Popping Sensation In My Head

Popping sensation in head followed by sharp pain?

I have been having bad headaches for about 2 years now. As of September, i have been getting this feeling like something inside my head is popping or exploding and is followed by a really sharp pain that puts me in tears almost every time. It stopped for a while until yesterday. The popping usually happened once or twice a day but yesterday it was happening all day long. This time I could tell when it was going to happen because my head was starting to feel weird. I have had migraines since then and no meds, that ive taken have helped at all. Can anyone tell me what this could be? You'd be a huge help!

Painful "popping/snapping" sensation on right side of neck?

It sounds like you're holding too much tension in your neck and shoulders. Try this: bend forward from the waist and let your arms and head hang. When you're relaxed, turn your head from side to side (shake your head "no") Then move your head up and down (shake your head "yes") Then just stay bent at the waist and continue to let your arms and head hang for a few more minutes. Then keeping your shoulders slumped, slowly raise your body to a standing position, then slowly roll your shoulders back, then slowly raise your head. Turn your head side to side a couple times if you feel like it. See if that helps. If not, look into chiropractic treatment.

Popping sensation in temple area?

Hello. Every so often I get this weird popping feeling in my left temple..almost like bubbles are popping. I don't get headaches from it, and I actually don't get anything from it..its just a sensation...and it kind of feels warm & stiff a little in that area..
I heard that it can be from having a sinus problem...which I kind of have...it's either a stuffy nose or a runny nose all the time lol. I am stressed out about some things, and I do tend to let bad thoughts take over my mind. Could any of that relate to the popping feeling? I dont have any headaches outside of normal. I dont have any numbness or dizziness. Oh, and I'm moving in 6 days so I dont have the time to make a dr. appointment.
Thanks for any inputs!

Why do my eyeballs feel like they are popping out of my head when I blow my nose?

A person has intrathoracic pressure when someone exerts themselves. Whether through heavy lifting or through taking a deep breath and tightening the abdominal muscles and exhaling out. Intrathoracic pressure is a good thing because it allows a person to have more control and balance if they are attempting to lift a heavy object. Or for example, in Yoga, if I am performing some type of plank exercise I notice this squeezing effect. I believe this is why the Yoga instructors say, “remember to breath.”This has a squeezing effect on the heart and lungs and increases blood pressure. In addition, the sinuses have a lot of blood vessels in them. So when you blow your nose you are probably feeling the increase in blood pressure and increased pressure in your sinuses which feels like your eyes are going to pop out of your head. I have the same sensation too. Especially, if my sinuses are swollen because of a sinus infection, allergies, or head cold.

When I crack my neck, I get a warm tingling sensation down the right side of my arm. What does that mean?

If you get the tingling on the same side as the “crack” (cavitation) then it means the accessory joint movements in the facet (Zygaphophyseal) joints on that side of the neck has now increased and the nerves (Cervical 4–7) that flow out to the hands (median, ulnar and Radial nerves) from that side are sensing this change of tension inside the intervertebral foramen.Nerves can sense the smallest changes (they are chemosensitive and mechanosensitive) and sometimes very tight/ overactive muscles and joints could be irritating/ reducing the blood flow to the nerves (via vasa nervorum) and such an increase in the facet joint movement could potentially increase in the blood flowing into the nerves and cause this “warm fuzzy tingly sensation”. This is a desirable sensation. However, in some necks IF there is a reduced area/ space for the nerve exiting the foramen into the upper extremity because of a Disc injury/ prolapse or Osteophytes or other occlusions the nerve can be badly irritated during a quick “crack”/ adjustment/ cavitation and the sensation will be sharp and shooting more closer to an electric shock. This is a non-desirable sensation.

I felt a vein pop in my head?

If you had a vein pop or burst, you'd certainly know because the area around it would start turning dark because blood would start coming out of your vein. It would clot, but there would still be a dark patch right below your skin. It'd be visible.
It was probably just your jaw popping.

I felt something pop in my head?

I was at a store and I quickly looked over to my sister and felt something pop from the lower left side of my head, it hurt a bit and i just ignored it. Its been 6 hours since it happened and now its feels painful at times. It feels like im getting a headache in just that one spot. im really scared! what if one of my vessels popped and gonna have a stroke while i sleep? One of my friends just passed from this, and i just can't imagine. I'm home alone with my sister as my mom works a night shift. Should I worry? is this a sign of a stroke or blood clot in my brain?! can it possibly be just a pulled muscle? I don't think the spot on my head where it hurts has muscle above the skull? please help im really scared :'(

What is this crinkling/popping noise in my head? I get it and it feels like there’s pressure moving around in my skull.

Might want to get an eval for focal seizures. Just to be on the safe side. At least they could do an MRI and ease your mind. The pressure and noise is just cause and some medication may ease it up. It is possible it could be less serious…migraines. Idk. Im not a neurologist. But having an MRI would at least relieve your mind. If you are having focal seizures you dont want to stress yourself into more and they can be managed. I will add if ever in life a person having worst headache of their life, especially with vomiting…just go to the ER. It's better to go in vain than have the potential damage and at that point you need an immediate eval.

What does feeling a pop in your head mean?

When i woke up and was laying in bed i felt a pop in my head it felt kinda like something popped and i could feel it in my ears too. I didnt get a headache and i could see fine. What was this?

What was this strange pop I felt in my head?

my guess is a sudden nerve compression against a bone or a ligament. I've had that happening to me many times. It was very painful, and afterwords I felt this horrible heat, and then numbness and tingling all over the side of my head. It always resolved itself. You probably moved your head in some funny way, and it compressed one of your cranial nerves in your neck, but the pain got carried by the same nerves back into your head. I have some medical background, and I did not really worry about it. However, I am not you, so this is your call.

if you had a stroke, you would not hear a pop! If you had a blood clot you would also not hear a pop. You are way too young to be even worried about strokes or blood clots. Also if you had a stroke, you wouldn't be on the internet asking questions. You would have serious neuro deficits and would be on your way to the ER. I can't wait to see what other crap will people come up with.
