Reward For Turning In Marijuana Users

Is there a reward for turning in a marijuana grow house?

Law enforcement or a lawyer would need to know the State at least and maybe the city or county. Laws and regulations begin locally. One third of the USA now allows Medical Marijuana and rules for people to grow medicine. Don't mess up people getting their medicine. I don't believe in turning in someone who is growing (not harming anyone - hope that is the case) no matter where they live.

Should I turn my boyfriend's step dad in for growing marijuana?

I am currently living with my boyfriend who in turn is living with his mom and step dad. Over two months ago or so ago, his step dad (fake name:john) was working out of town during the week and only came home on the weekends. My boyfriends mom was talking to us very upset one day that John was starting to grow weed. My boyfriend and I laughed and brushed it off thinking that he wasn't stupid enough to actually continue it in a serious manner. They fought about it for sometime threatening divorce and what not, when eventually their storm had passed and the subject was dropped. Within the last two months he's changed job locations and is able to come home every day.

Things were pretty normal now. Our bathroom was out of TP so I went to my boyfriends moms bathroom, which is connected to their room and a walk in closet. As soon as you walk in the bathroom you have full view into the closet as long as the closet door is open. I had seen a huge "box" type thing, about the size of a gun case My step dad in CO has, covered with some sort of blanket. I knew it hadn't been there before but didn't think much of it at the time.

A week or two later walking by their bedroom I saw big, tube like things with an aluminum appearance (something I've seen on a movie/show for ventilation or something for growing weed) just laying in their bedroom. I then figured they were from when he was attempting to grow when he was out of town and never put the two findings together.

Yesterday I was in our bathroom when my boyfriend needed to go so he went to use their bathroom instead. A few seconds later I hear him yell across the hall "Mother ******!" I figured the dog had peed/poop but hurried anyways to see what was up. Their closet door and the door to the box were wide open. Inside the box contained all of the necessary lights and equipment along with four pot plants. He was very pissed off and I was afraid for our futures and Us getting in trouble.

Advice?

What's the reward for turning a marijuana grower in?

A pat on the back and an "atta boy".

If you have a Crimestoppers phone number in your community you might be compensated. The sheriff or police cheif might give you an accommendation, but I doubt it will be monetary.

Are you disgusted by marijuana smokers?

OMG, you are probably the biggest sheep in the herd. I don't even know where to start to tell you off!

First off, I have cancer and medical marijuana isn't available in my state, but marijuana is the ONLY SUBSTANCE ON EARTH that makes you feel the need to eat. If I could take an FDA approved pill that did the same thing, I would. I'm 5' 10" and 102 lbs. I don't smoke it every day, but on days where I don't feel like I can eat, I smoke it, it settles my stomach, and it makes me WANT to eat.

I'm exactly the opposite...I care about my life and, even more, I care about the quality of my life. I do understand the risks of smoking marijuana. Have you read the side-effects of prescription drugs? I have because I am also a pharmacy tech student! Not everyone that wants pot to be legalized is a pot smoker that doesn't want to be caught! Some of us actually need it to have an appetite. Would you rather I starve to death because I have no desire to eat thanks to the treatment that my medical professional has actually had approved to treat my disease?!! Sorry, but chemo kills more brain cells than pot does. I also work for a non-profit cancer organization, so I am not one of these stoners that sits around getting high - I actually have a life, a job that I go to 5 days a week, and have the knowledge to back up the facts. Stop wearing yourself for a hat.

You want to resort to violence over this? Bring it on! I'll bring my whole 102 lbs and let you beat me down because you have no clue what it's like to go thru cancer and chemo and lack of appetite and you have no idea the anger I have towards what life has dealt me...any punishment you think you could deal out resorting to violence could never compare.

