Well, received a text from almost a stranger.Okay So let's call this person XYZ.XYZ is one of my Instagram follower. And also a family friend of one of my close friend.Today, I randomly got a text from XYZ:XYZ: hey, can you help me?Me(thinking it must be something related to my close friend): sayXYZ: Can you give me some cash, it's urgent.Me ( completely surprised as such we barely know each other and thinking it's a mistake or something) : sorry?(Expecting him to reply why he needs money and why can't he ask anyone else?)Here is the screenshot.XYZ : why, what happened?Now completely baffled by this I contacted my close friend and asked her about this. To which she replied don't give anything. How can I send a text and not show my number but use someone else's number as the sender?

You cannot do that. And don't bother with the apps that say you can because they do not work, your number will still show up.The only thing I would suggest is to go with one of the text for free apps online. With those it will come up a different number than your number. And you can remain anonymous.But I do believe most of them will add "sent from Text-em" or "sent from Text4Free" on the bottom of the text. And you can change your voice, so the possibilities are endless as to what number you want to show up when you call the person. He of course was skeptical, but when he reverse looked up the number that called him, it was actually from the lottery office. So, I'm not sure but I think he went to the lottery office the next day to try to retrieve his winnings.My boyfriend at the time, used the police department number and called a friend to tell him he was under investigation. This happened during my first year in undergrad. But this story needs some background. So, please be with me.Pretty early in the first year of my college, I started liking a girl in my batch. I used to talk to her over the phone. One evening, after returning from my college, I called her. She didn't talk to me well in that call. I got a little upset. So, I shared my disappointment with a friend. That friend told me to call her again next day and honestly ask if something had happened.So, I called the girl next day afternoon. It was a holiday, and we didn't go to college. I asked her if anything was wrong. She casually said that she was just tired after a long tiring day at college. That's why her voice was sounding a little low. Pretty normal phenomenon!Now, I got re-energized, even with this normalcy. I instantly typed a text, “Hey, everything is fine. She was just tired, that's why she was speaking like that. See you tomorrow!” I wanted to send that to my friend who was suggesting me last night. However, I mistakenly sent this text to the girl.There is no “undo” option in text/SMS. Just after the delivery-report of the SMS came to my phone, I realized my mistake. I was shocked! I quickly called back the girl. But she didn't pick up. I tried a few more times. But she didn't pick up. And she never did, eventually!In hindsight, it's better that she did not pick up my call, because my liking turned out to be pretty different than what it used to be in my immature late-teenage.

Can you tell when someone has turned notifications off for your messages on Facebook Messenger?

Yes you are able to do so when you attempt sending the message and are notified that the messaging option for that person has been turned off for you.This means that your friend on FB has gone into their messaging options  and selected the wheel icon located in message  box with the message/chat history the two of you have exchanged on prior messages or on top of the blank box that pops up when you select their name to start a chat or message (blank because you have never sent or received in the message/chat format) and your friend has selected block message for you. And when they pick that option on the wheel icon you will be notified they have indeed selected that at some point when you attempt to send them a message and are notified the option has been turned of for ...you.
