Painting My Bedroom Walls Blue

What should I paint on my bedroom wall?

I would paint the whole room first with light blue with a hint red or purple. Usually blues, greens promote a cool peaceful feel but also cool or cold. Having a lighter tint gives a more spacious feel and not as cold. Adding a warm color either in paint or accents warms it up. I would consider on the bed backboard side to paint a night scene, maybe even like just after sunset with a horizon line a little more than half way up the wall with the lower part being a darker tone of the same color as the rest of the room. At the horizon a slightly irregular up and down shadowy line or trees or buildings. Take in mind that the mind tends to go left to right and a decline is more relaxed than an incline. You could even use a favorite quote about sleep, rest or peace as the horizon line in a relaxed font of course. You don’t want an even or too straight of line for the horizon as the eye follows it too fast though and out of the scene. Above the horizon depending on how subtle you want to be, you could add some red or yellow, especially where the sun was and you could reflect it in a few hazy clouds. You could check out the evening sky for inspiration and then put some stars and the moon if you want and maybe some more clouds. Keep any focal point out of the corners but make them also a bit off center. If you want this to be subtle use tones that are close and don't put a lot of objects in which could make it look busy. I'm taking into account that you have some painting skills so have fun and start simple and go as far with it as you want. I've always thought of doing a picture of ghost riders in the sky because I like Johnny Cash’s version of that song but that's a bit dark of a subject for a bedroom. Have fun.

Is painting your bedroom blue against the law ?

no it is not, I'm assuming your a young child and your parents told you this to keep your from doing it, they lied.

I'm painting my room gray with a white and gray accent wall. My furniture is brown. Will that still look good, and what color bedding should I get?

Good choice. Grey is never in fashion, never out of fashion. Doorways, doors like good in grey, and you may use a greyish white or a lite grey with a darker tone. I tried all of the above and never regretted it. The colour fades well, it just turns a paler shade of the original tone  but any grey is grey, right?Of course it goes well with brown or wood furniture. A darker grey, like charcoal will be best with light brown, but you cannot go wrong with brown furniture and white and grey walls. As to colour combinations, grey is easy to combine. My favourite, be it in personal apparel or in bedclothes, is light pink and any grey but very dark ones. Pink and grey seem to illuminate and reflect on each other and they blend perfectly. Violet is also good, as are oxblood and light to middle blue.I am a male and decorated family homes, law offices, government chambers or my own pied à terre in some cases. Therefore, I never had the occasion of combining grey with the shade of green that the French call vert amande, or almond green, the English word for which escapes me. It's about the green that you find in Easter Almonds or eggs, if you go for that sort of tradition is your part if the world. I believe light grey and vert amande will make an exceptional match. Powder blue should work well with light to middle greys too.

What color should I paint my bedroom walls? (teen girls)?

Why don't you try a pattern rather than a specific color? Like maybe two colors of pink and sponge paint one over the other. Or even getting a pattern to trace on your wall. You could make the pattern black and white to match your comforter. A cute design could incorporate a couple of your colors, rather than just one.

What color would you choose to paint the walls of your room?

Honestly, colors can do wonders. The trick is to know where to apply which color. First, let’s brush up our basics again.Since wall paint is relatively cheap, choose your furnishings first and then your wall color. For every room, choose one light, one bright and one dark color, from a monochromatic scheme to instill a mix of values within your color pattern. The color wheel helps you decide between complementary color scheme and analogous color scheme for each room. While the former involves colors that are away from each other on the wheel and are more suited for living room or dining room, known to be the more formal areas of any house; the latter, works around colors that are adjacent to each other on the wheel and are known to be more relaxing and soothing, thus befitting bedroom walls.Whatever your choice of color scheme may be, always opt for a dark brown/black accessory viz lampshade or photo frame, to enhance the look of a room.Maintain a color pattern for each room. For example you could use a lampshade of the same color in your bedroom that has been used to paint your living room walls. Try to maintain such a similarity within all rooms.Paint a metallic glaze, viz copper or bronze atop any existing painted item, providing it with an amazing sheen.White or any color that has white in it is known to reflect all colors that surround it, thus making the room brighter.Warm colors like red to yellow, brown and tans, advance towards the eye and appear more active while cool colors like blue green to blue violet and grey, tend to recede, thus evoking a cooler and subtle response.Choosing a wall color combination in accordance with your mood and persona is extremely important. Now let’s take a look at what general colors indicate:Red: indicates high energy and creates a strong impressionIdeal for: Living room or dining roomYellow: is cheery and conveys happinessIdeal for: Kitchen, dining room and bathroomsBlue: is soothing, relaxing and serene.Ideal for: Bedrooms and bathroomsGreen: is an amazing blend of freshness and cheerfulnessIdeal for: BedroomsPurple: is associated with luxury and creativity.Ideal for: BedroomsOrange: is an energetic color that evokes excitement and enthusiasm.Ideal for: Bedrooms and work-out roomHope this helps!

What color should I paint My Pirate Room walls?

I just bought a house, and I want my bedroom to be the CAPTAINS QUARTERS, like on a pirate ship. I have everything organized except for what the walls should look like.

Ive been researching on the internet, and everyone basically says something like blues and yellow work, cause of the ocean, but I hate that Idea, and I wanted to go more green I think (and more personal). Someone suggested like fake wood panels or something.

But if you look at like captain hook or the black pearls captains quarters they aren't anything like what everyone's suggesting. I was thinking something elegant or Victorian.
What do you think?

Can i paint over blue with pink paint?

or will i have to go over the walls in white first?

My daughters bedroom is a blue in colour. I want to paint it pink (paint is called fizz pink) and its one of those paints that only needs one coat.

Do you think i will have to go over it with white first or will it be ok to just paint over it in pink?

Blue isnt dark, neither is it baby blue. More of a sky blue

Is there a way I can make my bright orange bedroom walls look more subtle without painting them?

I painted my bedroom bright orange a few years ago, but now I want a more subtle color, like a pale blue or green. My parents won't let me paint them again, but I'm sick of the orange! I'm going for like a beach/surfer theme...is there anything I can do to make the walls look less harsh? (like wall pictures, rugs, etc.) or anything really.....
