Pool Pump Is Tearing Up

Is my writing any good?

It's actually very good. Nice hook in the first line - a first sentence should always put a question in the reader's mind. You do that. You use a little too much description here and there though.
A good rule of thumb is to never use more than one adjective to describe something, unless absolutely necessary. Also, adverbs are the devil ;) You can get away with using thrm every now and then, but not very often.

I suggest going through and taking out all your description, and seeing how it looks. Then from there, adding in description that you feel is necessary.

You have a lot of promise, though. Keep writing.

P.S. A post above mine said to get it published. Now this is on Y!A it is already self published, and no magazine will take it on. Be sure to write something else, though! And don't post anything online that you ever want to submit for publication!

Can I inflate a pool with an air compressor if...?

so, long story short, the inflatable pool's intake hole is too big for a hand pump. on top of that, there are two chambers and the pool is 9' x 6', so no thanks.
it says not to use an air compressor because it could cause tearing. however, the nozzle for the air compressor is too small as well. could I still use the compressor since some air would escape, causing less tension?
if NOT, do you think i could use a nebulizer? a nebulizer is the breathing machine used in hospitals or for asthma patients. i used to have asthma as a kid, but i don't anymore. could i use that to fill it up? the hose will be too small for the hole too, but I could probably tape it together so the air didn't escape. I don't really know what to do.
we don't have one of those automatic pumps made for pools, or i'd use it. i can't buy one either.

The pool has made my eyes blurry?

Nope its not the chlorine at least directly. Its combined chlorine, or chloramine if you prefer! Too much organic matter and not enough chlorine. Chloramine in 0.5ppm is enough to smell the chlorine smell and burn mucus membranes, eyes, throats and other places. Normal chlorine 1-3ppm with 5 max is the level.

Super chlorinating the pool water will remove chloramine. Raise levels 10x free chlorine level and hold as long as possible. Do this when the sun is off the pool. Use liquid sodium hypochlorite 12.5%, pool chlorine, works faster, let pump run for 3 hours to mix. Check next day with good test kit for normal levels before swimming.

I feel sorry for you, I used to swim competitively and would work out at municipal swimming pools diring the lunch hour and evening. We used to literally be blinded by tearing that would last non stop 2-3 hours. No one could drive so we would carpool with a mom or dad. That was before swimgoggles came in. Then we would get up and do it all again the next day!

Alternately, your pH could need adjustment or your Total Alkalinlty is high. Take sample of pool water to pool supply for analysis!

You're welcome!!

Will a motor overload if a submersible pump is running backwards?

Likely not. If it’s running backwards, the load against the pump impeller is likely even less than if it were running in the correct direction.Reason being is that the pump vanes are swept in one direction to pick up and push a liquid, like scooping your hand in a pool to push water. But, turning backwards would be like the uncupped backside of your hand. It’s more “aerodynamic” (hydrodynamic), meaning much less resistance to load because it’s not shaped the same to pick up and push, so the push/load is far less in that case. So, it most likely is cavitating more than anything else. Possibly, THAT may be causing it to run faster, then hotter. Depending on how it’s structured, it may not have the type of brushes and armature ( maybe diodes/capacitors) to handle running backwards and is tearing itself apart by the restricted flow of electricity. Picture it as hooking up a battery backwards, now you see wires get hot or even melt. That’s just a general thought about the question because I don’t know the specifics of anything else on this particular pump, the type of motor that drives it, or whether it’s for water, oil or wastewater with solids, etc.Hope that helps

Why does cutting an artery kill you?

Cutting or severing an artery will not necessarily kill you, it depends on which Artery, whether the artery is completely cut through or just partially cut.In either case there will be blood loss, inside the body and not obvious or bright red blood will be seen on the outside of the body that usually seems to pulse. In the event of a complete sever the body has certain defence mechanisms the main one being that the cut ends of the artery will slightly retract into the surrounding muscles and this actually partially seals the artery and helps to control the bleeding. This doesn’t happen if the artery is only partially cut. However the usual cause of death from a severed or partially severed artery is called exsanguination or bleeding out. Depend on which artery is cut and what help is available this can occur in as little as 12 seconds or take several hours.Emergency first aid treatment for a cut artery is fairly simple but can be a life saver. If you have a clean cloth available (don’t go looking for one) place it over the wound and apply pressure. if you haven’t got a cloth use your hand (the hospital can worry about any infection you cause later). Touching blood WILL NOT give you HIV, Hepatitis etc, (there is a very, VERY small risk if you have an open wound on the hand you use). This will help control the bleed. If for any reason you can’t apply pressure on the wound, then apply it higher up the affected part. Reassure the person. If possible lie them down and raise the affected limb. The idea is to get the damaged artery above the level of the person’s heart as this will also help slow the bleeding. Summon Immediate and Urgent Medical Help or get someone else to do it.Some people suggest using a tourniquet. A medical device or improvised device to control severe bleeding. Unless you are trained in the correct use of a tourniquet, DON’T. You can cause more problems. Maintain the DIRECT pressure on the wound and ELEVATE the limb, wait for the ambulance. Don’t stop applying pressure or have a look to see if the bleeding has stopped, if you do any clots have may have formed on the wound (not to be confused with a clot in the artery) will be disturbed and the bleeding will be as bad as ever.

If Deadpool tears in half, will the halves regenerate to become two Deadpools?

Healing factors in most mutants originates from the brain and uses what it can. In instances where only the brain remain, the healing is extremely slow. If, however, the brain gets some extra help by way of the heart surviving, even a half-functioning circulatory system can greatly speed up the process. In your example, the left side (the side with the heart) would start to regrow and eventually re-form the injured mutant."But wait!" you say, "How does the right side know not to even bother? It might take longer but surely it'll try to make a new mutant as well?"Unless you can find me a knife that breaks every single cellular bond within its cut at the same time, there is always going to be a point where the body can make some educated guess as to where this injury is going. Once the vertical cut separates the heart from the other half of the body, the healing factor knows which side to favour. All of this is done first and foremost to conserve energy. Healing mutants are not immortal and are only mostly indestructible. With enough obliterating trauma, you can destroy a healing mutant for good. The only way to come back from truly devastating damage is to be extremely picky about where you start to generate and how much energy you burn doing so. It might seem like certain mutants or metahumans' energy is limitless, but that is not the case except for extreme cases like The Hulk (even if you got close to obliterating him, his anger, and thus his power, would exponentially grow to meet the demand). There was that time that the hulk tore wolverine in two, although that wasn't down the middle, he ripped his lower half and threw his ass away.Wolverine had to crawl several miles to get his legs back in order to heal properly. Also there is another evil deadpool made entirely of the waste limbs ( although I can't make up what a waste limb really is) of deadpool called evil deadpool. So guessing from this context and the example of wolverine, the best bet would be his two side must somehow come together to heal him properly.Although the final result is left on the sole discretion of the writer.Original Answer: If you cut Deadpool in half vertically (head to groin) which side will heal?
