Problems With Gingivitis

Do pirates have Teeth Gingivitis problem ? ?

yeah.. being out on the ocean for months and months without toothpaste, proper nutrition, listerine, toothbrushes, etc.. I'm sure they'd face alot worse problems then gingivitis. but yeah, their teeth would be real f*cked up.

I get the feeling that you're not from america.. Why do I get that feeling?

Is gingivitis spreadable?

Brushing a minimum of 2 times a day for a minimum of 2 minutes with an electric toothbrush is the best. Flossing once a day at bedtime before brushing. Mouthwash 3 times a day is a bit excessive. This can actually irritate your gums more when you do it this much. Mouthwash is full of chemicals and work best if used only once at most twice a day. Bedtime is the best time so everything remains clean during the night to heal. Gingivitis is somewhat spreadable. Gingivitis itself is mainly caused by poor oral hygiene habits or lack of regular dental cleanings or a health problem/condition. The condition isn't immediately spreadable, but the bacteria is. Spreading the bacteria to a person not used to this bacteria can cause problems. If the person has a normal immune system and good oral hygiene habits the body will normally take care of the new bacteria. If the person doesn't have good oral hygiene habits or has other problems, it can cause gingivitis.

Gum problems?

For a while now I have had some discomfort in my gums. This escalated to a lot of bleeding when brushing and aching throughout the entire left hand side of my mouth. Suspecting gingivitis, I have been using a specific mouth wash to combat this - it has appeared to help. However, I still have some pain on the left hand side and now it seems to have moved to the bottom teeth at the front of my mouth. Here it appears the gums are eroding away and one or two teeth have little left. Also, I have today discovered what appears to be a large blister on the roof of my mouth behind the front teeth...

I am incredibly worried about this and I'm actually in Panama right now and cannot find a good dentist that speaks English so have absolutely no idea what to do.

A little extra info - I am a smoker. My last cleaning was 3 months ago.

If anyone has any idea as to what this is or what I can do, please let me know.

Is gingivitis contagious?

Gingivitis can create serious health problems. Gingivitis almost always leads to bad breath, a serious social problem for many people. Brushing the teeth to remove plaque and tartar helps, as does treating canker sores that may appear on the gums and taking other steps to maintain good oral hygiene. Unless gingivitis is kept under control by tooth brushing and flossing and where necessary, the use of antibacterial products, the condition will recur.

How can I treat gingivitis at home?

I had a problem with gingivitis myself, and the best cure is to use Listerine twice every day. Keep brushing and flossing, of course, but Listerine is what really took care of the gingivitis.

This also works on early periodontis, but you still need to have your hygenists clean your teeth regularly.

What are some good natural remedies for Gingivitis?

Aloe VeraAloe vera has antibacterial and antifungal properties that are very effective against gingivitis. It can prevent the accumulation of bacteria that cause plaque leading to gingivitis. Plus, it can relieve pain and soothe inflamed teeth and gums.Break open an aloe vera leaf and extract the pulp.Rub the pulp directly on the affected gums.Leave it on for 10 minutes and then gargle with cold water.Repeat a few times daily until the condition subsides.By Minh Trang - a health and beauty blogger.

Are tonsil stones just as bad as gingivitis?

If gingivitis can lead to other health problems (heart problems), why don't those with tonsil stones need to have their tonsils removed? I know a tonsillectomy is very painful but if you have bacteria building up in the back of your throat, isn't that just as bad as gingivitis which can lead to other health problems?

What is the best toothpaste for gingivitis?

As a professional, I am not endorsing any products here but I guess you can opt for Colgate Total Pro Gum Health Toothpaste. This product is supported by 198 scientific and clinical studies as well as a number of systematic reviews and meta analyses, to be able to provide 12 hour antibacterial protection, and anti-inflammatory action on the gums. Give it a try and notice if there is improvement on your current condition.
