Shop Doesnt Have My Shoe Size. Should I Get Half A Size Up Or Down

When buying shoes online, should I go a half size up or down if they don't have a size 10.5 available?

Question answered: When buying shoes online, should I go a half size up or down if they don't have a size 10.5 available? You should never — ever — go down a size in shoes if the shoe style you like doesn’t fit or isn’t available. You’d be signing up for potentially years of walking in uncomfortable shoes. And you can’t stretch shoes to make them longer. It’s hard enough to stretch shoes to make them a tiny bit wider.NO. Don’t do what you’re proposing. Size 10.5 shoes are widely available. Why mess up your back, your thighs, your knees, and live with constant shoe pain when you can simply find the size you need at another store? And if the particular shoe you have in mind isn’t made in a size 10.5, then find another style of shoe that is.Why invest your hard earned money into a pair of shoes that literally has to take you everywhere you go, but doesn’t actually fit. That doesn’t make any sense to me. If size 10.5 wasn’t an actual shoe size, that would be one thing. But this size not only exists, but it’s a normal size in many brands.

If your shoe size is 7 and want to wear pointed toe shoes, how many sizes bigger do you have to buy the shoe?

For comfort and everything, cause I tried buying pointed toe flats for my first time and asked for my size (in Singapore its 7, don't know about overseas) and the lady brought me an 8 to try on, but even then my heel couldn't even fit in!

Do I buy it in 2, or 3 sizes bigger?

Would they cause me foot problems? I've heard of blisters and how walking in the wrong shoes could cause strain on your back etc. but how bad is it exactly?

The only shoe I've tried on was size 8, one size bigger. They didn't have 9(sounds huge) in stock then.

Should I go back and buy it when 9 is in stock?

Do you buy boots that are half a size up from your regular shoe size? Why or why not?

I've never had a problem with buying boots "on size." I will make sure that they are a little loose if I try them on without wool socks because wool socks are thicker than cotton socks. But because shoe sizes actually vary from company to company I still have to try the boots on. The hardest part about buying boots is the fact that I am Jain and I don't buy leather. This is not a problem for women in the US because many cheap women's shoe brands make non-leather (pleather) boots but for men this is much more difficult. Basically I have to buy Dr. Martens vegan boots, which hurt my feet so I have to put insoles in them and wear thick socks.

Shoe size up or down?

I want to order a pair of heels from Charlotte Russe, but it only comes in whole sizes. I usually wear a size 8 (in flats, sneakers), but occasionally wear a size 8.5, and have wide feet.

I've heard that Charlotte Russe shoes tend to run small, and have considered ordering a size 9. However, I usually find size 9 heels to be too large, and too-big heels are especially difficult to walk in. On the other hand, I'm 16 and still growing (slowly, and there's actually a small possibility that I've stopped), and I might grow into the size 9s someday. What do you recommend? Do you own Charlotte Russe heels?

Also, if I do end up being a size 8.5, which size is easier to fix? Stretch out an 8 (though I'm not sure how you would stretch out velvet and faux suede) or stick something in the toe of the size 9? Any product recommendations?

Could I fit into a size 6 shoe if I'm size 5.5?

I can tell you as someone who has sold shoes at retail for over 20 years that more than 4 out of 5 women wear their shoes too small & don’t even know it or refuse to acknowledge it. The average woman that came in to our store to buy a 5.5 shoe would leave with a 6.5 or 7 after being fit properly. Bad fit: Most of us wear shoes that are too smallAdd to this the fact that women’s shoes are on average almost two sizes narrower than the average woman’s foot and you can see where I am going with this. Reference: Why Shoes Make "Normal" Gait ImpossibleAthletic shoes are built to fit with about 2/3″ to 3/4″ between your longest toe and the end of the shoes. Casual shoes should be fit almost that big.The reality is that by the numbers, not only can you likely fit in to a 6, your feet will likely be much better off in the 6 and you may actually need a 6.5. Of course, you will have to take a few days for your feet to get used to feeling like they are loose and not being squeezed by the shoe. Once you get it though, it’s hard to go back.

What size shoe should I get?

I would continue to search around for reviews on the shoes, see if they are made smaller or larger than the actual size. Also look at your feet. If you have wide feet and/or long toes it might be safer to go a size up. If your feet a narrow and/or your toes are short, stubby then I'd go half a size down. I hope this helps :3

Forever 21 shoe Sizes?

I have never bought any shoes from there.. so you ladies that have... do their shoes run big or small? I wear a comfortable size 8.5 but their shoes doesn't have "halfsies"... So you ladies that are "halfsies" also.. do you go down 1/2 a size when buying their shoes or UP 1/2? I have a narrow foot.

P.S. I do NOT have a forever 21 in my town so I can't go to a store a do a physical check.

What shoe size should I buy when they don't have my size 6.5, size 6 or 7?

Some shoes run big and some run small. A small 7 could possibly fit someone who’s normal shoe size is a 6.5. European shoes and shoes for the Asian market fit completely different. If you want to get technical, shoes are made from lasts. A last is a mold. Some companies create lasts (or molds) that are wide or narrow. For example, most Stuart Weitzman shoes are made a tad on the narrow side. I can’t wear them. If I’m in a shoe store, see a pair of shoes that I start swooning over, walk over to them and find that they’re a Weitzman, I don’t even bother trying them on. Some company’s lasts fit my feet perfectly. Sadly, my feet seem to adore Prada shoes. The last they use makes my feet sing. Well, if my feet started singing on their own, I would make a lot of money…but you know what I mean.Your best bet is to try the shoe on. If it fits comfortably, you can walk in them, and do walk around for a bit in the store to see how they really feel, then buy them.If a shoe is a little big, that can often be remedied by buying an gel or foam inner sole. I have found they can make a big difference. Caveat: Every foot is different. What may work for me, may not work for you.Try the shoes you like on. Walk around in them for a bit. Not like 30 seconds, more like as long as the salesperson will let you. If after walking around the store they still feel awesome, buy them.If you’re unsure if they’re comfortable or not, if you have any doubts at all. Let them stay in the store.Nothing is more heartbreaking than buying a pair of shoes that don’t fit and you can’t return them.

If I wear size 7.5 in shoes, what size ice skates would I wear?

The best thing for you to do is to have your feet measured and your skates fitted at your pro shop in your local rink. If you are a figure skater and your feet are not growing anymore, you should get a size SMALLER than your shoe size. I wear a size 8 shoe but wear a 7 skate. And yes they do make half sizes, depends on the manufacturer.
