Ramadan The Reality Of Boko Haram

Ramadan - Don't you find it annoying that Non Muslims think we don't speak up or ever talk about what ISIS are doing?

Just because we don't broadcast it to the world or shout it from the rooftops, they think we don't care about what terrorists groups such as ISIS are doing to Muslims and the Christians in Iraq.

Of course we do, I always here Muslims around me talk about the violent and inhumane acts that ISIS are doing, they think we just keep quiet about this subject when really we don't.

I always see Muslims around me worried and stressed out about what ISIS are doing and I read about different Muslim charities that are trying to help Muslims and Christians in Iraq.

A lot of Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran and other strict Islamic countries are probably not allowed to voice their thoughts and opinions about ISIS because they are scared that they will be killed or kidnapped by their government, sometimes newspapers are not allowed to print things about Al-Qaeda or ISIS too in those countries and that's not really their fault is is? when their government doesn't allow it.

I think that ISIS was meant to be an army that fights terrorism, I don't know how but instead they ended up doing the opposite and became a huge terrorist groups, worse then other terrorists out there, that is why some British Muslims went to join them in the first place. But of course, they could not escape when they arrived and found out that ISIS is not what they thought it would be. And are forced to take part in their inhumane acts and burn their passports being filmed too.

Why are Shia Muslims such a small minority in the muslim world?

the only countries that have a shia majority are small countries like Azerbaijan, the southern part of Iraq, and tiny island Bahrain. And Iran which kind of big but barley the size of Saudi Arabia is like the epicenter of shia islam. and Lebanon is the plural. But everywhere else like half of Africa, the Arabian peninsula, turkey, southern Philippines, the -stan area countries including khazakstan, the levant area, Indonesia, bosnia, some parts of Albania, Bangladesh, and even some parts of china are sunni. and then you got oman which predominately ibadi but shia is so small, why is that?

Is Islam bad for world peace?

No, they have brought many great things to the world too.Malala Yousafzai was the best thing that happened to the Islam world in 1000s of years. She helped more and more kids in and near the western world get educated. There are also negative connotations to other religions and teachings. Al-Ghazali transformed hatred for Greek culture into love for Neoplatonism, mysterious/religious interpretation of Greek philosophy.Ibn Khaldun created the Muqaddimah, and created a pavement for modern-day world leaders.A surgeon named Al-Zahrawi, often called the “father of surgery,” wrote an illustrated encyclopedia that would ultimately be used as a guide to European surgeons for the next five hundred years. Al-Zarawhi’s surgical instruments, such as scalpels, bone saws, and forceps are still used by modern surgeons.I can go on forever, contributions to health care, philosophy, education, and to much more. These people have increased the spread of education, made tools that still save lives today, and created philosophical changes to Europe. There has been a lot going on with terrorism in the western world, however in my opinion- newspapers only focus on the bad things, what about the tons of other great contributions they made?Islam is not a threat, but a gift.Something interesting to look at: 'CIA created ISIS', says Julian Assange as Wikileaks releases 500k US cablesGive me your thoughtsThanks:)

Why are East Asia countries like Japan, South Korea, and China relatively safe from terrorist attacks than Western countries?

Because East Asian countries like the ones you have mentioned do not engage in Middle Eastern political affairs as much as Western countries do.There are drastic ideological differences among terrorist organizations, but most of them (al-Qaeda and ISIS included) share the mission of “the purification of Islam” and “the restoration of the absolute rule of Allah” by attacking the western countries, which they believe to be invading their holy land and manipulating their secular governments (although ISIS is physically more extreme and even largely target Muslim civilians).Western countries, without comprehending the essence of Islam and the motives behind these extremists, innocently believe that all political crises that threaten western interests can be alleviated by disbanding armies and establishing pro-west governments. This method may have succeeded in Germany a few decades ago, but not really in Iraq. The Iraq War (and the Syrian Civil War) even fueled the growth of ISIS, which appeals to many Muslims as a group that can pull them out of poverty, reestablish a theocratic leadership, and help restore order and stability. Unless western countries, headed by the United States, actively seek new solutions to the Middle East crisis, terrorist attacks will continue to diffuse in western countries. On the other hand, China approaches the Middle East with a completely different ideology. China only wants business and the expansion of its market worldwide to alleviate domestic stress. Otherwise, as China claims, it has nothing to do with any country’s sovereignty. That’s why China tends to suffer from terrorist attacks less frequently than western countries because China, most of the time, only seeks economic relationships instead of meddling with other countries’ political affairs.

When it comes to white terrorists, why is it hard for most to accept that such a concept exist?

I am a 56 y/o American. Before 9/11 the face of terrorism in the minds of the American general public was any race BUT MEern. That was true even though most of us were aware of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and there had already been the first attack on the twin towers by Islamist extremists in ‘93.I first became aware of “terrorism” committed by the IRA…composed of pinky-white Irish. I was aware of the KKK, although I considered KKK to be a terrorist threat of the past. Later on, I was horrified by other white supremacist terrorists groups. I knew about Eric Rudolph, David Koresh and Tim McVeigh. I was very young when the SLA was active and was somewhat aware of terrorist attacks in S. and Central America; FARC. Shining Path, etc….The face terrorism, for Americans, really became Arab/Muslim only after 9/11 and was, of course, intensified with every subsequent Islamist terrorist attack. For younger Westerners (and always for Israelis), the face of terrorism has become overwhelmingly Arab/Muslim even though other terrorist groups are inflicting horrors in many parts of the world. This is true even though Al Shabaab and Boko Haram are of course African Muslims and there have been many Chechen Caucasian Islamist terrorist attacks and Chechen members of ISIS.I do believe that mainstream Muslims don’t relate to or identify with ISIS or AQ or Boko Haram or Al Shabaab any more than I do to the KKK or the IRA. I think that most -if not all- westerners are aware that most victims of Islamist terrorist attacks are Muslims… but Arab/Muslims cannot expect the terrorized to always be capable of suppressing instinctive fears and suspicions generated by the global horrors of Islamist terrorism.
