Scored Terrible Spm Result Sciencestream

Is a 9 CGPA good to opt for the science stream?

Those high school CGPA doesn't matter anymore, what matters is your own performance and your confidence level. In today's time when there is school board system CGPA depends very much on the strictness of checking in your school. Even students with 10 CGPA prove to be nincompoop at some time and someone with low CGPA prove to be better. If you believe you are a good performer and passionate for science you must go for it regardless of CGPA.You know its your parents who know better if you are eligible for science or not since they are observing you from your childhood. My own CGPA was not so good but I cracked AIPMT in first attempt, so you can see it's your hard work in inter college which decides your future. All the best!

What extra subjects should i take for spm??? please help?

BK & TI isn't really taken into consideration for Government Scholarships unless the course you want to do seriously consider BK/TI among it's evaluation e.g. if you want to be an Islamic Studies scholar, History teacher, Bible studies teacher & etc.

My friends who took BK/TI usually score very well for it and they only take it as they want to understand their religion & to increase their "spiritual intelligence". They consider it as a hobby or to help their family & friends at their religious study classes. Some took BK as an add-on to help get scholarship from their church & pass their bible study classes/pastor ship.

Anyway it really depends on what course/university you plan to enrol. What's your top 3 preferred courses?
If you plan to join Marketing/Business/PR/Communications/Jou...
then the go for elective subjects like:
Accounts, English Literature, Arts

If you plan to go for Engineering/Computer/Multimedia/Software
- IT, EST

Anyway you should talk to your teachers, I'm sure academically they can give you the best advise :)

Are the ICSE boards really tougher than CBSE?

From my experience, YES!!!!I wrote my ICSE 10th exam this year (2016–17 batch)Here are the differences b|w the two boards:Subject wise: English- ICSE has a high standard of english. I’m not implying that CBSE doesn’t but trust me Icse english is hard. You have to be really really goog to get above 90. Math- Levels are pretty much the same across both boards but ICSE is a bit more advanced. Science is application based in ICSE and requires exact proper answers while CBSE is theory based.ICSE might seem hard if shift abruptly from CBSE to ICSE. I studied ICSE from 2nd grade to 10th grade so I was okay with the flow of it. ICSE might be hard but it really helps you in 11th and 12th. Here’s a true fact: many of my seniors and older kids I know who studied in CBSE in 10th say that they find math and science a little hard in 11th grade. They sort of struggle but ICSE kids easily solve the maths problems. So you see it really helps. In ICSE, there are three papers for science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)(80 marks written +20 marks internals FOR EACH) but in CBSE 10th, its only one single paper for science. This is easy going for CBSE 10th but the real impact comes in 11th where there are separate papers. If you studied ICSE, you’re used to it from 8th grade itself. So the transition is smooth.ICSE is not recognized by Indian Govt. CBSE is but both certificates are equally valid. ICSE though, is recognized by foreign education systems.Scoring and grading is also different. In ICSE, we get actual percentage and not grades. In CBSE, there is something known as CGPA. If you get more than 90 in atleast 4 out of 6 subjects, your cgpa is 10. It does’nt display your true score. In ICSE your score is more transparent.Getting 90+ in ICSE is a feat. Getting 90+ in CBSE is pretty easy, if you ask me. But the effort you put in ICSE proves fruitful later in 11th and 12th.Everyone knows ICSE is hard. If you get 90+in ICSE and others get 95+ in CBSE, you’re still considered as a good player in the game.So…. concluding I think ICSE is harder than CBSE. But others may state to the contrary.Edits: In 6. I wrote ICSE is “futile”, its meant to be “fruitful”. Sorry about that!!

Which engineering side is good and fruitful for women?

