People Who Talk Loudly On Their Cell Phone In Public Should Be

Why do people talk so loud over the cell phones?

It bothers me to hear people talking so loud over the cell phones at the same time they pace like tigers in a cage.
Cell phones are very sensitive to sound. Why not whisper ?

Why are people so loud talking on their cell phones in public these days?

I suspect it's psychological: 1.  Many of us grew up with landline phones; when you held the phone, the microphone was directly in front of your mouth.  With a cellphone, the microphone is often beside the cheek, and it's natural to speak louder so the sound will reach the microphone.  2.  Many times, we're in kind of a noisy environment.  Since the noise interferes with our hearing, it's natural to speak louder to "drown out" the noise. ...  At least, that's why I find myself speaking too loud, before I notice and tone it down.  Old habits are hard to break!

How do you deal with rude people talking on a cell phone in public?

try to ignore themlisten interestedly then make a comment on the conversation. Its amazing the really interesting things you can find out about fools who have what should be private conversations in public. I have sat and listened to all sorts if fascinating conversations about people. Just recently at the gym a girl on in dressing room and later on the treadmill one down from mine was having a loud conversation on a handsfree ear piece with someone she called ‘babe’ frequently telling him/her how they needed to build up various body parts. Arms, abs, legs, etc. A fifteen minute LOUD conversation.

Why do most of people talk loudly on their phones?

That's totally the most annoying habit ever!I don't know how to deal with the fact that everywhere i go i have to meet one of them. Especially in the buses! One day. While i was riding a bus, someone's mobile phone started ringing .. the man answered with a strong annoying voice; " Hey, how are u doing? ..nah i won't! i'm not coming today"!. The whole crowd looked at him weirdly! and i was like "wtf! does he need to let us know tf he is saying!". In the other hand, when i asked my friends on facebook why the majority of people do that! A friend of mine called "Rachid". Told me precisely that they are either uneducated or ignorant about how to use a phone, which i found it an acceptable excuse. In fact they don't even know that the person whom they are talking to through the phone, is able to hear them clearly without having to raise their voices nor to bother those who are around them. Please guys. Whenever you meet that category of people, try not to shout at them but to teach them how to use their phones properly. We're the new generation .. we must be helpful and useful.Ps; thanks to my friend Rachid i was able to come up with that short definition ;)

Is it rude when people talk on their phones in public places?

Yes.  It is extremely rude to the other people in the public place.  I wrote a silly undergrad paper a few years ago for a formal writing class about phone etiquette.  The purpose of the paper was to practice avoiding things like writing in the passive voice splitting infinitives, ending sentences with prepositions, beginning sentences with conjunctions, etc.  I am highly annoyed, especially now that people have blue tooth devices that can barely be seen, when someone is shouting to someone unseen in a public area.  It is common curtesy to the rest of the world to try to seek a place that is slightly away from the commotion to have these conversations.  You don't have to find a hiding place.  Simply parking oneself along a wall is good enough.  A corner is even better.  A bathroom stall is not acceptable.  I truly think that the worst examples of this are when people are shouting on the phone while boarding an airplane.  Excuse me, sir, but there are 175 people on this plane who are waiting on you to stow your luggage and take your seat so we can get to our destination in a timely manner.  I don't care if you resume your call once you have taken your seat, but please hang up while you are getting on the plane.  Back to the bathroom stall issue:  If I am in the bathroom, and someone in the bathroom stall is having a conversation on the phone, I will pretend you are talking to me.  That's the most horridly disgusting social habit that is legal I know of.  Please, do not talk to me on the phone if you are going to the bathroom.

Why people talk on cell phone on bus so loud?

When you ride on a public conveyance, you take it as it is. You are not entitled to demand quiet so that you can engage in your personal pursuits.

Look at it this way. When people (not just black people) talk on their cell phones, they are not doing it on purpose to interfere with what you are doing. On the other hand, when you ask them to stop what they are doing for your convenience, you are saying that your activity (reading) is more important that their activity (talking). Of the two, you are the more selfish and rude. Add to that your racial prejudice, and it is no wonder they are upset with you.

Is talking on the cell phone in public rude?

Not if you talk quietly. Nobody wants to hear somebody yapping on a phone.I have found that people with less intelligence are usually the loudest and completely ignorant of other peoples right to privacy.Same thing with people and their pets. People will appear to give a shit about your dog as its licking your leg or jumping all over you, however the reality of it is, most people would just as soon have your dog ran over by a train than have to pretend to enjoy its existince. So are you rude when you talk on your cellphone in a public place. Not if you are respectful of others. But yes, definitely if you are infringing on others peace.

Why should we not talk loudly on phones?

Ever wore headphones on full volume and heard someone scream into their mic? If you said yes, you probably understand why.
