Only 3 Layers In My Hair Help

Can I cut my hair to just one layer?

I am 14 and I have about 3 layers in my hair and i have side bangs. I hate having layers because they are so hard to maintain and i will be getting my hair cut soon so i wanted to know if its possible to make my hair only one layer without make it shorter?? I still want to keep my bangs but just take the long layers out of the back of my hair.

How to curl layered hair?

It all depends on what curler you're using.

A Curler: Go by layers. Section your hair by how many layers you have... (if you have more than 3 just do it in 3 sections).

A Wand: Curl it all together. It's made for that purpose anyways.

A Straightener: You can curl it however you want but i like to just curl it by ONLY 2 SECTIONS. No matter how much layers someone has, 2 section curls for a straightener always works, in my opinion.

Tip:
-If you want to curl your bangs, curl it starting half way then flip it in to make a cute little poof to go with your curls.
-Section out about 1/2 an inch of hair that frame your face and curl it AWAY from your face. For example the section of hair on the left of your face, you turn it left to curl. It just looks much nicer.

Good Luck!

How to get "Pointy Ends" Layered Hair.?

I am 14, I have hair cutting shears.
I've been cutting my hair 3+yrs & learned trial & error (the hard way.)
I've never been to a salon before & dont tell me to go to one.
I need some tips on how to cut my blunt hair into edgy pointy layers?
I have 3 layers but my 2nd &3rd one blend in more than my 1st one.
My 1st one has grown out to the middle of my neck its blunt & thick.
I dont want to thin it cause the thickness gives me body .
HOW DO I MAKE IT POINTYYYYY ! :O

Thnx.♥

How do I dye the top layer of my hair?

pick up all the layers your going to bleach then tie them up then tie the bottom layers up lean over your bath or shower, where ever your dying and pull the top layers out of the hair tie, then just die them like normal, and when youve died them tie them back up loosely* then you could just put a towel over the top of the bottom layers so nothing comes out of the top layers onto the bottom ones

* so that no dye squeezes out, because then the colour would be patchy :)

and just follow the instructions, they will tell you how long to leave it on for, but when i did it, it was 40 minutes :)

good luck! :) x

The top layer of my hair is extremely frizzy?

I'm desperate for a frizz remedy! My hair is curly/wavy and it about mid back length. I used to have layers but they are growing out. I only wash my hair about 2 to 3 times a week, but I always condition it. My hair is definitely damaged from flat ironing it, but I've decided to embrace my natural hair. My hair has always been frizzy on top. When I blow dry, air dry, or go to sleep with damp hair the top layer of my hair always looks dreadfully frizzy but the layers underneath are always soft, silky, and shiny. I've tried several gels, mousses, frizz creams, leave-in conditioners, and even coconut oil. I've resorted to braiding my hair when it's damp and putting it in a bun before I go to bed, but when I wake up in the morning (8-9 hours later) my hair is still damp because it's so thick and it just gets frizzy. It's always the frizziest in the back towards the middle and my crown. I've noticed that the back of my hair near the middle and the crown is also curlier than everywhere else.

So basically, what can I do to stop the top layer of my hair from being so frizzy on the outer layer? Nothing seems to work, I really want to be able to wear my natural hair without worrying about monstrous frizz. I wish all of my hair was like the middle and bottom layers.

Tons of layers on one side, and only a few on the other... how do I fix this?

So I got a haircut yesterday, and today as I was straightening out my hair with a straightening iron, I noticed that there are tons of short layers on my right side and only 2 or 3 long layers on my left side. I'm guessing that some of this has to do with the way that I part my hairline to the far left, and the hairstylist just cut my hair straight, disregarding my hairline. So thus, when I part my hair, all the layers end up on my right side. (Does that make any sense? Sorry, I fail at explaining things.)
Now I have a big chunk of layers on the right side of my head. :/ I really don't want to part my hair down the center, because that looks awful and my side bangs look odd that way, but it also looks awful with a pile of layers on one side of my head.
How can I fix it? Ack!
Any help is much appreciated.

Since I haven't gotten my haircut in about 2 years, my mom is making me go get it cut this weekend. She talked to my hairdresser and she said I probably have 3 or more inches of split ends. So I have to cut more than three inches off. How should I cut it? Please don't recommend anything shorter than my shoulders. thanks <3

Bad Perm!!! Need help before I shave my head!?

Please dont keep that bleached out, over permed, dry, damaged hair on your head. It would take a lot of effort and a lot of conditioning on a daily/weekly basis to make it look and feel semi-good. And how long do you want to hang on to bad hair? You should try to look your best as often as you can.

I dont agree with the rest of the posters on getting layers, that would only cut off -some- of the damaged hair. So your hair would look about 3/4 good...

Get your make-over on girl! Cut it short and choppy all over, use a little hair product for a bed-head effect and you are done. You could really save time on getting ready in the AM too...!!!

Its hair anyway, it'll grow back, right?! Have fun!

Does hair dye damage the hair?

Yes. Haircolor damages hair. Depending on how exactly you define damage. Haircolor lifts the cuticle, altering the hair in a way that will never completely revert back to it’s natural virgin state. Hair that grows from the scalp will grow out normally with only the hair that has been dyed being effected. The benefits of this “damage” are that you have a beautiful new color and your hair may be a little fuller and voluminous. The detriments are that your hair may need to be trimmed a bit sooner. The damage resulting from haircolor is cumulative (as in the number of haircolors/processes performed and the age of the hair, heat styling, etc).A professional stylist can color your hair in a way that damage is beneficial and not heartbreaking.
