Review On World War Z .

Is the World War Z movie going to be good?

I really don't think so.  I'm basing my opinion on the fact that the movie appears to be neglecting or differentiating a few details that make the book as popular as it is.1) The zombies in the book were slow-moving Romero style zombies, and in the movie they look to be 28 Days Later/ I am Legend style creatures.  Fast moving zombies make all of the book strategies and battles that much more difficult.2) The book also revolved around multiple story lines and different timelines throughout the apocalypse.  The movie plot looks very linear with Brad Pitt as the central character.3) A big sell with the book was all of the detailed strategy and progression of fighting.  The movie again, looks like Brad Pitt is leading the charge on a smaller scale.  We can only hope they show the Battle of Yonkers in the movie.I'll add some differences as I find them.

World War Z...Opinions?

I thought it was just ok, but like you, I was very disappointed. I went in with very high expectations (my fault) from all the talk of it, pics, and trailers, over the last three + years. I followed this movie since I first heard they were making it.
It had some cool scenes, but they were too short and not enough action. Although the movie's run-time was about two hours, to me, it felt like it was only about an hour and change. They could have expanded the first two acts, and made the third more exciting. I feel they went into it, thinking that they are going to make a sequel (or two).
All in all, on the Lex Movie Rating scale (10 being Godfather and 1 being Maid in Manhattan), I give it a 6 out of 10.

How successful would the World War Z virus (depicted in the movie) be in real life?

I have to say…not very.First off, what is the mechanism of this disease? It is transmitted via bite, fine. Then that bite creates total conversion in 12 seconds (movie). Nothing biological works that fast. Toxins, yes, but not viruses.Second, how does it motivate (motorvate?) a dead corpse? then keep it animated for months. there appear to be periods of very low activity unless a loud sound is involved. Muscles require…require…nerve impulses to move. they require fuel to activate. If there is no biologic activity in the tissues themselves how does this happen?Third, senses make no sense. The fact that they appear to be aware of live people…in order to make them dead. If there is no nerve signals to the muscles, how are they hearing? No…the whole thing is ridiculous.I do enjoy the movie though.BTW: They do some explaining of these issues in the book…though I am uncertain of how much. basically, the movie took a years long struggle and changed a bunch to get a ‘fast zombie’ movie.
