her eyes to stop being such a joke to people). The problem is, she has no work, and hasnt so my dad can't kick her out to give us some peace and quiet for just ONE day. What do I do? I've mentioned therapy for her because it's da** well noticeable she needs it. She apparently cannot comprehend "drop it". I've been nice about it, rude about it... at this point, it's making me nuts. The situation right now is my ex, we broke it off and she's telling me I need to put up with the abuse pretty much. Telling me how to act with him, what to say to him... when I tell her "I'll do what I want to do, stay out of it" she usually replies with some nasty and terrible comment about me personally... Please help.

At first you will feel the gossip well up on your lips and it will be hard to hold on to, but each time you do it you will become stronger. Save your own personal stories for only people who are extremely close to you. Start a journal and instead of spewing out peoples business and your own write it down and re-read what you have written and ask yourself if you would be proud of someone else reading it. Look for only the good in others and look away from things you do not like. It will be transformational for you. It is just a decision away, that’s all it is.

Usually the "meddling" only starts when one or the other spouse invites a third party into the relationship. When the one partner goes to the family home and complains that their partner's ignoring them/too busy/too tired, or too lazy. Or they complain to work mates that they not getting what they want from the marriage.They have in effect said to those people I want to know what you would do, how you can help. They have opened the door to meddling. When a couple shows a united front, when they can and will work their problems through together, then no-one can "meddle" or come between them.
