To Knowledge: The Civil War was clearly about slavery. The South secceeded from the Union because the north tried to say that no new states can have slaves and that slavery was bad. The South finally got fed up with the North's meddling in its affairs. Abolitionists like John Brown became terrorists and attacked trains with Southerners on them in Harper's Ferry. As far as what incentive did a Southern soldier have, well, for one, he didn't want free blacks to compete with him for jobs. That is the most basic incentive anyone could have. When is the last time anyone who replied to my question quit his/her job to graciously give it someone else more needy? None of your arguments make any sense. Do environmental crafts and projects that the kids would enjoy. Also try forming joint projects with other groups. For instance I am pretty sure the performance arts council has members that love beauty products, have a project where your club researches diy beauty products, grows the fruits and veggies needed, get with a business club and the art club and let them put together packaging. Get the computer club to build a website, launch a school wide fundraiser to market the site use the performing arts council for the pictures and fun viral videos that your photography and av clubs could produce, the proceeds could then be divided amongst the programs. You expose your club, raise a few dollars, give the students a rich real world yet fun experience this being the most important.
