Question About Where The

Answer this question about astronomy?

If the stars are so huge, and the galaxy so massive, and gravity so prevalent, why do stars have as few as 9 (don't ***** about minor planets and so forth) 'planet size' orbitals around them? Shouldn't it be like millions? And if your answer is that this is because there are so many stars, I ask you to consider the distance between stars, the amount of mass in the universe, and the distance between stars.

Why do people hate the question 'Where are you from'?

In the USA, “Where are you from?” is often a veiled question for “What ethnicity are you?” People who look different than the stereotype of standard “white” or “black” hear this all the time (along with being asked flat-out, “What ethnicity are you?”)I had a co-worker in the 1990s who was from Mexico, and she was very tiny (probably several inches under 5 feet tall). At the time, I didn’t realize questions like “Where are you from?” or “What ethnicity are you?” were rude questions, but I would have *never* asked it of her because she made it plain from her first day of work that she was from Mexico. Any questions about her ethnicity would clearly be based on her stature—people wondering if she was petite due to her ethnicity. Even to somebody like me who didn’t know that “Where are you from?” or “What ethnicity are you?” were rude questions, I knew that asking that question of somebody who was unusually petite by American standards could be really hurtful. She later moved to another city that was even more white-bread than Gainesville Florida, and she told me one day that she was “so damn tired of hearing that question.” She was eager to move someplace where there were other people who looked like her, and she did end up settling in an area where there were many Mexicans and Mexican-Americans.She told me that in Mexico, nobody would EVER ask such a question. She said there were areas of Mexico where people were blonde, where people were short, where people were tall, etc, etc, and the variances in appearance were just accepted. Nobody would dream of asking “Where are you from” as a veiled question about one’s ethnicity. So the reason “Where are you from” is disliked by many people is because they know the question is asked due to their unidentifiable ethnicity, and they want to answer “None of your f*cking business” (as somebody in one of my creative writing classes wrote in a poem about That Question).

Question about where i should work at...McDonald's Or Kmart?

I worked for kmart for 4 years and your friends are right..they are a pain in the *** to work for. The only good thing about working for them is having retail experience. With retail experience, it will be alot easier for you to get a job elsewhere. I've never worked for McDonalds but I have relatives that have and they moved up the ladder pretty quick and made some good money. Working as a cashier, you have to deal directly with customers...working at McDonald's, you will probably be working away from them. I guess I would weigh the pros and cons of each and decide which one would fit your needs better. Good luck!!

Question about languages where the nouns have gender (see details)?

In Spanish, usually we give the new word the gender that fits better to the ending of that word.
For exemple, the word "lycra" that becomes "licra" in Spanish. Because it ends in "a", its gender is feminine.
The word "velcro" ends in "o", so, its gender is masculin.

Some words (specially those ending in consonant "r") have two version, one masculin and other feminine:
"Computadora" is feminine, but there is also a less used masculine form "computador".
"secador de pelo" (hair dryer) is masculin, but in some countries the feminine form is preferred: "secadora de pelo".

Besides that, we have the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, that usually give some guidelines about new words.
