Question for dry eyes..please help?
Dry eye can occur for many different reasons. First, I would not use Clear Eyes--this product is primary to reduce hyperemia (red eyes) & very often can make dry eye symptoms much worse. Here is what I would suggest: 1) Use an artificial tear 3 to 4 times per day (whether your eyes are dry or not...if your eyes feel dry this will help & if they do not dry feel, this will help prevent the dry eye feeling). I suggest Systane. 2) Take a wash cloth and run it under hot water, and hold it against your closed eyes (as hot as you can tolerate). Along the margin of our eye lids are oil glands (meibomian glands). They secrete oil that helps stabilize our tear film. An unstable tear film is the number 1 cause of dry eye. Warm compresses will help stabilize your tear film by getting more oil to come out of the meibomian glands. Do this 2 times per day. 3) Take omega 3 fatty acids (found in the vitamin section): 1000mg per day. This can take up to a month to kick in, but helps a lot by making the oils secreted by your meibomian glands more regular. 4) Also purchase an ophthalmic lubricating ointment. This will blur your vision, so use it every night before you go to bed. Try this for at least 2 months. If no improvement, go to your optometrist & ask for a complete dry eye workup. Best of Luck!

Hi, i woke up with a stye in my left upper eyelid about 3 weeks ago, and recieved some antibiotic eyedrops like 3 days into it..i used it and the swelling and redness went down but its still sorta there.. it doesnt itch or hurt but theres still a little red area there with a little lump..why hasnt it completely gone away? how can i make it go away? is it safe to wear makeup by now? i mean its been 3 weeks.. thanks x mimi x

Adaptation question, please help!?
Larger eyes would be helpful as the rabbit would be more able to see predators. The rabbit is a prey animal. I feel sure it is more useful to see a predator than it is an additional blade of grass! 'A helpful adaptation' is an ideological statement. The larger eyes are due to the rabbits with the smaller eyes dying out. (they are caught by predator easier, whilst the rabbits with the larger eyes escape and therefore survive). It is like a mutation. If the rabbits 'adapted' the size of their eyes, it would be like they awoke one morning and decided (probably at a long drawn out committee meeting), that they should have larger eyes. ... unlikely
Question about dry eye syndrome?
Hello, so I recently developed dry eye symptoms a couple months ago. I went to an ophthalmologist and he confirmed it was dry eye. He told me to just use artificial tears but they hardly help. Anyways I recently discovered the medication I was taking is likely what caused me to have drier eyes. Do you think, will discontinuing the medication completely help with my dry eyes? Thanks for your opinions!
