Persistent Chest Pain/discomfort

Chest pain with flu?

" My heart rate is also slightly up." -- This is expected. You have a respiratory infection and your heart is working a little harder.

" Is this something to be worried about?" -- Chances are, no.

"It's been three days" -- Have you been coughing for 3 or more days?

"It either comes suddenly and for a few seconds, or off and on. Like an ache?" -- Do you feel this pain when you breathe in? Try breathing in deeply. If you've been coughing, which is a symptom of a respiratory infection, this may be muscle strain Try a muscle rub or similar product and see if this helps.

My chest hurts and is discomforting when I breath, but doctors can't find anything wrong?

I've been having this problem for like a month and it seems to be getting worse. It started out happening like maybe once or twice a day for like maybe 5 minutes, now it's doing it everyday all day. I went to the emergency room yesterday and they did ekg and x-ray, and said that everything is fine, and diagnose it as atypical heart problem and gave me an inhaler.

I don't drink or smoke. I've been eating healthy, every once in a while I'll eat a pizza or fast food, but for the most part I mainly eat salads, and vegatables. I did find out like a while back that I had high cholesterol, but my doctors says that everything is fine and that I'm not having a heart attack or anything. Thyroid is good. I'm healthy with no diseases, but my chest has been bothering me everytime I breath for the past week. I just don't get it. I've never had this problem. Any suggestions.

It's hurting right now, and the pain is starting to get a bit sharper and is going into my upper right arm.

Dry Cough and Chest Pain?

The best way to stop a cough is to sooth the irritated area, and give the mucus a channel for expression-- a way to get out of your body. Coughs can be softened and soothed by herbal and homeopathic remedies. Good herbal remedies for colds with coughs include: licorice, horehound, mullein, peppermint, elderflowers, and yarrow. Homeopathy offers many cough remedies depending on the type of cough.

You might try a homeopathic remedy for cough. Many are available over the counter at health food stores.

Coughs are caused by an irritation in the lining of the throat or lungs, causing mucus build up. When you are sick, the lining of your throat and lungs becomes more sensitive. Cold air, eating or drinking, or sometimes just plain breathing can annoy the already tender lining. Coughs can tickle, or feel dry, making you clear your throat, or cough when you step into cold air. Some coughs are caused by mucus backing up in the throat or lungs. These coughs will end with the coughing up of mucus. These coughs can rattle, or bark. They can be spasmodic, as your body tries to eliminate the mucus. If you use cough drops, or cough syrups, you can prevent your coughs. This doesn't fix the problem that caused the cough; it only suppresses the body`s natural desire to heal.
