Really Urgent Help Needed Someone Who Knows The Law

Are you allowed to break traffic laws if someone’s life is depending on it?

Sometimes. Most common law as well as civil law systems have an exception called Necessity or Extreme Urgency. This allows you to break some less important rule to save some much more important value - if there is no other way and if you have not caused the emergency. The danger you create by breaking the “less important” rule must be orders of magnitude smaller than the value you are trying to save.Examples:Driving my pregnant wife to a hospital. The child’s head is half way out. I do not stop at a stop sign, just slow down to make sure I do not hit anybody - OK.Driving my pregnant wife to a hospital. I fly through a stop sign without slowing down - not OK, I could have kiled all three of us and you in another car, too.Driving my pregnant wife to a hospital. I stop on the way several times to take pictures and post on my facebook. Waste 10 minutes looking for better internet connection. Suddenly I realize the child’s head is half way out and decide to ignore all stop signs - not OK, as I have caused/contributed to the emergency.Driving my pregnant wife to a hospital - doing 70 in 50kmph zone: OK - doing 110 in 50kmph zone: not OKDriving my pregnant wife to a hospital in a different city, since my friend is an obstetrician over there, and doing 160 in 130kmph zone: not OK - I could have gone to a local hospital or I could have called an ambulance.

Urgent Help Needed - Family law issue in South Carolina!?

I should start by saying that I am in Illinois, which makes things a bit more difficult for me. My friend is in South Carolina, he's been divorced for about 3 years, he is paying child support and is not behind on child support at all. However, he failed to show at the divorce hearing, in which he was court ordered to pay some of his ex-wife's credit card bills, but because he didn't go to the divorce hearing he was unaware of that until about a month ago when he got a notice to appear in court for failure to comply with the court order.

He went to court yesterday, and was held in contempt, he is now in jail, and I'm trying to find out if there's any way that something can be worked out so he can be released. Otherwise he'll lose his job and he'll fall behind on his child support.

He doesn't have an attorney, basically because he's paying way over the amount he should be paying in child support (almost twice as much).

I really need urgent help with this history project!?

i need the events that led to the first three grievances in the declaration of independence.

* He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only. *

thanks so much<3

Please, urgent help! How to know if it is a real law firm?

Thank you all so much for answering! For each one I should send a kiss!!!

This woman as well as my future ''employer'' stated that the ufs services work with OISC (office of the immigration service commission). So I sent an e-mail to the official contact of the organisation, apparantelt they haven't heard of this woman Collie Joan.

The worst thing is...if I had the money,I would have sent it right away. Since I had to borrow it, it gave me more time to ask around...and fill the papers for the loan from the bank (genius). And you know what? I am a university student, I shouldn't be stupid as a kid (sorry, kids)! So now I am thinking.. how can all these old people understand when it's a scam?

P.S. The ''emplyer'' even had his facebook page made...I later noticed that it was created 5 days before he posted that he is searching for the employees.

I kind of feel like this gangster detective or something :D

..and not very clever,tho...

So thank you three for helping me get my mind s

Baker Act Law? Details needed...urgently!?

It is called the Baker act in Florida, but all states have laws regarding persons believed to be a danger to themself or someone else, and mental illness. It involves a court order to admit them to the hospital involuntarily.
Usually, they are kept for a period of time, and there is then a hearing to rule on if she needs to be kept longer.
Any release of information is under HIPAA, which is federal law, not Fl..they are not allowed to release anything, unless to parent of a minor. People in psch hospitals are especially vulnerable to this, since there is stigma.
I don't know if this would work. but you might call the hospital, and make it clear that you are NOT asking for info, since you know you cannot get it. However, you can ask to leave a message for the staff (her physician), that you are a concerned relative, and available for help if needed. You are not prohibited by HIPAA from GIVING info. just getting it, without consent.

What do the following mean? Need advice from someone who knows criminal court proceedings and filings.?

My friend was arrested a week ago. originally had a $5k bail amount and was set to go to court today. However I am seeing that it will just be a conference set today and her preliminary hearing will be on the 31st. as of the 25th I see the courts listing an ROC - release order/order regarding counsel and also an IA release order - IAD initial appearance document listed on the courts site. I now see the bail/bond/fine is $0. What does this mean? Is she being released?