EDIT: When have you ever heard of someone holding up a 7-11 because they had the munchies and wanted the cash register and a bag of Doritos? When have you ever heard of a driver killing a family of 4 on the road cause they were driving stoned? Hell, you'd be lucky to get them off the couch, yet alcohol related deaths are thru the roof and that's a legal product. Did you get your information about marijuana from some anti-drug pamphlet? Maybe you should do your homework. Sounds like you haven't researched the rewards and done the math to compare them to the risks and then again compare them to the risks of drugs that have been approved by the FDA.

How does marijuana interfere with dopamine?

The other answers here are laden with editorial, so how about some actual science?I found this short review from the British Journal of Pharmacology that discusses, in brief, the effects of Delta-9 THC, the primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis: Page on nih.govFrom the paper, it is speculated that THC decreases GABA (another neurotransmitter) release, which in turn causes an increase in dopamine neuron activity.Post-synaptic (receiving) neurons will automatically prune or add new receptors during a process called downregulation or upregulation. THC, by increasing dopamine neuron activity, may cause dopamine receptor downregulation. Here's another paper that discusses some research on THC's role in dopamine receptor downregulation: Page on pnas.org. Here is another from the National Institute of Mental Health: Page on nih.gov.

Why is it that marijuana use does not cause dangerous physical dependency?

Firstly, don't consider brain separate from other physical parts of body. It is connected and is part of a functioning system. All drugs (or addictive habits) produce certain changes in our system ( brain+ others) to adjust to the chronic long-term consumption of the substance/activity. This change is manifested in various forms depending on how these drugs affect our body. Almost all drugs cause psychological dependencies because of their effect on the reward circuitry where our brain learns it as an important activity (as it increases dopamine in areas like NuACC) and wires itself to keep doing it. If this requires some physical body changes to happen it will also induce that. Some drug demand certain physical changes some don't. Alcohol and opiates (Heroin & Morphine) happen to have physical dependence. For breaking down alcohol you need certain enzymes and if you drink heavily over weeks or months, levels of these enzymes go  up, your tolerance builds and you need more alcohol to get the same  effects. Opiates affect the opioid system which are present as pain reliever all over the body and CNS. Nicotine which affects receptors for acetylcholine are also present through out the body.Marijuana on the other hand affects mostly the CNS. The cannabanoid receptor CB1, which is activated by THC-- the thing which gets you high in Marijuana--is present in brain only. Hence the changes required are mostly in the reward system and other areas of brain where CB1 is present. Marijuana being more potent doesn't require much changes in body and blends easily with physical processes. Hence physical dependence is spared. Finally don't undermine psychological dependencies, it might not be explicit, but it fucks up the brain. Physical or psychological both dependencies are not good for your normal self. You would never realize when you have become addicted to something, it happens that fast. Withdrawal is fiendish, both physical and psychological, just the degree varies.

Do i get money for turning in drug dealers?

Depends of if he was wanted and a reward was offered. Turning in random criminals usually does not get you a reward. If someone is dealing drugs you should turn him in regardless if a reward is offered or not.
I know its considered snitching but, I bet the people who would call you a snitch would not do so if the dealer was selling to their kids.

Will a air purifier help with marijuana smoke odor?

Serious answers only please. I know the risks and rewards about smoking. Thank you :)

I just moved into my apartment 3 months ago, and usually its just me smoking. I use a sploof, towel the door, turn on the exuast fan above the stove and blow the smoke right into it. I use ozium spray and make as little smoke as possible. I just moved in after all.

I recently had a few friends over and one thing led to another and smoke was everywhere in the apartment. I have had no complaints but I know someone fer sure smelled that. I mean how could you not.

Usually it is just me taking a few hits every now and then and no one can smell it, but if i decide to have a guest over occasionally I want to have the odor taken care of. I don't wanna annoy other tenants with a marijuana smell again. I was thinking If i got a air purifier that it might do the trick. I researched it a tiny bit and the ones with HEPA filters and Ionizers are said to help with smoke.

I was wondering in anyone has tried it and how it has worked for them?
