Shall I Dye My Hair All Blue Or All Blond With Rainbow Bangs

If I dye my hair blue, can I dye it back or will I have to cut it off?

Technically, there are ways you can dye it back.Blue dye will fade eventually; depending on the shade, it will probably fade to greenish or light blue, but if you are really lucky (like I was ONCE,) it might fade to platinum. If it gets light enough, like almost blonde again, you can dye over it, maybe with a warmer blonde to neutralize the green.Alternately, there are color removers that can get the color out. I cannot personally recommend one, because I usually just reach for the bleach. (I heard the muffled screams from the peanut gallery: it’s fine. My hair is not, in fact, fried.) You can remove the color and then dye it back to natural.Hang on…I missed a step. Were you planning on bleaching it? Most cases vary, but usually blue dye over natural dark to medium blonde hair turns very turquoise. That might not be the blue you wanted, but if you DON’T bleach your hair there is a better chance of the color fading out completely. It’s a porosity thing…bleached hair is more porous and hangs onto color longer, while natural virgin hair lets it go more quickly.I HATE giving the “go see a stylist” answer, but…it might be worth asking one for this. Even just a consultation might give you a better idea .However, if you’re like me, you can always “just kinda go for it,” and trust that the rest will work out later. ;) Good luck!

How much do beauty salons charge to dye hair?

It really depends on your area, the skills of the colorist, and the salon. In my area you can get hair dyed for anywhere from $20($20 TuesDye!- a place I AVOID) to $400. It is one of the areas in hair care and salon services where you usually get what you pay for. If you are looking for a specific color or style of dying, ask for a consult with the colorist of your choice first. Bring a picture of what you want, do not be afraid to ask questions. Just because they have a license does not mean they are familiar or trained to do the dying you want. And if they aren't familiar with a brand of dye or a style of dying you want, and are willing to do it, be careful, you could be paying for them to "learn" on your hair.

Hair dye opinion crazy colors?

oh my god...i am SO JEALOUS you have the confidence to do that! i have always wanted to do a crazy hair color like that! i'd so don't do red though...it's very basic and doesn't seem as daring as other colors. also, if you're doing a really cool/bright red, that just seems more winter-y to me. do cotton candy!!! like, do most of your head pink and then do hints of light blue! that would be so amazing! oh my gosh, that would look so cool! like, this pink:

with hints of this blue:

so very pastel-y. and when i say "hints" of blue...i mean ombre-ish, but not really. kind of like this:

i know it's really hard to tell because her hair is just different shades of red. but see where the red looks super bright and other areas it looks darker? the dark areas=pink and the light areas=blue.

i guess maybe more like this:

except i don't like the blue in her bangs...and it doesn't look like she did a great job...i'm sure you'd do better! i'm just trying to explain the placement.

What hair color combination would go well with rainbow bangs?

If you're getting rainbow bangs, I'd recommend keeping the rest of your hair very neutral; just the natural shade of your hair, maybe with a little bit of subtle highlighting. If you get too many different things going on with your hair -- black and blonde on the sides, alternating colors, *and* rainbow bangs -- it could look a little bit messy and distracting.

I think that the rainbow bangs could look really adorable! Just try to keep them the main factor of this look without all of the other distracting additions.

This girl pulled off the rainbow bangs: http://community.livejournal.com/dyed_hair/5452610.html It's a little difficult to see the blue and purple in them, but see how bright and awesome it looks against the natural color of her hair? No distractions there. :3 Good luck!

Would you ever dye your hair a color that is not a natural color?

My natural hair.My first attempt at color. Strawberry blonde. Made me look washed out and gingerOmber style pink. Natural on top, pink shoulder down. I loved it but pink washes out fast. This is in Poland. I cracked my knee open, needed stitches, and ripped the stitches open again. So I was in a lot of pain (I didnt get pain killers but I got to see what hospitals are like in UK. I missed the chaos of US emergency waiting room, hospitals dont feel like hospitals without the emergency room).Next look. Blue, purple, pink. I loved it. I felt confident and sexy. But it turned into this…I went to a amusement park and the chlorine ate my dye and my purple stained blue. Note: colored hair does not mix with chlorine.I only go to hair stylist so not to screw up my hair and fry it. I asked to fix it but waited until closer to two trips to dye it this beautiful color. We mixed blues to make it stand out but the purple ended too light and didnt stand out against the pink. I still loved it. We tried not bleaching my roots and seeing if my hair can withhold the blue (I told her my hair's health is a must and didnt want to bleach it too soon) but it washed out.Two days before my trip, I couldnt get a hold of my stylist to fix up the roots so I went to Ultra store for ideas for a temporary dye. I ended up redyeing my hair. I didnt bleach my roots again and you can see the roots are starting to be seen.My hair looks like this now. Roots are showing. I use blue eyeshadow to hide my roots and it masks it really well. I am getting my hair dyed in nine days. Thinking of two possibilities, tell me which one I should try:

Unnatural hair color ideas? (Something wild!)?

Well coming from a person who has had many different hair colours and bright hair colours I will give you some of mine!
1: Purple underneath and turquoise on top
2: Pink on top fading into purple with a yellow leopard print fringe (I painted the leopard print myself as I am quite artistic! :))
3: bright red (bit too common for my liking though)
4: bright turquoise

Now a good person to look at for inspiration would be some tumbler scene girls and people like Jeff Hardy (also known as The Rainbow Haired Warrior.)
Other people I have known have died theirs as followed:
1: half blue and half orange down the partening
2: bright dark blue
3: Green and Pink
4: Pink, blue and purple
5: blonde, dip dyed pink
6: brown underneath and red bangs and streaks

To achieve a brighter colour you will need to bleach hair and as colour is semi permanent for pastel colours, you will need to colour it about once a month.
The harsh true is that the more damaged your hair is the longer the colour stays in.
Avoid anti dandruff shampoos, swimming (mainly the chlorine and lots of excessive sunlight as this will just take the colour our of your hair.
Some tips to keep colour vibrant for longer:
Always soak hair in white vingar before you apply colour. (It actually works)
Condition hair every night and with a leave in conditioner once a week. Shampoo only every three days.

If you do this then the colour will stay in for longer :)

Can i dye my hair while its wet?

Your blonde streaks are faded red?? Blonde should never fade...it's bleached. What sort of haircolor are you using for this?
Never try to color hair while it's wet. When hair is wet, it's expanded from holding all of the water in it. You try to put haircolor in it, it'll just wash right off because it cannot penetrate. Can't go into space that isn't there! Never try to color wet hair. If you blow dry your hair, you will heat it up and cause the cuticle (the outer layer) of the hair to lift. This will make the color absorb a lot faster which (if it's not rainbow colors you're wanting) can lead to undesirable results. Let your hair air dry before coloring.
