What is linear multimedia and non-linear multimedia?

Multimedia may be broadly divided into linear and non-linear categories. Linear active content progresses without any navigation control for the viewer such as a cinema presentation. Non-linear content offers user interactivity to control progress as used with a computer game or used in self-paced computer based training. Hypermedia is an example of non-linear content.

Multimedia presentations can be live or recorded. A recorded presentation may allow interactivity via a navigation system. A live multimedia presentation may allow interactivity via an interaction with the presenter or performer.

How do most Japanese people feel about the war crimes their country did in WW2? Are they as ashamed as the Germans?

Instead of answering your question directly, I can introduce one episode which I experienced in the US.After I learned computer graphics, I worked for a multimedia project in Los Angeles. The subject was nuclear weapons. They thought it was cool to hire someone Japanese but didn’t think how I may feel about the attacks.I was frightened, because most Americans believed Hiroshima and Nagasaki needed to happen to keep peace and nuclear weapons were a cool, because they don’t have to sacrifice American people. Nuclear weapons were even associated with image of rock music. They didn’t research how people were killed in these two cities, burned bodies are not so cool.It is true that the Japanese people don’t know enough about Japan’s involvement in mainland China and other Asian countries, but you can say the samething about other countries involved in the WW2.Anyway, I didn’t protest the multimedia production, because I got the opportunity to learn about the war from both sides. I strongly believe no war in the future can be justified. People lose their mind pretty easily when they are put in serious condition, even killing people in demonic ways.Of cause, you can throw stones at Japan for their crimes they committed in WW2, but it's doubtful that would solves any of the issues. I could ask if the US dropped the bombs because Japanese is inferior, but I don’t think it would solve or prove anything.Last of all, I want to make it clear that I don’t support the attitude of our government trying to hide what Japan did in China, South Korea and other countries. If you don’t see what happened in the past, we won't make the right (or better) decision in the future.
