Quitting Mcdonalds After 2 Months.

Should I quit McDonalds after 3 months?

Anytime you leave a job it's best to leave them in good standing so they will provide a good reference for you in the future. If you are honest with them about why you are leaving they should be fine with it. And I would use it as part of your work history on your resume if it was 1 of a very few jobs you had. It's when you had 5 or more jobs you should use the most relevent (to the job you are seeking) or best jobs on the resume. As for future employers go if you just be honest with them why you quit and that you left in good standing they shouldn't have an issue with it.

McDonalds manager will schedule your last day probably on or before the 2 weeks is up. I would turn in your uniforn on the last day you are scheduled to work.

Am I able to quit McDonald's after working there for 2 months?

And how do I do it?
I don't like working there, I barely get any hours even though I wrote down that I was available most days. The managers are total jerks and make me feel like I can't do anything right, they constantly yell and blame everything on me. The people I work with are annoying and fake and think they can boss me around just because they've been working for longer than I have. And the customers are even worse.

I just don't like the environment and I dread going to work. My friends always tell me to find a new job, because I can do better than McDonald's. I think I'm gonna listen to them, and look for something better. However, I'm not 16 yet, so I won't be able to find a job anywhere else, so should I just stay at McDonald's until I can find a new job when I turn 16 in October? Or should I just quit now? Does it look bad on a resume when you've only been working somewhere for 2 months? Or should I just leave McDonald's out and pretend that I never worked there? This is my first job, so I don't really know how it all works. Thanks :)

Quitting mcdonalds after a month?

Ahh don't worry about it! I worked at Mcdonalds for two weeks one of the hardest grafts that I have ever put myself through and just didn't turn up for work one day... if you live alone though be aware that the job centre will need a better excuse than I didn't like the job as to them it's not good enough a reason to quit and your better off being fired.

Quitting McDonalds after a month?

If you are still in High School then I personally believe it's okay to quit this job & concentrate in obtaining better grades in high school so that you don't have to work at McDonals forever.
I am sure there will be other positions available pending on what you decide to do with your life, no one is going to crucify you for quitting your first job. It just didn’t work out. Move on.

Quitting Mcdonalds after 2 years?

I have been working at mcdonalds for 2 1/2 years, Of course you who have worked in fast food know how that goes. HORRIBLE! I just don't want to show up to work tomorrow or want to call and quit (I have another job that I have been at for a few months now and they offered me hours). I have never been so unprofessional before and do feel bad. But I hate that place! I worked there for 2 years up until march, found a different job and put in my two weeks. They decided to not let me finish my two weeks and said don't bother coming in. And yes I was a good worker I have bills to pay and a child to take care of, The other job didn't go so well because I am in college. So I asked them to take me back..they lied and said that I didn't put my two weeks in and i did a no show (which it is in the system that i was there for my shift and I did turn in a letter professionally) So they transferred me to this crap store with this boss that is always rude to me. Talks to me like I am garbage...I've asked for a promotion or asked what can I do because I know how to do everything in the store I've learned it all. I should have been management by now, they tell me they will promote me and then never do. They put me in backlash all day for my shift and forget about me. I know Im capable of doing more and have had it. Its not like I will go back anyways, even if i did put in my two weeks who knows they could say that I didn't like last time. What can i do?

It seems that you've answered your own question, you just don't know it.I will be the one to validate and support your answer. If your older job drained more out of you and made you less happy, then your decision to make the switch was right. Not only can you spend more, invaluable, quality, time with your family, time you will never ever get again, but you aren't dreading working at McDonalds. This goes with anything in life: If you're not happy with your situation, change it. You have the power. It's your right. Your only limitations are the ones you give yourself. Carpe Diem!

Is the income you generate from McDonald's required at home? What about school? I assume you are not in the U.S. because you would not be able to work at 15 years old accept under certain circumstances and only a few hours a day with parental approval? Obviously if the income is necessary you may have to “gut it out” while you look for another job. If however, the job is not absolutely necessary tell your boss adios, but do it in a pleasant way so you can get a decent reference when it is requested for your next job. And by all means give a 2-week notice so your boss isn’t left in the lurch. At 15 years old you are learning a life lesson early on. Nothing is easy and life is going to be hard at times. Possibly you need to change positions at McDonald's from drive-through to a counter person or cook. All of the above suggestions should be carefully reviewed before you jump to a bad decision.

Obviously there is an error here on the part of the Payroll Department. I would imagine that others have been paid or you would have heard about it. Speak up! Have you talked to your manager and/or the franchise owner? How could they not realize this? It is illegal for them not to pay you, so I am sure there is a logical explanation. When you do receive your check, and have them put a rush on it, make sure that you have received all back pay-two months worth of salary. They may take out too much withholding tax. If you are not filing a tax return because you don’t earn enough money, you may have to file in order to get back any excessive withholding tax back. Have your parents check this out for you. Always remember that there is a chain of command in any business. If you receive no satisfaction from the manager or owner, then go to the Distric Manager and finally to Corporate headquarters if necessary. Believe me, McDonalds does not want the bad publicity of not paying its employees. I know this will be taken care of, but learn a lesson from this. Any time in life that you do not receive a paycheck or something that is dur you, make it known to your boss as soon as possible.

Would it look bad on my resume if I quit McDonald's after two months?

Personally, I think that you should put it on your resume. For my first job, all I had going for me was the fact that I mowed lawns and baby sat. Having an "official" job under your belt, no matter how short of a time is valuable. It shows that you have been working with food and in the retail business. Either way you put it, experience is experience.
Subsequently, you should give two weeks notice. For any job, no matter how small, doing that shows character. It shows future employers that this isn't a game because you gave them notice. And besides, if a future employer calls McDonald's and asks about you, they at least can't say you're last minute! Simply just walking out is impulsive.
Finally, I'd put: "I'm quitting for personal reasons of future benefits." Or something to that effect. You don't have to tell them that they suck and that working there was less than a pleasure. Good luck! I hope you get that other job!

The other two answers are complete my correct, however the "two weeks" varies on how on you've been there. For the first two years of employment it's 2 weeks notice. Then for every additional year you have worked there, you need to give an extra weeks notice, up to 12 years
