Replaced Battery But My Car Won

Why won't my car start after replacing the battery?

Are you sure that you do not have the cables crossed? If it was running ok before the new battery that would be my first guess. Also check to see if there were any other wires connected to the battery that did not get reconnected. Some cars have the ignition wire connected straight to the battery ( never seen this on a ford though).

Car won't start even after replacing battery?

sound like a loose connection on the starting motor

Why won’t my car start? I have replaced my fuel pump, my battery, my starter, and alternator are all good. I don’t know why my car won’t start.

For an engine to run it has to have air, fuel, compression and spark. Without all four it will not run. I assume the engine is spinning over since you spoke about the battery, starter and fuel pump. The alternator has nothing to do with the engine starting it only comes into play after the engine starts. You didn't say what year car you have but I assume it's a computer controled engine system which is going to control the fuel and ignition delivery as well as when they are delivered. Some things to check are do you have spark at the spark plugs. Do you smell gas at the exhaust pipe after trying to start the car if yes then the fuel system is working if no the find out why. It is also possible that you could have a faulty ECM. Lastly is there a security system on the car. That can keep it from starting also.Good luck

My car keeps losing battery. Replaced battery, still dies.?

"I have to start up my car everyday at least once a day to make it to next day."

Dude, you got a battery drain. Take it to a real mechanic, not those dummies at the parts stores. They won't be able to help you.

Look at your quote up top. Your alternator is working. That's why starting it everyday keeps it going.

My car won't start but the battery is fine?

Lastnight I came home from work and parked my car and today I was getting ready to go to work and my car won't start. my battery died on saturday night but only because I had left my headlights on but I got a jump and I started. My car won't start today but the radio, my lights and windows are working but the engine just won't start all I'm hearing is a clicking fading noise. I have a 1999 Toyota corolla

Why won't my car start even after I put a new battery in?

Before retiring, I owned an auto repair shop. A guy comes in and says he replaced his battery, replaced the starter twice and the car would still not start. He bought a “rebuilt” alternator and wanted us to install it for him. I told him if he had a new starter and battery, there was no likelihood the alternator was involved, would he like us to troubleshoot the car and try to find the cause of the problem. He aid all he wanted was for us to install the alternator, nothing else. I wrote up the repair order Car does not start, customer wands us to install his supplied alternator and will not allow us to diagnose the problem or touch anything else. Under that circumstance, we are to push the car into the shop, install his supplied alternator and push the car out. Under no circumstance are we to attempt to start the car. The labor will be paid for in cash before the car is pushed out of the shop, the customer will wait for it.I had the customer sign the order and the instructions, and did as he asked. He paid and we pushed the car out of the shop. He tried to start it, nothing happened ao he came back into the shop mad! I told him to read what he had ordered us to do, and then, would he allow us to diagnose the problem and make a repair, charging clock time and allowing us a half hour diagnostic time, to try to find and fix the problem. He agreed and signed a repair order. The Mechanic went to the parts department, got and installed a new ground cable. The problem was that the owner had replaced the ground cable with a short one that he bolted to a loose bracket on the right side of the engine. There was nothing wrong with his battery, starter(s) or alternator. The classic DO IT TO YOUR SELFER.

MY CAR FAILED INSPECTION BECAUSE OF A NEW BATTERY??

I had a brand new AAA battery put in my car. I then took my car to a mechanic to have it looked over completely and I had a great deal of work put into it. 2001 Toyota Corolla with 74,000 miles on it. They took my car to be inspected and it came back with a Rejection sticker on it. I was told not to worry at all. They said because it was a brand new AAA battery that I had to put 100 miles on the car in order for something (sorry I don't know what) to reset itself so that it could be hooked up to the computer. I didn't even get a print out because they could not inspect it. I think this is BS. I think the reason for the rejection was because by the time they finally finished fixing my car it was after 5PM on the evening before Thanksgiving and the inspection station they took it to was either closed or not doing inspections at that time. Can anybody out there let me know if they ever heard of a car not being able to be inspected because it had a brand new battery and 100 miles had to be put on the car before it could be inspected?????

Thanks!

My car battery was changed and know clock won't work?

It should work. However, try once again and remove the positive cable from your battery, and then replace it once again.

In the past, we would remove the positive cable and then strike it a couple times against the battery terminal. With today's electronics you could cause damage doing this.

Battery problem? Car radio keeps resetting.?

Ten months ago the battery in my car died and I brought the car to a service center. The mechanic said it was bad cables, changed them and also put in a new battery. He also told me the alternator was fine. Now about two weeks ago the battery died again. I hadn't driven this vehicle in a while and wasn't starting it so I figured that had something to do with it. The local auto parts store tried to recharge the battery but were unable to, telling me it was defective. Not wanting to go back to this particular mechanic I just bought another battery.

Now the car still has a symptom which it had before which is that the every few days the clock radio will be reset and the interior lights won't work. Once I start it, the lights come back and I have to reset the radio again.

Looking for any insight as to what the problem might be. Is it somehow related to the battery dying? Could this be causing the battery to die?
