Seniors Which Songs Bring The Most Nostalgia To You

Are there certain sounds that evoke nostalgia for Seniors?

For me it's hearing a rooster crow in the distance....they aren't allowed in town but living on the edge of town I am hearing them once in a while. Brings me back to the farm in early childhood, and also my travels in Morocco...heard roosters every day in both places.

The sound of a screen door slamming in movies also does it too....hearing it sometimes meant there were visitors coming which was a fun time when neighbors or town friends dropped by.

What are the song/s that make you feel nostalgic or bring you back to good old times?

I'm going to use long ago from my perspective, because I'm relatively young.Counting Stars by OneRepublicMy high school had show choirs, and accompanying bands typically filled by the band students (for those who may not know what show choir is, I like to think of it as the marching band of the choir program. They both sing and dance, it's usually high energy, and honestly a lot of fun to be involved with). So I came to be involved in the show choir band my sophomore year of high school (2013–2014). How is a potential story for another day. The show choir performed Counting Stars as the 4th song in its show, and immediately segues into the finale, The Pheonix by Fall Out Boy. After a season of that, two things happen every single time I hear that song.I am instantly transported back to 2014, dressed in all black, standing behind those risers that always shifted more than I thought was safeIt is impossible for Counting Stars to end without me wanting to sing the intro to The PheonixShow choir band is never an experience I thought I would remember so fondly, but no other song sends me back to a time or place like Counting Stars does. Thanks for reading!

Why am I so nostalgic?

Im only 15 so its not like I have much to remember and don't get me wrong I love my life now, but stuff like old songs I used to listen to, tv shows , movies, old toys, and experiences from around 1998-2007 make me feel super nostalgic to the point where I sometimes cry but it makes me slightly happy? Its hard to explain I have lived in 6 houses and 4 different states within my lifetime. When something reminds me of a place I used to live I feel very nostalgic.. and sometimes I will even go as far as being nostalgic for other people like for example my mother her "era" was the 80s so if I hear a song or see a tv show from the 80s I sometimes feel nostalgic even though I wasn't even alive then. This is nothing that bothers me a lot and I don't think i've had any trauma in my life to cause this but I was just wondering if anyone out there feels the same way.

Can you be nostalgic for 2008?

I am :'(
music was so much better back then!
2008 had great R&B
now it's all electronic and meaningless. I was listening to old songs
from 2001-2008
and compared to today's music they seem so good. I miss 2000-2008 :'(
or is it to recent to be nostalgic for?
well i was 12 now i'm 18 and a legal adult. Was 2008 a long time ago
or is it recent to you?

Any songs like "move your feet" by junior senior?

Try "Shake Your Coconuts" by Junior Senior.

Why are people so nostalgic?

I'm only 15 and I know I don't have the right to say what may seem like trash talking about the 90s. But everyone i know (especially kids born 1995 - 2001) are always so obsessed with the 90s. Only thing good about the 90s are basically the memorable things such as some tv shows, music movies, and games. And the majority of the shows a typical 90s kid will list aren't even from the 90s (For example: Tom and Jerry: 1940)

As for games, go ahead and hate me for saying this, but in the early 2000s, I remember buying a lot of ps1/n64/gbc games and getting bored after more than thirty minutes of gameplay. games today are getting far more addictive both in a good and bad way.

i highly doubt that kids my age even knew about the mcdonalds mcpizza, virtual boy, or that some shows they mention are actually way before the 90s.

and sorry for lack of good details, i'm too sleepy to even think right now

Can i hire a hooker to bring to senior prom?

based on my prior knowledge, most people would be very upset if ou did this. it would be very obvious if you brought a 30-something year old to your senior prom, try bringing one of a younger age, maybe around the age of 5 or 6. It's less obvious andeasier to pull off.

What songs bring you back good memories?

Sweet child of mine partying that summer before going into senior year of high school. Smells like teen spirit being a junior in college partying late night. Over the hills and far away. Smoking thai stick, inhaling wippits and eating peanut butter cups while drinking milk freshman summer during high school.

What are the songs (w/o lyrics) that you listen to that induces nostalgia?

For me the #1 instrumental song that causes me to reminisce is “In a Sentimental Mood” by John Coltrane, with Duke Ellington on piano. The whole “Coltrane for Lovers” compilation album of Jan 23 2001 is great music by which to curl up with a good book on a rainy Sunday afternoon. My second choice for nostalgia is a number of songs from Van Morrison: Brown-Eyed Girl, Into the Mystic, Someone Like You, These are the Days, Moondance, Days Like This… While the Van Morrison songs have lyrics, there are instrumental versions available. These songs have a homey quality, and throw me back in time, yet the lyrics are archetypal - we all understand, throughout time, there will be DAYS LIKE THIS…The music may be “old” to anyone born after 1980, I hope its appeal is timeless…ENJOY!
