Sending A Gift To England. Not There Yet

How much would it cost to send a package from the US to England?

Sorry, that's kind of vague! The post office goes by weight and size. If you can get the weight of your package, you can go to http://www.usps.com and get the price it would be for your package. I've paid up to about $20 to send a medium-ish package there, but my idea of medium and your idea of medium may be totally different!

I'm an Indian and I want to send someone a gift by online shopping probably from Amazon.in to the US. Is it possible? How?

I request you to please do not order from this site.I have received an empty box with a water bottle and magnet piece inside instead of my prepaid order of Macbook air.Order No: 171-4924389-1541130They have denied to accept the claim and threatened me to close my account . .This is not a Resolution, this is a clear Harassment.I have filed a complaint in consumer forum today and, requested by bank for a Charge back from the Fraudulent Merchant for this Fake delivery.

Sending a letter from England to southern Ireland?

Bit late asking now, you needed to put 2x1st class stamps on it to cover the extra postage or a special Eire stamp from the Post office, used to be 60p not sure if it went up?

Ireland is not part of the UK, you wouldn't post a letter to Italy or Greece for example and just put 1 first class stamp on it and expect it to get there, or would you?

Your letter will probably arrive but usually they get delayed due to insufficient stamps. The recipient does not have to pay extra on receipt, it just gets delayed. Might take 2-3 weeks depending on how p*ssed off the staff at the sorting office are right now.

What are some items that are not readily available in England.?

One thing that I really missed when I lived in England for a year was American peanut butter. England has mostly peanut butter that is similar to our organic peanut butter. While it is much healthier for you, it is not as delicious.

The candy in England is actually better because of the high quality milk chocolate that they use. One thing that is difficult to find is Oreos. I am not a huge fan, but many of the people I traveled with were crazy about them.

Mexican food is impossible to find in England as well. While you can not send her a care package of soggy tacos, you can send her some Mexican spices to make taco meat or send her some hot sauce. On that same note is she loves Tabasco or Frank's Hot Sauce, she may appreciate a bottle.

American magazines are available in England even though they are expensive. However, I really enjoyed the British magazines. They were much more honest and entertaining.

I hope that helped. You are such a nice friend to send a care package :)

Best way to send gifts cross country?

I have a friend moving to scotland this month and I still want to send her gifts for her birthday and christmas and a general welcome to your new home gift. (i live in england by the way)
I'm wondering about what ways would be most reliable for sending gifts... Obviously sites that send it for you would just keep on sending it until it arrives so its kind of 'insured' by them (like moonpig) but they dont have a wide range of gifts so I was wondering what you would all recommend that would be considered reliable for small-sized presents.
(realiable as in it will arrive and it will do so on time..)
Thanks!
