Pain On Top Of Arm Help

Pain in upper left arm?

I'm 18 years old and had an Echocardiogram 2 days ago saying my heart was completely fine. EKGs came out great too. I don't do anything unhealthy but could use more exercise, do have anxiety.

But I have had this reoccurring sharp left upper arm pain that has no other symptoms for hours. I was sitting down and suddenly stood up feeling anxious with sweaty hands.

Is this carpal, or something?

Right Upper Arm pain?

I would try massaging the upper arm with a ball. A tennis ball or a baseball softball works nicely. Put the ball in between A Wall and your upper arm. then Massage/Roll up and down the arm by bending your knees... That works to untwist the Myofacial muscles which in all likelihood is what causes most upper arm pain... This process can Hurt, But in my Opinion Its Not working if its not hurting. It hurts because those deep muscles are tangled and twisted. You have to Untwist them... and that process Hurts! For a while anyway... You should feel relief within minutes of doing these techniques...At Least thats what I do for upper arm problems when I play to much tennis. Myofacial muscles have a lot to do with Hip & Lower back pain as well... Deep Acupressure can alleviate most if not all of those problems... You can see those techniques in Videos I will be producing in the near future... Right Now I'm Concentrating on how to Kill Bunions Naturally. If this advise helps you, please go to my website at BunionBusters.Org... and Email Me or you can just put it in my testimonial blog... I am trying to show people all kinds of techniques to Alleviate Pain...

Can gas cause pain in your arm?

Yes, it can. But WHY?When our knee hurts, we know it's not a problem with our elbow, so how does gas cause pain in a different place, like your arm? This is because the insides of our body are not “wired” neurally for pain in the same way as the outside of our body is.It makes sense that when we encounter something in the world that could hurt us, it can cause pain in that part of our skin where we touch it, whether it be something sharp, crushing, hot, etc.But there is really no biological need to have this sense perception for pain on the inside of our body. You’ve never burned your spleen on a hot stove, or cut your lung with a shaving razor. Therefore, the sensory nerves inside our body are much more diffuse. That is, it's much harder to tell where things are. When your stomach or side hurts, it's often a blunt or vague feeling that covers an area. It's not like if someone pokes you on the ribs from the outside with their finger, then you know exactly where it is.This, therefore, leads to referred pain. That is, pain that moves around into different places from its source. In the case of gas, the stomach has stretch receptors that can sense how much it is being filled up.It is these stretch receptors that you sense when you feel full after eating and drinking. When there is gas in there, the stretch receptors are really getting activated because the gas is taking up space. And it is these stretch receptors that send out signals throughout the inside of your abdomen and even into your chest, in this kind of diffuse, referred pain way.So since these nerves are not structured to give your brain an exact map of where things are, in the same way that nerves on TOP of your skin can, signals just go all over, and you can feel pain from gas pressure is weird places like your arm, chest, back, neck, etc.If you liked this answer, click the light blue button below so more people will see this on Quora.

Upper arm muscle pain?

You may have a repetitive strain type injury from holding your new baby with that arm, or from physical activity of using that arm repeatedly if you hold your baby in the other arm as you're doing stuff.
I would bet that you hold your baby long enough for one or more muscles to fatigue and have developed trigger points that cause pain and dysfunction. Try this: put your fingers on the spot that hurts, fold your arm on top of your fingers, and then straighten your arm while holding or rubbing where you hurt. If it intensifies when you straighten your arm, you've found a way to calm it down. If the pain is higher on the arm, just below the shoulder, try reaching your arm straight behind you while pressing fingers onto the sore spot.
Repeat several times, explore the painful spot with finger tips, and notice when you hold your baby if that makes it worse. If it does get worse when holding your baby, you've found the probable cause of the pain. You can't stop holding your baby, right? So, just add stretching and rubbing, and using the other arm sometimes to lessen the problem.
If that doesn't help, post more info and I'll follow up.
It is important you ask your doctor about the situation, and might be helpful to find a forum online for other new mothers and the pains they are having.

