People Returning My Emails Replying Are Being Redirected To An Outlook Account That I Do Not Own.

How do you stop Outlook from replying to myself on reply all?

I'm using Outlook 2010 on an Exchange 2010 environment, and I just ran into this problem.  It started today, conincidentally when my primary email address changed on the server.  I discovered that if my email address used in the actual email differs from what is in the Account preference, then it would include me in the Reply All.  Once I updated the email address in there, the problem went away.  If you have more than one email account, you may want to be sure to uncheck "Reply and forward using the default e-mail account" in the Composing preference screen.  Good luck!

Will a reply to a suspicious email get my account hacked?

If you do reply to it it can get a lot more things done than just “hacking” your account. You can lose a lot of your personal information and everything that goes with that. Here are some useful tips on how to avoid that and how to recognize fraud emails.1. If you didn’t request it, don’t click it!This is the golden rule. If you didn’t request something from a person or company, there’s no reason for them to email you instructions or, worse, attached files. So unless you’ve specifically asked your bank for information, you shouldn’t expect a “bank manager” to be contacting you.2. Suspicious email? Look for the text on Google.Mails related to scams and malware tend to use the same texts, sometimes with tiny changes. Keep an eye out for:Nonsensical phrases, bad spelling and strange words stemming from automatic translations – like “With due respect to your person and much sincerity of purpose I make this contact mail with you”Badly-placed or low-quality images. No personal references: these emails don’t usually address you by name (Dear Beneficiary)A sense of urgency. These emails are always alarmist, appealing to your most basic sense – fear. The often mention terrible consequences, fines and charges.Copy and paste the email into a search engine and take a good look at the results. It will be clear if the words come from a well-known scam. For more tips and info on this topic go here - How to recognize suspicious emails

When I reply to a spoofed email, who receives that reply? The owner of the real email, or the spoofed email?

There are possibly 3 sender addresses associated with an email, From:, Reply-To: and Return-Path. All of them can be spoofed. If I reply with my regular email client, if Reply-To: is present, it offers me a choice, with that being the default. Else it uses From:.Return-Path I won’t see unless I expand the full email headers. That would have been used if the email could not be delivered - if my mailserver antivirus had rejected it up front and refused to accept it, or the sender had my address wrong and there was no such user at my domain.Normally, for personal email, Return-Path and From: are identical and set to the real address of the sender. For some legitimate mailing lists and newsletters, they are different. There is no way to tell the “owner of the real email” for a spoofed email. All you can do is look at mail headers and try to decide where to stop trusting them. You can trust your mail provider to provide correct information, because if you could not you’d never get any mail, and you can probably trust a big-name provider like Comcast. If they say it came from one of their users at a certain IP address, it probably did, but if you see more headers from domains you’ve never heard of, you can’t tell whether they are real, or spoofed and added later in the chain. In short, the owner of the spoofed email gets your reply, and is probably justly annoyed if you and 500 other people complain about something they have no knowledge of.If their address is used for a Return-Path, they also get hundreds of “undeliverable email” messages. If you are with a big provider such as Hotmail, clicking “this is spam” may take care of it for you - their process is sufficiently intelligent to unsubscribe you from mailing lists, and not to unjustly accuse those whose mail has been spoofed.

How do you fix Yahoo Mail that is not receiving email?

Hi there! Not getting the emails you expect is frustrating. What happens if I sent an email to a no one used email address?

When you send email to an unused domain, the DNS (name) lookup will fail and the local mail agent will send you an error message by email. When you send mail to an unused account at a working domain, the remote mail agent will send you an error message by email. It may keep a copy of the message, but typically will not.If a domain has a "catch all" email address account, the message will be quietly ingested without error and delivered to the "catch all" mailbox. You will never receive an error.I have a domain that is similar in spelling to another one and I periodically get mail for users on that domain. Because I am a nice guy, I forward them along. However, if I chose to ignore them, the sender would have no idea why their mail was not delivered since they would get no error message.

Is tapping someone on the shoulder still a socially acceptable form of public physical contact?

Hi everyone,
This may seem like an odd question, but I was raised that it was perfectally acceptable to tap someone on the shoulder (even a stranger)to get their attention. However I am begining to see that most people do not welcome this aymore. After moving to NYC 8 months ago I had an incident in a bus where a lady was blocking the aisle and I needed to get off,I said "excuse me several times and she did not move so I tapped her on the shoulder and she gave me a very bad look as if to say Do not touch me.Another experience was when I was getting off a bus and I accidentally bumped a black woman and as an automatic reaction wasn't even thinking I touched the side of her arm and said..oh sorry while getting off well she gave me a horrified expression as if I committed a terrible crime. (I am a woman) I know that social touching is not acceptable of any kind, like asking to shake hands in an informal public place like a bus for example, but its okay in a more formal meeting arrangement.I was raised to keep your hands to yourself of course, but that shoulder tapping was perfectally acceptable.I am from the midwest and I have been bumped before by a guy or a girl and they once or twice have touched my arm and said sorry, ive also been tapped on the shoulder by a stranger and that was fine with me,I didnt consider it molestation or anything but it seems New york has a completely different outlook on it.My question is,what is and is not considered socially acceptable contact?

If you CC someone in an email, does the person who is CC'd view the reply?

Yes. Everyone who receives the email can view it. Doesn’t matter if their email address was listed in To:, Cc: or Bcc:. Now anyone on that email can either click Reply or Reply All when responding to the original sender. Reply will go back to the original sender only. Reply All will go to the original sender and anyone else in the To: or Cc: fields, but NOT to anyone in the Bcc: field.

If you forward an email to someone else on Gmail, does the original sender know?

The simple answer is no.If it’s an HTML email, and you have images enabled, the original server will get the request for the image, and that request will include basic information such as your ip address and user agent. Should you forward that message to another party, and that recipient also has images enabled, the original server will get a request for the image from that person, too, including the their ip address and user agent. However, other than an image request, no other forwarded content will reach the original sender.
