How can I sell old coins?

First, you need to understand that billions of coins were produced. Many type of metals were used - zinc, copper, bronze, silver, gold and mixture of metals. If you have U.S. coins, they are more valuable to the American collectors. Foreign coins are not valued as highly in the U.S.identify what coin you have - country of origin, denomination, and most importantly the date it was minted. More importantly, find out how many pieces were minted. In U.S. , an old coin from Denver mint, with a “D” marking is more common than “S” , San Francisco mint. The “S” always bring more money.then grade the coin - they range from junk to mint, in the U.S., the highest grading is MS-70 , proof coin. It takes a lot of experience to grade accurately, so unless the coin is worth thousands, you probably don’t want to spend $100 getting it certified. So a local dealer is your friend in this case. The same coin graded average vs mint can mean hundreds of dollars in differencenow, you can get on eBay to see how much people are asking for it, then look at Completed Sales to see how much they ACTUALLY sold for.now you can either list it on eBay, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc. or you can sell it to a coin dealer for about 20% of retail value.Remember that just because a coin is “rare” , it doesn’t mean that people pay big money for it. Collectors change directions all the time, and timing matters.so, what coin do you have??

How and where to sell old coins?

There are many places to sell coins. Depending on;How Many Minted ? If there were only 100 they are probably more valuable the 3000000.Where they are from ? An example would be a specific mint in a specific country. This adds value if it is rarer or more collectible.Period in time they are from ? An example here would be Civil war in United States they are highly collectibleMaterial Content ? Gold, Silver, Bronze At this point in time gold and silver prices have dropped so I would not recommend selling them at this time.If they are worth having graded to ad value ? Are they damaged or poor quality ? Is it rare to a mistake made by the minting process ?Providence? Did this coin belong to a royal family and can you prove it,Ebay and Etsy are common places to sell coins. If it is really rare I would recommend grading and a private auction house. The nice thing about coins is that your give them to someone (say your children) before you die you can save them from being taxed by government in your estate.I have an Etsy shop and it definitely works well for my coin sales. What is the value of an old Elger guitar?

Not enough info , not by a long shot.
Is it an electric guitar, or acoustic ? What is the model number and SN?

Elgers were originally hand-made acoustic instruments built for a music store in PA for a short time- but the name quickly became the first importer of what eventually became Ibanez. Only the hand-built acoustics have any special value, any of the imports...while some are pretty good guitars, are really not that collectible and therefore have not appreciated very much. If one of those , it'll be worth hundreds to low thousands.. but not what I'd consider "very valuable" like a vintage Martin or Gibson. Cool axe to have in your collection though - I'd hang on to it.

Where do I find out the value of a 1902 Indian head penny?

The 1902 Indian head cent is not a scarce date is worth about $1 to $2.35 in circulated grades good-very fine. It is worth more if in mint state. A grade good coin, the liberty on the head band is worn off. In very fine the word liberty is complete but may show even wear. Not all old coins have great value. They are all historic and their value lies in that fact. The Indian head cent as well as the Buffalo nickel are true American coins with no European influence. The above values are about what a coin dealer would pay. At least you have a coin that in its day could actually buy something by itself.

Can someone give me some advise on coin collecting. I live in a small town and just have a couple small banks. Please advise on EVERYTHING that you can tell me that relates to coin collecting?

Collectable Coins is not only a hobby… it’s an investment. Every coin that you add to your collection will only gain value over the years. There are several steps to keep in mind in collecting coins. The first thing to do is figure out what type of coins you’re interested in collecting. Several people collect coins based on different things that interest them, such as the year the coin was made, the artwork on the coin, coins that circulated for a short time, or historically significant coins. Another tip is to do a lot of research before buying coins. Seek the advice from people who are already in the coin business or from people who work for reputable coin shops. Researching and understanding exactly the type of coin you’re looking for can possibly save you thousands of dollars.
