What is the relationship between Nike's Jumpman and Air Jordan brands? Are these the same brands or different?

The Jumpman is the name of the Brand Jordan logo. It is all Brand Jordan. Air Jordan is a specific style of basketball shoe created annually under the Jordan brand, but there are many Brand Jordan footwear styles other than the Air Jordan. Many of them are not even basketball shoes. Currently Brand Jordan has under contract athletes in sports like baseball (Derek Jeter, Jimmy Rollins) and American football (Josh Freeman, Dwight Freeney) in addition to basketball, and Brand Jordan has also created training shoes (without spikes or cleats) for these field sport athletes.Apparel and equipment (bags, etc.) are also part of the Brand Jordan line. Annual sales of Brand Jordan products are in the ballpark of $1B.These products do not carry the Nike Swoosh logo, only the Jumpman.

Why is Michael Jordan the best basketball player ever?

Well, let's see..... he can jump really high. Or maybe it's because he doesn't miss any shots. No, that can't be it. Perhaps, he's the best because he won slam dunk contests. Plus he pioneered the long baggy shorts. No, no, no....I think I got it: ITS BECAUSE ESPN SAYS SO !!!! Yeah, thats it.

Seriously, sorry to break it to you folks, but Michael Jordan is not the best player of all time. There is no legitimate argument, period. He might be one of the most exciting players to watch, but in terms of all around talent, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson are far and away much better.

The reason some people say Jordan is the best is because there has been no athlete in the past two decades who has been more over-hyped, more promoted, and more marketed than Michael Jordan. He could not possibly live up to those standards. Between movies, shoes, cereal boxes, fast food and everything else he's advertised, who hasn't heard of Michael Jordan ?

He came along at just the right time. David Stern became commissioner and heavily marketed the NBA to corporate America. What better face to put on it but Jordan. He played a flashier style of b-ball, be was polite and accesible to writers and fans. In other words, he was family friendly. But he played for the lowly Chicago Bulls.

So maybe if we increased the number of playoff teams from 12 to 16, the Bulls might make the playoffs and we can have Michael on t.v. more. And maybe if we added a slam dunk contest to the all-star game, people can see even more of Michael. Plus, we now have a 24 hour sports channel so nobody can possibly miss his high flying dunks and acrobatic moves.

Now, I 'm not trying to take anything away from Jordan. He was a great player FOR HIS TIME. He had great talent and was exciting to watch. But as far as dominating the league, that didn't happen until Bird and Magic had gone and the league expanded to 27 and 29 teams, thereby depleting the talent pool.

Since Skechers discontinued their Shape-Up models, what is the closest Skechers (or other manufacturer brand) to that model?

Answer: Try FitFlop, they’re similar (and in my opinion better).Back end of the answer that you may or may not care about: I bought Fitflops at the recommendation of my mom (who I Love) because she told me that she could walk miles in them. I bought them and looked at the packaging (which at the time was the same as Sketchers shape up and Reebok’s sneaker version.) I don’t remember exactly what it said but the story was : Make your rear look great just by wearing shoes! And I thought to myself “This is garbage-there’s no way that’s true! Yet, I trust my mom because these shoes are quite ugly and she’s been wearing them all over. Also she isn’t exactly checking out my bum…”And, dear reader, I am a convert. I have walked miles in my Fitflops, I have taken them in my kayak, pushing a stroller and on long hikes and I have never had my feet hurt. I used to regularly walk from my office on 14th street in New York to catch the subway higher up on 59th street just because I like walking and I would do it wearing these shoes. And pretty much every time I wear them someone says to me “You know that the science isn’t real-it won’t change your ass?” and I heartily agree with them. “Yes, they made up those facts! My derriere is more or less the same as it was before I got these shoes! You are right! Yet I’m not taking the shoes off! But you’re still right!”The thing is I really like them for their comfort level and I’m willing to wear them all over despite a) the fact that I don’t find them to be the most attractive of shoes and b) the taunting and the regular sending of articles like the one Stephanie Vardavas posted below that I get regularly from friends, well intention-ed strangers and once or twice people on the subway who feel that these shoes are an invitation to comment on my butt.I’ve bought their flats and I’ve considered buying their boots (although I haven’t found a style that I really like.) And they’re still really comfortable to me.So if you are like me and are completely willing to have people explain to you in detail why you should not wear those shoes (as I’m assuming you’ve had with your sketchers) and still want to wear them, then perhaps try Fitflops. Also, FYI If they’re too expensive. (Cause they are pricey: I love those Anna Sui flats but they’re outside of my budget!) You can sometimes find old models at Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls or TJ Maxx.

Can I sue because someone sold me fake shoes?

Hi I'm a 17 year old who just graduated from highschool recently, and I got 500 for graduation to spend on myself. I spent 200 on clothes and wanted a really nice beautiful Air Jordan sneaker.
There's a facebook group, not a gang or anything just somewhere where people sell sneakers unused and used. There is also another group for people who don't scam others or sell them fake shoes, and him and I both are in the group. He made a Facebook post saying he was selling a shoe called Pantone 11s for 300. I told him I'll buy. He sold me the shoe and went on about his business. Then a friend messaged me and told me they were fake, and so I messaged him and said "hey man somebody calling your shoes fake" then he said that he doesn't deal with fakes, he has bills to pay that's the only reason he sold them. But then I took the time to examine the shoe, and noticed the signs that they are fake but they can easily be mistaken as real. I asked for s refund he tried telling me they were real.
I gave him more proof that they were fake and he stopped messaging me back

I know that you can sue someone for selling you fake shoes but I'm only 17, I don't even know how to sue a person can someone please help.

