So I declined online and have now recieved a letter today asking for me to send in my driving licence and await a fixed penalty and fine. (previous clean licence)

However now my work say they can allow me the time off as our rota has changed!!

I have tried to log back in but wont let me accept the course again as states "previous rejected course" was that my one any ony chane? Can I phone the speed awareness helpline no to ask them or does it lie with greater manchester police????

please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does intent not to prosecute mean?

Some cases are so weak as not to be able to be proved "beyond all reasonable doubt" or the complaining witness may tell the attorney's that they don't want to go forward with the case. It means an officer may have arrested you on good "probable cause" that you committed an offense, however the government attorney's have decided to drop the case against a person. So at arraignment, instead of being "charged" with the violation of a law and proceeding to trial, a person is advised that their case has been dismissed "for want of prosecution." (or in your jurisdiction the wording could be "government has no intent to prosecute, or the intent to not prosecute", different wordings for the same thing) It means the government is closing the book on the case and there will be no further investigation criminally. Doesn't protect you from a later civil case by the victim though...

Can a mobile speed camera van catch you speeding when the van itself is being driven in the next lane?

Well I was driving home from uni today, and i was doing around 34/35mph but in the lane right next to me was a mobile speed camera van driving in the opposite direction, as soon as i recognised it i did 30 again.
can a mobile speed camera van catch you even when it itself is being driven in the opposite direction?

My neighbors keep calling the police on me and falsely accusing me of criminal acts. I am afraid to go outside of my house. What do I do?

I have a neighbor that is fixated on my husband. She seemed a little off, but once she found out about his time in prison she developed a full blown obsession. She wrote the association board for our community a complaint about him slamming doors and watching her when she was outside. This was nonsense but they still had to address it with us. She wrote subsequent letters to the board stating he has a key to her car, and gains entry to turn on her radio...that he lets air out of her tires...that he's getting in her home and releasing ants...and he's poisoning the food in her refrigerator. We'd see police at her door, but they never stopped by to talk to us. One day last fall, my husband was riding his bike. This neighbor pulled her car in front of him and slammed on her brakes, causing him to fall off his bike. Her behavior was now endangering him so we went to the police to file a report. The police were helpful, and knew our neighbor well. Apparently she'd filed lots of police reports about my husband and a few other men from the neighborhood. The police recognized she has mental health issues and never pursued her later complaints. So what can you do? Try to have your cell phone ready to record if you think your neighbor will confront you. Keep a cool head, there's nothing wrong with not engaging in an argument. Don't be afraid to talk to the police to see what your options are if you're being harassed. You don't want to end up on the wrong side of this problem.UPDATE: my local police department reached out to the neighbour's daughter, the daughter called my husband to apologize and let him know she will be intervening in a medically supervised care program for her mother. She made sure he has her contact info should we have any problems. I give her all the credit in the world, she was wonderful and it's great that she wants to be involved in her care! Here's hoping my neighbor gets back on track.

Have you ever accidentally walked out of a store with merchandise not paid for? Did anyone challenge you?

I probably owe my school at least $150.Let me tell you the story of my innocent thievery and water smuggling.I’m one of those students who change schools every year because of whatever reason their parents keep getting fired. I thought it was going to end because I’ve stayed in Michigan for about three years, but turns out, I was going to move to North Carolina. As we all know, schools charge beverages at an inordinately high price because students are pretty easily tricked. What got my attention however is that everyone seemed to have a bottle of water so my initial perception was that this particular school offers them for free.Of course, I asked the cafeteria staff member whether or not the bottle of water was free.“Is the bottle for free?”“Yes, the bottle is for a fee.”No, there wasn’t a typo. Turns out the staff member thought that I have asked whether the bottle was for a FEE, and that I thought that she said the bottle was FOR FREE.So one day, after at least four months of smuggling water, she caught me taking the water without charge and I was sent swiftly to the principal’s office.Thankfully, I was a good student so she dismissed the issue without having me pay for the hundred dollars worth of water I stole.

How man mph above the speed limit will trigger a speed camera?

It all depends on how the responsible authority has set the camera. As already pointed out, in the UK there’s a tolerance of ten per cent plus 2mph applied generally to take account of possible speedometer error. But it’s only a guideline from ACPO, the Association of Chief Police Officers, and it’s not specifically enshrined in law. They don’t always, but if a local authority or police force decides to set the device to activate at just 1mph over the limit, that seems harsh but strictly it is legal. It’s then up to the inspector in charge to examine the photographic evidence and decide whether to send an NIP (Notice of Intended Prosecution) to the registered keeper of the vehicle. However, by and large this no-tolerance approach doesn’t yet seem to be the norm, but there are dark mutterings that the day may soon come.Of course I can only answer for my own country, the United Kingdom, within which at time of writing there is as described some slight variation in tolerance. I have little or no idea how other countries and jurisdictions apply their own rules.