This looks like a question coming from Pakistan or India where a lot of us just decide that we want to get into engineering and the actual choice comes later. That too is often chosen for us, either by parents or by our test scores. When I was choosing Electrical Engineering, I didn’t know shit, and quite honestly, I did not even research much. Electrical is the top merit? Off you go.My second choice was Civil Engineering, not because I knew what it was, but because I had no idea what anything was. When I got admitted to Civil, my Dad outright rejected the idea of me becoming a Civil Engineer because that is not a field for girls.I eventually got admitted to Electrical Engineering in one of the most prestigious universities of the country, but I interacted with people who chose differently.Since I am an Electrical Engineer, I’d tell you that the degree is fine for girls and you have tons of options to specialize in. All of those will work great except for Electrical Power because that too will often bring you to field work. I am not discouraging anyone to opt for a field job, but we all know that being the only or one of the few women on a super isolated field is not the least stressful environment.Since Civil Engineering involves lots of physical labor or at least presence on the field, it might not be your go to choice. The same goes of mechanical engineering but I have seen girls work pretty great jobs after it. Physically tiring for sure though. That leaves us with Chemical, Materials, and Environmental engineering. All of these fields have a growing scope and none of them requires much physical labor. If you strictly want a 9–5 desk job, you might want to opt for Software or Computer Engineering. You can chose Computer Science degree if you are not crazy about the title of an Engineer. Let’s face it, everyone needs a software developer of some sort, so either of these is a win-win and you get to do freelance work if you want.*These are all the engineering streams that are common but they do not cover all that are taught. You might want to look into more and I suggest, you try finding your interest instead of just dropping yourself in a degree suitable to your gender. It will matter a lot in the long run, trust me.

I'm a girl and I'm average at Maths and Physics. Am I capable of studying aerospace or aeronautical engineering?

Dear fellow aeronautics lover,I don't know if you have heard of a man called Wernher Von Braun, he is one of the pillars of modern rocketry (a field closely allied to your aspirations). Wernher was born in an aristocratic German family and was a rather indifferent student. 1925, Von Braun attended a boarding school  where he did not do well in physics and mathematics. There he acquired a copy of Die Rakete zu den Planetenräumen (1923) ("By Rocket into Planetary Space") (in German). The book ignited a passion in him and from then on he applied himself diligently to the study of mathematics and physics. These subjects were no longer a hindrance to him, he realized that these subjects were his biggest friends when it came to understanding his chosen field. Because his passion fueled him, studying these subjects turned from a chore to a joy. Von Braun eventually went on to develop the worlds first ballistic missile (the V-2 rocket) and then went on to develop the huge Saturn V booster that put Niel Armstrong on the moon.Ever heard of Homer Hickam? He was born into a middle class family in a coal mining town in the American south, after Sputnik was put into orbit, he devoted himself to rocketry despite skepticism form his family and friends, he eventually went on to train astronauts for the American space program. Again, his passion fueled his interest in academics, driving him to excel. The point is that you wish to be an aeronautical engineer. At the risk of sounding like an ignorant sexist pig, in my limited experience this is an unusual aspiration,  especially for a girl. The kind of individuals who are attracted to aeronautics tend to be extremely passionate individuals, so half your journey is already covered, all you need to do  is to channel your passion into the study of Physics and Mathematics because they will be your bread and butter as far the study of aeronautics goes. Look at this through a physical analogy, a rocket spends up to 80% of its energy just getting through the first 100 km from the earth, but later on it travels far due to the momentum it has built up. In the beginning studying these subjects will be a hard slog, but it WILL get easier, a lot easier.Good luckP.S. watch these movies: (unless you have already seen them)October SkyThe Arrow (a Canadian movie, available on youtube)The Wind Rises (a Japanese movie)

About how many marks are deducted for bad handwriting in boards?

A2AHandwriting does not possess a problem in boards, although it should be readable.Thing which matters is presentation. Its advisable if your handwriting is good and you write well with proper spaces and indentation as although handwriting does not carry any marks in boards (its not like 5 marks for good handwriting :P) but Examiner is a human and its natural that :Anyone would love to check answer sheet having decent handwriting, proper spaces etcExaminer has to check many answer sheets in a limited time, hence if your presentation is good, you will be rewarded positively. Its saying First Impression is the last impression. Same is the case with answer sheet, good handwriting and presentation creates a good impression which indirectly helps in scoring good marks.Examiner often ignore answers with lots of cutting and written badly with in the sense of writing and looks, try to focus on that.As long as your writing is average and presentation is decent, you need not to worry as Examiner know time constraints wwhich often lead to bad handwriting in Exam and mostly Exam sheets have average handwriting but sheet with good presentation and decent handwriting will surely leave a good mark.Note : presentation and handwriting are two different things.Don't worry, handwriting does not carry any specific weightage in Boards.Hope this helps.Any suggestions/ queries are welcome.