And I don't know if I mentioned this or not but this was local
Not eBay
Not from the store
I met up with this guy

How do I convince my parents to buy me shoes?

Okay you should definitely not trade them or lie to them if you want your shoes.. Listen to their reasoning first-- if they're tight on money you should definitely not ask. Parents have finance problems sometimes and the last thing they want is to be begged for shoes. If that's not the case then I would recommend you doing chores or doing side jobs for babysitting or working at a shop. I know it sounds dreadful but you cannot get something of not worked for. Do sweet things for them such as; make their bed, cook their favorite food or desert, keep your room clean (this is a major one!!!) , improve your school work, write them appreciation Notes..It's really the little things that make them want to award you. You can't expect to tell them you have a hole in your shoe and you REALLY need one because I'm sure you have others.. Do not lie. Being a good child to them will make them genuinely want to please you. If this is a drag you could just find a way to make your own money--I mean if you bought it yourself you would cherish it more..Hope this helps and good luck!

What is the most common shoe size for men in US?

The most commonly sold size is 10D.The most commonly measured size is 10.5D.The discrepancy is due to many shoes (particularly cheaper ones) not being produced in half sizes. The choice to drop down to 10 rather than (logically) up to 11 stems from the “your shoes will stretch” urban legend. No one wants floppy, oversized shoes. Everyone “knows” that most shoes stretch over time if you need it… so they accept slightly uncomfortable footwear. The nerves in their feet in the tight spots go numb/dead/callous so they stop feeling discomfort after a half dozen wearings, so the “shoes stretch theory” seems to the wearer to be true.Go bigger every time. If the leather of the shoes is soft/expensive enough to stretch it will be obvious by the fact that you are paying a few hundred dollars and the shoes look too dull/boring to cost so much. Manufacuring processes that simulate patent leather or a proper spit shine ALWAYS stiffen the leather beyond the ability to meaningfully stretch.See how the rubber sole is like a bowl? You won't stretch the sole. You won't stretch the leather upper unless it separates from the sole. Sewn on leather soles are similarly inflexible where the sewn seam connects them.-Source: 10ish years of shoe sales at 7 different stores.

What does it mean when people hang pairs of shoes from overhead utility wires?

It’s called shoe tossing. The idea behind it is that once you walk into a crackhouse, you’ll never be able to walk away.In gang neighborhoods, the shoes served as a discrete but highly visible directional sign to a crack house. You would toss the shoes on the powerlines right infront of the crackhouse and if you were a fiend you’d know that place is likely to sell crack. Then you can go knock on the back door and put your $10 through the hole in the door.So leave your shoes infront and come smoke this crack with me.Nowadays it’s paying homage to the old hip-hop tradition. It can serve as a street decoration, rite of passage, or just wanting to put your favourite pair of shoes on display somewhere permanently.

Are Nike shoes made in Vietnam fake?

Most Nike products are made in China, some are made in Vietnam. Will buying fake Nike that is made in China and buying real Nike that is made in China make any difference? i read an article from Fortune magazine last year. It is not really fake because some are produced by the same factory in China. For example: Nike company in US ordered a company in China to make 100,000 pairs of sneakers but the company somehow produced 125,000. the extra 25,000 pairs are not authorized by the company and therefore are deemed fake by the Nike. So the question: Is it really fake? Actually made in which country will not determine which is real or fake , it just that china have too many fake stuff so ppl think of china sure everything fake. Made in China is cheaper , coz labour and raw material dam cheap. Made in Vietnam is a price little higher cause of labour , raw material factor Made in US is expensive cause labour and raw material dam ex Actually regardless made in where , is still the same design , just pass around Then someone copy it and produce themself , then it become fake goods , fake goods lack of QC (quality control) and use cheaper material , that why we say fake good dont last long. The above example is correct , but the extra not deem as fake , it just that eg. someone order 10,000 pair , they will mix about 25 - 40% of cheap material goods(fake) , the % of fake goods is determined to how jerk the in charge is. It would not be surprise if 70% are fake stuffYou did not investigate whether Nike industries has a Southeast Asian branch, if they do then it is not fake, the only one fake now a days are the unscrupulous middle men who manufacture label brand such as this one, and sells them abroad. So it is hard to tell now a days who is fake and who is not. Now that China has entered in the picture every brand is being manufactured, the color, style...etc without the knowledge of the legitimate owners. Just because it is make in Vietnam it is already fake, how about if it is made in China? or Singapore? or Burma? One of my instinct is the price. If the price is cheap then it is fake, because original's are expensive. So just follow your instinct.

Why is it that most things blacks do considered ratchet or unacceptable, though if other races do the same thing it's "normal"?

This is something I noticed in society...

when blacks get weaves, people automatically say that they're ratchet. But when whites want to get hair extensions/a weave, it's considered okay and acceptable. (On top of this, there aren't a lot of hair products geared towards most black women's type of hair, hence why most of their hair keeps breaking, hence why they wear weaves in the first place...)
or when blacks get Jordans or sneakers branded by their favorite athlete, even when they have enough money to do so, it's considered ghetto. But you see other races buying high-priced shoes all the time by their favorite designers, and nobody talks about that.
Or the whole bleaching thing - when blacks bleach their skin, it's considered "self-hatred" and we automatically assume that they hate being black. But whites tan their skin all the time, even admitting that they "hate their pale skin".

I just don't understand the hypocrisy and contradictions. I'm black, and sometimes I feel as though I have to act a certain way in society or around others just to feel accepted and "non-threatening".

Does anybody else recognize this?
