Pain After Ear Piercing

Ear piercing, jaw pain?

personally, - i dont think that it has much to do with your ear piercing, though if your ear piercings are rather new, then it is a possibility that they could be causing extra pain,
i have my ear's pierced 6 times, and i also have ear stretcher's size '14. i also have the top cartlidge of my ears pierced twice.
when i first got my ears pierced, and i slept on them ... it caused servere pain, but aberable pain.
it made either one side of my head throb or the other, and i would have an aching neck or possibley a head ache,

- i wouldnt be to concerned. it should hopefully calm down after a while, once your ears have got used to the shock of having a needle through its lobe!

Chest pain after ear piercing?

it could just be a rush of adrenaline from getting the piercing, if it continues, you might want to talk to a doctor...

Why do I feel pain in an ear piercing?

It is perfectly natural to experience pain after an ear piercing. This pain can last between 4-6 weeks for earlobe piercings and up to 3-6 months for cartilage piercings. If you're experiencing pain after the said period, it's best to seek medical attention or maybe change your earrings to nickel free earrings for sensitive ears. Nickel free earrings are hypoallergenic in nature and help prevent skin irritations & infections. Hope this helps.

Ear piercing hurts after a week?

If your piercings were infected you'd have darker yellow/green pus that usually has an odor to it. Soreness is completely normal throughout the healing process. They might be sore for a few more days, they might be sore off and on the entire healing time. Lobe piercings take 2-3 months to heal completely when done properly with a hollow needle, 4-6 months when done with a piercing gun as they cause excessive trauma. An infected piercing should never be removed until the infection has cleared up.

Make sure you're keeping them clean by doing sea salt soaks twice a day for 5-10 minutes each soak with 1/4th of a teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt to 8oz of hot water. Stop touching your piercings, there is no reason to be touching them and you definitely don't want to twist or rotate them. If you were pierced with a piercing gun you really should get to a reputable piercer and get proper jewelry put in.

What should I do if my ear piercing hurts 3 months after I got it?

It might be an infection in your piercing. I just recently got a ear piercing infection. How you know is by taking out the back of your earring(but dont take out the actual earring itself) look at the back of your piercing and if it is infected it will be a little blue. If you are comfortable with doing this following thing you can, you can take out the actual earring and feel your earlobe. If it feels like it has a lump inside of it, it is infected. I dont reccomend doing this but you can if you want. Have an adult help you though. If your ear turns out to be infected i would buy a piercing cleaner form anywhere or just leave it alone. Make sure your earring that is currently in your ear is real. If the earring is fake it can irritate your ear. DO NOT take out your piercing, because if its infected, the infection can possibly close up the whole, it almost happened to me. Don't worry about going to the doctor yet, if it is like absolute pain that you cant stand then yes you should but if not, just wait and see what happens.

My ear piercing still hurts after 6 weeks?

Totally normal. I had my ears pierced before I was really old enough to handle the pain and they HURT. I saw the doctor about it but they said it was perfectly normal and the pain would eventually go away. I ended taking my earrings out and letting them grow back. But hang in there, because I really want to get my ears pierced again and if you let yours grow back you will too.

I’ve had this piercing for about 2 years now and it still hurts to touch or sleep on sometimes. Now, I have a bump or a bubble (it seems) and my ear is swollen, red, super sore and throbbing or burning. What do I do?

2 years is a long time for something to be hurting. I had three piercings in my cartilage many many years ago, and it was fine for a couple years, but then I got those bumps and ended up taking them out and letting the holes close up. Then, about 5 years ago or so, I got another part of my cartilage pierced a little lower than the first one. I got it done at Claire's, which was a bad idea. They clean the studs, but I don't think they ever clean the gun. But anyway, that particular piercing got infected right away, I asked opinions on what to do. I ended up using peroxide and putting in a solid gold earring, and just left that in there, till the hole healed. And I've made sure to only use white gold or yellow gold in that particular earring hole, and so far no problems. I originally got it pierced with titanium, which was probably a bad idea. I’ve really only been able to wear gold earrings in any of my ear holes. Some people can't wear anything but gold, and I'm one of them. So depending on what you have in your ears right now you could try switching it over to gold, or letting them close up, or I would suggest a tattoo/piercing place, that has more education on the subject.

What can be used topically for ear piercing pain, after piercing(48 hrs)?

You can try ice. But when I used to pierce ears we recommended putting anbesol (yup, the tooth ache medicine)on the ear lobe to help numb the pain.
