Ok, so the first question that really begs to be asked is this……how are you so sure that this “professor” is intentionally giving negative markings to this “student”?Do you have proof that this professor is doing so intentionally and can you prove it?orIs this a hunch/feeling?Be sure before you do anything, try if possible if you can get this ‘students’ photocopy of the answer-sheet to the internal exams and have the same reviewed/examined by another professor, if it turns out that the markings are justified then just tell your ‘student’ friend to study more harder next time.(marks do not identify intelligence dude)If it happens to turn out that the marks originally given by this mean “professor” was incorrect have this defect brought to the notice of the HOD (Head of Department) and/or Institution Head.If the above suggestion happens to fails, then and only then should you consider first tendering a legal notice on the educational institution and the professor and then if that fails then as a last resort a police complaint.You don't really want to involve legal complications because most often times educational institutions would rather support their own professors and label the students as rogue if there is no proof to support the students allegations.Be humble and try to identify the true source of the problem with proof before you go looking for something that may have actually never been there in the first place to begin with.
What is the procedure for filing a complaint against a professor at IIT Bombay?
Viral Hepatitis it was, I was suffering from a type of jaundice soon after I joined IITB and was admitted to the IITB Hospital, and my Mid-semesters were about to start but I wasn't able to recover till then and had to miss 2 exams of mine. After being in hospital for 2–3 weeks or so I forced them to discharge me because I wasn't feeling good at all being on same bed all day for weeks, I thought slight change might help me recover soon, this was one of the reason and the major one was that I didn't know what will they do in my case, they'll take a re-exam or not. I took discharge the same day, and next day was my Physics Exam. I slept well the previous night and on the exam day I really wasn't able to wake up, vomitted and eyes started paining and so I wasnt able to give my exam.Now there's a thing called “pink slip” which is to be submitted as proof to prove you were actually ill. And in my case the pink slip was only till the day before my Physics exam, but it was clearly written over it that even though I was discharged, I need atleast 1 week of rest. But the professer Mohammed Aslam who was not my professor but was the one who was asking for pink slip, because my professor S. Umasankar was new and used to get out of my condition claiming he was new and knew nothing. So this professor Aslam gave me a ZERO in Mid-semesters just because the pink slip was just till the day before exam. And for the whole semester I kept on mailing these two profs to meet, who kept on putting my case over each other and most of the times they don't even used to mail me back. And soon the grades were finalised and they say its hard to change it after they get finalised. I even tried again in 2nd semester to talk to any of the two professors to explain my situation, but now they don’t even remember me who I was!!
My professor failed me?
That won't hold up. Take the issue to the dean. He can review the story. Even if the professor lies, your paper can be proofread by the dean and other professors to justify or reverse the grade. Of course, if it is still failure work or if, perhaps, there is something you didn't understand about the necessity of turning in other projects, which may also be info detailed in the syllabus, then it is possible that the professor will still have grounds to fail you. But college campuses and universities have a hierarchy like that for a reason. You can go to the dean

Teacher refused to allow me to make up a test and allowed other students to make up the same test. I've emailed him twice and he ignored me both times. Should I file a complaint against him? That is what you get when you have some creepy person calling you up saying they want to murder you, chop you up into bits and send the parts to your parents everyday (that's why a friend of mine had to get one). Because you have a piss poor teacher they would just laugh. Also- FYI not hard to figure out you are the 16 year old. Try talking to your teacher. Show him your notes, explain your study habits and see if he can offer suggestions on how you can do better. Find out exactly what he wants you to do on assignments and tests. Ultimately You are going to have to deal. In my college class I have a professor who is a crass as can be- he tried to convince us he brought a sample of his semen to class... His lectures are disjointed and don't make much sense. His tests are crazy hard for an introductory non-major class. It sucks I have a 78 in his class currently and have only one test left to bring my grade up to a B. I stress about my grades because I need to go to Grad school to get the degree I need to practice psychology. Grades are not everything to colleges. You don't need a 4.0 to go to a "good" school.