Upper arm tattoo pain question?

My first tattoo was 4 hours and it was my right upper arm. The only problem that I had....was the collarbone area. I went way up (Dragon head) and it's part on my shoulder, arm, and collarbone area. The collarbone hurt because it vibrated on my bones and it was loud in my ear. Otherwise...the tattoo wasn't that bad. The inner areas of the tattoo were annoying and pinchy. On a scale of 1-10...I'd say about a 5 or 6 in some spots. I didn't mind the pain though. I used to be a cutter so...it really didn't bother me. Tattoo pain is nothing once you are used to it. You get numb after a while. Make sure you control your breathing and don't tense up. If you sit as calm as you can...it'll hurt much less. Good Luck. Also, talk during it...try to take your mind of off it, but don't move while they do it. Don't laugh either lol. My friend was talking and distracting me and I forgot I was even in the chair haha

Really, the only thing that bothered me was how long it took...because it was my first my mind and body weren't used to it. By the 4th hour...it was so sore. The wiping/cleaning became more painful than the actual needles. On a positive note, the worst part of the tattoo in general is the itchiness haha. =)

Also, so you don't have another surprise...when they do on the inner and outer sides...it's gunna feel like they are tattooing under your armpit lol. It's an odd feeling, but it's not too bad.

How painful is getting a tattoo on your arm?

It depends on which part of the arm you are getting tattooed on. I got my upper inner arm tattooed on December 2, 2016.As the tattoo artist worked his way into the more inner part of my arm (closer to the armpit), the more painful it became. And that’s only natural because the skin near the armpits are way more sensitive. It is also where a major nerve called the axillary nerve (the one transmitting sensory information around shoulder, spine and upper arms) is located. What I’ve often heard is that it will hurt less to get it on the wrist or the lower arm rather than the upper inner parts of the arm. But all in all, for me the pain was still manageable. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate it a 6. Everyone has different pain tolerance. How painful are upper arm tattoos?

Pffffft. I mean, yeah, tattoos hurt, but upper arm? Yawn.On the upper arm the most tender spots I've found are the point of the shoulder and the inside of the arm. But compared to ribs, spine, inner thigh, chest… bunches of other places, upper arm is a snooze fest.

What causes chest pain, upper back pain and left arm pain with tingling and numbness and cold fingers?

Many a times, chest pain does not indicate a MI or cardiac arrest. Simple vitamin deficiencies can cause tingling and numbness. Wrong posture can cause tingling and numbness. Apparent, unrelated conditions like an acute gastritis or reflux esophagitis can present with chest pain/tightness too. There are multiple factors considered by the physician before giving the diagnosis, like age, sex, habits of smoking and alcohol intake, co-morbid conditions like diabetes, hypertension, family history of early age deaths due to cardiac disease.

Upper arm/shoulder pain?

What your describing sounds like a stinger, also called a burner or nerve pinch injury. It is a neurological injury suffered by athletes, mostly in high-contact sports. The injury is always a spine injury as opposed to more serious spinal cord injuries. It is characterized by a shooting or stinging pain that travels down one arm, followed by numbness and weakness. Neuritis, bursitis, neuralgia, rheumatism, frozen shoulder, fibrositis, sprains, strains, “poor circulation” and rotator cuff problems are some of the terms used to describe neck, shoulder and arm conditions. The nerves that come out of the middle and lower neck and upper back, go into the shoulder arm and hand. Chiropractic can be a beneficial treatment for patients seeking noninvasive relief. Typically, the chiropractic treatment for a shoulder and neck injury includes low force manipulation of the affected shoulder, as well as mobilsation of the upper spine. A spinal adjustment involves applying gentle, low force mobilisation to the affected joints. The chiropractor may also advise the patient to rest the affected arm, apply cold to reduce inflammation and perform appropriate stretches depending on the individual.
