Short Haired Girls What Kind Of Reactions Did You Get From Men When You First Had Your Hair Cut

What do you think of girls with short hair?

Hi! I cut my hairsuper short about five years ago. My only regret was that I cut it right before High School graduation and did not have a clue how to style it.I love my short hair. I have very fine hair, and honestly, it looked HORRIBLE long.. It wouldn't hold any style longer than an hour....unless I used a ton of product. The only thing I miss about long hair is being able to put it up in a ponytail. When I'm lazy I wear a hat. Unless you hair looks great unstyled, not being able to put it up in a pony tail is a big bummer.I did not have a boyfriend until I cut my hair. I felt more confident. I've had multiple guys ask me to grow it out-- until I showed them a picture of me with long hair. They immediately changed their mind. My boyfriend says that he can't imagine me with long hair, and to never grow it out. He likes me just how I am, because the way I look makes me happy.Added bonus, it seems like sensitive guys like girls with short hair :) and if there is a huge windstorm on your way into work, you don't hair to worry as much what your hair looks like hahaIf you have the courage....do it. You won't really find out if you have the face for it or not until you try. It will always grow back.

Why do men hate women with short hair?

Not all men hate short hair. Just like how not all women prefer to have long hair.If you look good with a pixie cut and if you want a pixie cut, you get one.A man who judges a woman by her physical appearance simply isn't worth any woman's time. Not all men like long hair, I've known guys who find girls with shorter hair attractive. The articles you listed in the links sound very prejudiced, and the writers do not appear to like the fact that women want to be seen as individuals and be different. It's sexist and blatantly offensive.Think of how boring the world would be if every women had long, flowing locks and if every man had short hair.If you're really hesitant about chopping your hair off, I suggest doing it gradually (long to medium to short to pixie) instead of going straight to the pixie cut. It's more exciting (and terrifying) to chop everything off at once though.Edit to add my comment from below:Any man who does not respect a woman’s bodily autonomy is not worth her time.A relationship goes both ways, and your statement ignores the fact that a woman also does things for someone she loves.Women are not fragile dolls, we are also human beings who get to choose who we are, what we look like and who we become.A relationship is also based on more than just appearance, so if dating a woman with short hair bothers you so much and if a man is too shallow to see her as more than just a pretty doll, then he should do her and get out of her life :)

Do boys like girls with short hair?

It doesn’t matter how long or short your hair is—what guys will find attractive is what you do with your hair (hairstyle) and, more importantly, how you pull it off. Basically, hair length doesn’t matter. Your hair can look good no matter how long or short it is. You just need to learn what styles suit you and your personality and remember: confidence is key.If you like your hair, guys will like it. Confidence is infinitely more attractive than the length of your hair. You want short hair? Go for it. Own it!

What is it like having short hair among indian girls?

This is in response to an A2A request made by Navdeep Pathania.I'm amused that you specifically mentioned "Indian" girls. I think it's the general conception of people that having short hair is to be associated with westernization or modernization. While this may be true to some extent but it's about one's personal choice, really. One of our professors at college once jokingly remarked that how women with short hair are perceived as more independent and stronger than those with long hair. Now, since I wasn't paying much attention in class I don't know whether he said it as a matter of fact or was trying to quote some actual research findings like usual. But some of it did make some sense. So, basically you get judged by the length of your hair. Chances are that people may find you intimidating (think of Indira Gandhi). Although this shouldn't be stereotyped as such but then again, what isn't!

Women: have you ever cut your hair, and then gotten treated differently?

My experience is kinda the opposite...

Throughout my life my hair has always been naturally short. Short and "nappy." Well, once when I was 28, I got a weave...straight and shiny just past my shoulders. Sure I got compliments and looks, but then also I got the comments like "why don't you let your own hair grow out?" Well, it doesn't grow very long or even! I was actually offended by the reactions..it was like why can't the person accept me as I am...not because of the length of my hair? I recently had a similar experience two years ago when I decided to wear a wig to a tea party. A woman there whom I thought was my friend told me how much "prettier" I looked with the wig, and that my face didn't look so "hard". I left the tea party early, went home and cried...she really hurt my feelings with that thoughtless remark... here's the kicker, that woman was no Miss America herself!

Throughout my life, there were people who used to tell me I'd never get a boyfriend because my hair was "too short" and most men want women with long hair...

But guess what? There are plenty of men out there who actually LIKE short hair on women!

My ex husband preferred my hair short and "natural", and for the past 7 years, I've had a sweetie who not only tells me my short hair is beautiful, he actually LIKES to cut and wash and condition my hair when he feels it needs it ... and I let him. He does a pretty good job of it, too, for a white guy...plus I save a lot of money from not going to the salon lol!

Also, when I vacationed in Malibu last year, a gentleman came up to me and whispered in my ear "It is so nice to see a sister who wears her hair so beautiful and natural." Don't know if it was the hair or my confidence, but I got flirted with a lot while there...and I went back on vacation there this year...and it happened again! Imagine that, in MALIBU...the land of the blonde and botoxed ... and I a black, fat, middle aged woman with short hair actually getting masculine attention. LOVED it! I'll vacation there as often as possible from now on hahaha!

So I'm convinced, it's not the length of the hair so much as it is the attitude coming from what's inside of the head. :)

MEN, with long hair, and beard, are repellent;;?

Goatees are sexy, but long hair and a full beard together are pretty repellent. It's so dated. The days of the Allman Brothers have long past. If you are attached to the hair, what if you shave the beard first and see the reaction you get? That's less of a trauma then cutting off the long hair right away. Having either or, is better than both.
