People With As Aspergers Syndrome Do You Ever Get Overwhelmed By Choices

Why did God give me aspergers syndrome?

You are special.

Do i have/show signs in deppression and aspergers syndrome?

I don't know for sure but you do seem to be able to understand that your friends are bored/ leaving you out, so I don't think you have Asperger. It sounds to me like your friends are jerks and you deserve better. Trust me being surrounded by people who make you feel inferior can have a huge toll on your life.

You may be depressed but it's nothing that you can't get yourself out of. 15 is a tough age. You're still unsure about who you are and why your parents control you (or maybe that was just me :D) and more importantly who you want to be, so try to define one thing that you like to do (a sport/an instrument/acting, etc.) and join a club so you can meet peopl with some of your interests (I know it sounds boring, but just try).

If counseling will make you feel better then do that. If you're too embarrassed to ask your parents or if they think it's too expensive, try a free helpline. I don't know where you live but I'm sure you'll find them somewhere. You took a good first step by seeking help. Just having it out there means you're beginning to define what the problems are and what exactly is bothering. Not an easy task by any means.

Good luck.

What do you HONESTLY think about having Asperger's Syndrome?

I feel that having Asperger‘s syndrome has its good and bad sides. I do experience difficulties, frustrations and pain as a result of having it, but I also experience good things from it.

For example, I hate meltdowns and sensory issues and I‘m tired of being excluded or treated like an alien all the time for being different. On the other hand I love being able to see things from a different perspective than most and think outside the box, I love being able to stay really focused and do things in an organized, effective and fast way. I love having skills and abilities that few others have. I also have various positive aspie personality traits.

I‘ve learned to focus more on the good sides than the bad ones and I‘ve learned to use my strengths to compensate for my weaknesses and that has definitely helped me a lot.

In my opinion the worst parts of having Asperger‘s syndrome are not the actual symptoms of it, but the way in which other people react to certain symptoms and us in general. I see lack of acceptance of differences as the main problem, not the fact that we‘re different from the majority.

I honestly don‘t hate having AS and I wouldn‘t want a cure even if it existed. If I didn‘t have Asperger‘s syndrome I wouldn‘t be the same person. I don‘t think I‘d be better off being a neurotypical anyway, I‘d just have different issues, issues that are common enough for most people to find them normal, whereas our issues tend to be more obvious because they stick out as different. Neurotypicals are not perfect either and they too have to deal with various issues in life. I like myself the way I am, including my Asperger‘s, and I will take it with the good and the bad.

Asperger's Syndrome in the Pre-AP high school classes?

Do you have any suggestions for handling a student with Asperger's Syndrome in the advanced placement courses in high school? She is very quiet, flaps her hands a bit, doesn't communicate well verbally but can write wonderfully, and has very few friends. What should I do to include her fully without drawing attention to her differences?
