11 day water fast questions?

Just answer my questions, i know the risks of a fast.
OR
Share your experience.
1)how much weight could someone lose on an 11 day water fast without exercising? What about if they did exercise?
2)if a person who was barley overweight (120 lbs 5ft) did a water fast would they look skinnier after 11 days?
3) when water fasting, if a person held the most fat in there stomach would they notice there stomach getting smaller 1st? Or for instance held the most fat in there boobs would there boobs get smaller first? Or look smaller?

And by a water fast i mean no food at all just water for 11 days.

Can I do a juice fast with juice from the store?

Sure you can do a non organic juice fast. The idea is to drink freshly made juice because juice freshly made contains the most vitamins.and nutrients from the fruit/vegetables . If you drink pre made juice you will still benefit from vitamins and nutrients , but not as many as from freshly made juice. A fast will work with either fresh or pre made juice = )

When juice fasting, do I have to strain my juice?

What kind of juicing machine are you using? Normally there wouldnt be anything to strain, at least not in a regular juicing machine. The pulp that is a biprodukt from the juicing produkt is full of fibers, and you can use that pulp, just add it to your juice in a mixer and it gets the consistency of a smothie. Or add a banana to the juice in the mixer.
If you have a vitamix or similar you dont have to strain it since the veggies get completely crushed and allows you to get all the nutrition out of it.
You dont have to faste (no food) to get a good result, you can eat some veggies (raw with some olive oil and lemon), some fruit (also raw), and even some black beans. It is less hard on the body if you eat something and you can still cleanse.
Always choose the organic fruit and veggies.

Do juice fasts/cleanses work?

Fasts and liquid fasts are usually used for spiritual/religious reasons and this idea crossed over into the health foods craze. "If you don't eat, you'll loose weight so drink everything you can get hands on and you'll be fine." Wrong. Yes, you consumed 1500 calories but your body is not designed to live off of liquids alone. The nutritionist is right, though. Your body does get rid of the toxins by itself but you can help that along by consuming your daily water intake (64 ounces but you get that from your food as well). Personally, pooping myself lighter is not my ideal weight loss strategy. Ever had a nasty stomach bug? I did once for 3 days and lost 15 pounds. Not cool. I would suggest just eating healthier, portioning your food out, drink more water and exercise (like a walk for 20 minutes) daily and you should be able to drop weight pretty quickly and alot more healthily. Best of luck!

Do juice fasts works?

If you ask me, juice fast will never work for following reasons:Firstly, juice is the most useless form of a fruit. It is better to eat a fruit as a whole. By making juice, you are increasing it surface area, thereby rapidly loosing nutrients. Also, many a times important ingredients such as fibers are left out in the processFruit juice without the fiber release the sugar all at once; causing a burst of insulin which prevents fat lossSecondly, only staying on juice is not good for your body. Your body needs alll sets of nutrients which you get from variety of foods. By restricting to only juices, you are limiting the types of nutrientsAnd last not but the least, it is impossible. By starving your body and curbing your hunger like this, you are depriving yourself from the satisfaction of eating. You will end up gorging next time you get a chance to eat.Simple mantra is: Don't overeat anythingMaintain healthy eating habitsExercise regularly(How much ever your daily routine permits but don't avoid it altogether)

How effective are juice fasts?

Juice fast has been surprisingly effective for me. Today is my day 18th of  freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice only. I lost almost 20 pounds at this point. I am going for 60 days straight. Huge difference in appearance (as attested by some friends who saw me first time yesterday) and energy level / well being has also improved. First of all, I NEVER thought I could survive on juice alone for more than a day. I thought hunger would be unbearable and I'd simply need to eat something. But as it turns it is not only possible but I am hardly hungry. Granted I make at least 4-6 glasses of fresh vegetable and fruit juice ever day. It takes lots of effort to do all this juicing. I'd say preparation and and clean up takes roughly 3-4 times as long as it would take with say making a simple sandwich. So effort required in prep time is definitely increased. The key to the juice fast is the nutrients. Fresh vegetable and fruit juice contains tons of micronutrients which are easy to digest and get absorbed super quickly, so the body gets all the vitamins and nutrients it needs. At the current rate of weight loss I should be at about my ideal weight by the day 60. If you are considering doing a juice fast you should definetly see a movie "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead".

What was your experience doing a week-long (or longer) juice cleanse or juice fast like?

Fasts and cleanses are good for the body when done right. My experience with a weeklong cleanse was successful. The fast and juicing were part of a program I used whenI turned 60 that included colonic irrigation, massages, saunas, meditation and yoga to rejuvenate myself insideand out.  I used to regularly do one-day fasts to give my system a break.      There are lots of books on the subject, but I would particularly recommend Daniel P. Reid's The Taoof Health, Sex & Longevity, 1989, and his The Complete Book of Chinese Health & Healing, 1994, for anyone interested in doing it properly.

Can you drink bottled juice on a fast?

Juice on a fast is a partial fast as is eating only vegetables like in the book of Daniel.

On the practical side if it is a long fast say more than two days the juice can begin to be harmful and it stimulates the hunger for more. Don't go without water more than 2 days.

On a water only fast at about a week your body stops trying to get nourishment from the stomach and intestines, and will instead start using your fat. So you will feel better after the first week. If you are in good health and "normal" weight 40 days is you max, before it does serious damage to your body. If you are obese do not try a long fast as there is more chance of toxins stored in the fat. If you have health problems...research the possible effects on your condition.

Also on a long fast you have to go back to eating gradually. After a week of fasting start with juice for the first meal and avoid fried or fatty foods for a few days. A longer fast: watered down juice for a day or two, then baby food. No fried or fatty foods for more than a week. I had a little mayonnaise to soon and got a stomach ache.

Fasting with juicy juice. ( Is juice from concentrate okay to fast with?)?

My recommendation would be to avoid the store bought stuff and go with fresh. Do you have a juicer? If not, it's a wonderful investment. See, here's the deal. Fresh fruits and veggies are the best, everyone knows that. When you extract juice from them, all the good stuff starts to break down right away. After a few hours, you're left with empty juice and sugar (even the natural kind). When you juice your own fruits and veggies, you drink it right away so you're getting all the benefits from them. If you're fasting, you definitely need the nutrition they provide. If you're not sure what to juice, lemme tell ya, you can juice every fruit and veggie under the sun! Plus, if you buy a juicer, they include recipe booklets to get you started. You can find them online too. My favorite (here's a preview) is apple, carrot and ginger. Sounds weird but tastes soooo yummy! You take one apple and depending on the type of juicer, you won't have to peel or core it. Juice that, then add about half a medium carrot. Cut a small piece of ginger, maybe about 1/4" or less if you're not used to it, and juice that as well. Make sure it's all blended together with a spoon or something. Add a little water if it's too strong, and bottoms up!

Good luck on your fast!

Edit: If energy is what you're looking for, you need carbs. Complex carbs are the good kind, so you shouldn't avoid them. One example of a complex carb is whole wheat bread, but look for 100% whole wheat on the label. If the 100% is missing, it's not real whole wheat. Here's a little guide to help you:
