Republicans Are Acting Outraged About Va Delays Today Were They Just As Outraged When Bush

Do you think that Trump might wreck the Republican Party?

Yesterday, a Democratic candididate won a small state race in New Hampshire. Trump won the district in 2016. I think it was the 39th or 40th reversal of fortunes for the GOP.This has been a terrible 15 month stretch for the GOP in special elections. Even the Congressional special elections they won were hard fought and they should have been cake walks for the GOP.The Democrats have achieved the most elusive and most powerful entre in politics —- a political albatross to hang around the necks of opponents. No issues, no votes, no positions just “my opponent supports Trump”.Always thought generational demographics would do them in.

Can you tell me a little bit 'bout educational system in America? What I need to do to become a good student?

Not all US high schools are as bad as that other poster made them out to be. I should know, I went to one. The problem most of the bad schools have isthat they are filled with stupid poor people. Avoid inner city schools.

In general what you want to do to be a good student is just make the teachers think you are trying hard. If you do that they will grade you easier and give you the benfit of the doubt in most circumstances.
Yes, you shoucl participate in extracurricular activities. They look good on applications and they keep you busy so you dont fall in with a crowd of drug addict losers.

According to the people who disapprove of George W. Bush's decision to invade Iraq, what would've been a better thing to do?

Along with some US officials in the State Department, I prepared various policy papers outlining how a more aggressive attempt to block Iraq's illegal oil exports would serve to contain any potential threat, and possibly undermine the regime sufficiently to bring about its downfall (1997-2002 I was the UK's Iraq expert at the UN Security Council, responsible for sanctions and weapons inspections).  These proposals were ignored.  It was well known to the US and UK that Iraq was illegally exporting a significant amount of oil outside of the UN sanctions system (under which the UN approved Iraq's oil sales, and revenues were placed in a UN controlled escrow account).  It became clear to me over the years that the US - and this included the Clinton administration - was content to see these illegal exports continue because they helped keep oil prices lower, they helped US allies who were Iraq's neighbors (Turkey and Jordan in particular) and the big oil companies liked them.  We had substantial evidence of big US oil majors buying the oil through fly-by-night intermediaries.  Stopping these supplies would have taken a complex and concerted multinational effort, but it was eminently possible.  Such an effort of course would have been considerably easier, cheaper and less risky than launching a war.  It was never attempted.  Do not believe the claims of Bush/Blair etc that "sanctions were collapsing".  This was not true, but nevertheless neither government made any serious coordinated attempt to stop the illegal exports which provided Saddam with scarce foreign currency and thus helped sustain his regime.  You can see more detail in my various evidence to two UK official inquiries here.Iraq: the story of my testimony
