Pilots Have You Ever Heard Of Anything Happening

What happens if an airline pilot crashes a plane?

Charles B, you are full of it. Pilots aren't immune to criminal prosecution, nor do they consider themselves to be.

The only time a pilot would be arrested is if they could be proven so grossly negligent that their actions were a crime in and of themselves. Same goes for mechanics. I can't think of any fatal crashes off the top of my head where the pilot(s) were proven to have committed a crime. However, there have been pilots who have been caught drunk. If a pilot kills someone while flying under the influence, or if they kill people because they aren't legally qualified to fly the aircraft, then they can and are prosecuted. Pilot error is a tricky subject, because mistakes do happen, and sometimes those mistakes are made under very difficult situations, such as with simultaneous mechanical failures and low fuel states. Under those circumstances, the pilot probably won't face criminal prosecution, but depending on the error could face having his license suspended or even permanently revoked by the FAA. Not to mention he could be fired, and he'd have a permanent mark on his record, making it very difficult for him to work again.

What is something you don't want to hear the captain say on an airplane?

Here are some things that have previously been said, and I would not want to listen to them ever:British Airways Flight 9 - Wikipedia: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem. All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them going again. I trust you are not in too much distressAlaska Flight 261: Folks we have had a flight control problem up front here we're workin it uh that's Los Angeles off to the right there that's where we're intending to go. we're pretty busy up here workin this situation I don't anticipate any big problems once we get a couple of sub systems on the line. but we will be going into L A X and I'd anticipate us parking there in about twenty to thirty minutes.About 5 minutes later, the plane plunged into the pacific ocean.Northwest 85 (Paraphrased: How I Saved A 747 From Crashing): it's a problem with the controls on the airplane, please give the flight attendants your full and undivided attention, the case being your life may depend on it.Two of the three incidents, ended on a positive note, but as a passenger, I wish that I never hear anything similar.

What would happen if a pilot is late to work?

The flight gets delayed and you'll need to have a hell of a reason why you're so late. Traffic is not an excuse, unless you are completely struck due to an accident.

The consequences are airline specific, at a my company cabin crew gets fired after 3 delayed flights without a good reason, pilots could be exempted from promotion to captain in their career or be suspended.

This is very airline specific and mine is quite a softy.

If pilot window breaks at an altitude of 30000 ft, what will happen to pilot?

Unlike many of the previous answers, not only is it possible but it has happened. On June 10, 1990 British Airways Flight 5390 was climbing through 17,300 ft when the pilot's windshield failed and the pilot was partially sucked through the window following an explosive decompression. A flight attendant held on to his legs but was unable to pull the captain back in the BAC 1-11. The first officer made an emergency landing and the captain lived. It was featured on the National Geographic program called "Blow Out".

What happens to the respiratory system of a pilot who is in a power dive in a supersonic plane?

Nothing, fighters are generally pressurized with an isobaric/differential (altitude - 6, divided by 2) so there'll be some ear popping but that's about it.
