Republicans Will You Flip Flop If A Democrat Running For President Refuses To Release Tax Returns

Who do you think will win the 2012 American presidential election? (and why)?

In my opinion i hope Romney wins.
here's why: -I think America is very separated as a nation right now
-whether you're pro gay marriage, pro life, or pro choice i really don't think this is relatively important in the next election because i personally believe we should be working to making America become debt free and focused on fixing the economy...plus no social issue is going to be passed in congress with it being so mixed opinionated.
-If you like obamacare or not...i believe it should definitely should have not been passed, at least not at this time, with it adding tons of more debt in a economic crisis....plus Obama clearly lied to the American people saying it would not be a tax-when that was the only reason it was in fact deemed constitutional.
-I want a president that will at least try to fix the damn economy...i mean all obama has done is add more and more and more debt to America....Now is not the time to try to advocate a healthcare law that half the population is against and adds debt.
-In my opinion Obama is a great talker, but to me i feel like all he does is straight up lie to the American people and deceives them ... I feel like he'll say anything to get re-elected (not that Romney won't either)
-Overall, American needs a president that is focused on fixing the economy. We don't need to be debating social issues or putting in a new healthcare system, rather coming up with new solutions to fixing the economy. Obama has failed in every aspect in fixing the economy...As i see it, Romney is a successful businessman and therefore will at least have a better shot at fixing the economy.

Why do people support McCain for president after he lost to George W. Bush in the 2000 republican primary?

That's actually an interesting question...is McCain a different man than he was 8 years ago? Why didn't Republicans like him as well as Bush then? Would love to hear some honest answers to that one from people who supported Bush then but McCain now.
Goes back to a theme I think is central to this election...McCain is Mr. "Plan B." He's sort of the default Republican. He's boring. He reminds you of your friend's grandpa. His campaign theme should be "ehh, OK Republicans...if that's all you got, I guess I'll take it." The best thing most of his supporters can come up with is "At least he's not Obama."
OK, that was a preamble to my answer, which is that I think they liked Bush better because he is much farther to the right, and also hasn't developed the kind of enemies McCain has within the party, mostly because of his legendary temper. I'm sure his dad had something to do with his popularity...it's hard to imagine W being elected without his dad's name. Also, he had a pretty high profile as the governor of TX.

Dumbocrats or Retardigans: which does the least harm? ?

That's because we have designed the system to promote whats good for the party over whats good for the nation. Politicians start campaigning for their next election the minute they enter office, not by trying to represent their actual constituents, but by representing those who give them money to run again. Thus we are left with the best government money can buy.
Want to change the system...first you will have to change the constitution...as the supreme court has now...(wrongly)..declared that money=free speech, and as such cannot really be restricted in political campaigns...which means that billionaire Joe CEO with his PAC and 527 group has more free speech than me.

I am no expert but personally I would start by...

1.Tossing out the electoral college...its outdated and antique....1 person...one vote...and if a candidate doesn't get 50 percent...there is a runoff between the top two.

2. publicly financed campaigns with contributions allowed only by registered voters and only 500 dollars.

3. bring back the fairness doctrine with regard to the public airwaves..(IE network radio and TV) and ban campaign and so called issue ads not produced by a specific candidates actual campaign committee during the last 2 months of the election.

4. Term limits for all offices and a ban on lobbying that office equal to 1 term of that office

it wont solve all the problems...but its a start.
