Outline Of Chapters In Mcdougal Littel World History Textbook

Which book is better for UPSC world history, Arjun Dev or Norman Lowe?

Norman Lowe :-PROSBest among world history book.Extensive coverage of all topicLucid language.Cover Arab crisis and some topics of recent incident.Able to understand little bit world politics.CONSAmerican view/perspective.Very bulky hence want more effort for revision and notes making.Starts from first world war, earlier part is missing which is important like industrial revolution, renaissance etc.American view hence include some unnecessary thing.Arjun Dev :-PROSThin.Easy for revision and to make notes.Lucid language.Indian view.CONSvery less coverage.only covers till NAM.Start from first world war so earlier part is missing.Suggestion from my side :-Buy any coaching material(here any coaching material can work like of vision, vajiram, balyan etc.) on world history from photostat shop in old rajendra nagar, delhi. Read that material, learn that and makes notes out of it. If you are from delhi then you can get that easily if not then google photostat shop in delhi for ias and order them for material(they have courier service). If you have more interest in world history then you can buy Norman lowe. Read that carefully or selectively. Read this book prior to 4 month of prelims but not in between pre and mains. If you read this book prior to prelims then just revise those chapter which you read, before mains. No need to make notes out of it.If you are not satisfied with coaching material then you can buy B V RAO or JAIN & MATHUR. But make your study material short and simple so that you can revise easily. So no need any material other than coaching material and norman lowe.

It contains many types of details that the others don't on all kinds of topics related to European history.FINDING WORLD HISTORY This one is a thorough index of good websites on history, mostly world.UH - Digital HistoryAll types of resources on specific American history topics.

Is mcdougal littell world history atlas a reliable source?

Hi

In my search for finding few ways of learning about history (general knowledge level) I found this book: McDougal Littell World History: Patterns of Interaction. link: http://www.amazon.com/McDougal-Littell-W...

I saw it in a shop and from the size and layout it seemed as an encyclopedia, so if I buy it I would use it as a reference (read what I need)

But because I am very new to this (in that I know nothing about history) I was wondering if you think is work me buying this book and investing time on it (a found a cheap copy, I just need to know if is worth spending time reading though it)

Thanks so much
