I have to get 3 shots!!!!!!!! I also have to get a physical (whatever that is! it's sounds scary and bad!!!!!) AND my blood drawn from my finger!!!!!!!!!!! OWWWW! I hate shots!!! They hurt sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... BAD!!!!!! Please help me I'm a nervous wreck I can't sleep. My mom said she's taking me this week or so!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Which hurts worse? Getting a shot in the arm or hip/butt area...?
I am getting that Gardasil shot and you have to get three total. I got one and it hurt. They asked me if next would I like to get in in the hip area. I said that I would think about it. Soooo... here I am.
Why do syringes and all things needle-related bother people so much?
Medical needles are rather intrinsically scary because they violate your body integrity. A child has a fear of having its hair cut because it knows the hair is a part of its body and has a fear that taking it away will somehow cause harm. After a few haircuts, a child usually accepts the process and loses its fear, unless the haircut has caused pain. A similar process goes on with needles, except that everyone has at some time experienced pain from a needle. The brain is very good at remembering causes for pain and sets up an avoidance pattern, even for medically necessary needles. In my childhood, needles were substantively thicker than they are now, and I experienced notable pain, hence considerable anxiety on being punctured by another needle. It wasn't until the thinner needles came into use that I could face one without flinching.There is also the desire to avoid blood. The presence of blood is generally an indication of some sort of injury, so children learn early that the sight of blood is not only scary, but often accompanied by pain and further danger. Some people carry that fear in an exaggerated form into adult life. There is a ratonal component to needle and blood squeishnesd, but there is also a major holdover from a child's understanding of how the world works.
Getting wisdom teeth out... really scared of needles?!?
I have to get my wisdom teeth out soon, and I'm really scared! But I'm especially scared to get an IV! I hate needles, I can hardly even stand a flu shot. My doctor always has to give me pretzels and apple juice and I have to lie down for a while after my shot. Lol. Otherwise I feel like I'm going to throw up or pass out. So I REALLY don't want to get an IV. I wanted laughing gas but my surgeon didn't mention that when he talked to me, so I assumed he doesn't do it. How badly does it hurt? And does it hurt afterwards or does it look gross or anything? Thanks in advance! :)
What do shots feel like and how bad do they hurt?
They kind of hurt. Not that much. The thing that hurt isnt the needle. The needles are thin and you can hardly feel them. The thing that hurt is the medicine thats going into you. It stings a little. It probably feels like a mosquito bit you. No, Even less than that. Im getting my middle school shots soon too but i've had shots like, 2 years ago. I'm use to it. I am not good with pain. I will cry when they're rubbing me with the cotton balls. But then in the end, I'm like "Really, I cried over that?" I would rate it a 3 in a half. Its not a 3 but not a 4. Lol. Ask your parents to go get you something afterwards so you'll be thinking of that. I usually get ice cream cause my doctor is across the street from dairy queen. But, For my middle school shots Im getting ice cream AND im going to get a hamster afterwards. Ask for your parents to take you somewhere and buy you something then you'll be thinking "Im getting this after! Whoohooo!" Or, You can bring your IPod/MP3 and listen to music. You'll be jamming out "Your just gonna stand there and watch me burn, But thats alright cause I love the wa-" *Pinch* "Ouch it hurts." "I wanna be an american id-" *Pinch* "Ouch. iot. Don na na na na na" "I put my hands up in the air som-" *Pinch* "Ouch times, Saying ah oh. gotta let go!" Make sure there HAPPY SONGS!!!!!!" Were is the worst place to get a needle shot?
Toe :i had to have a ingrown toenail cut out and they had to numb it first.Made me break out into a sweat.Have a good day.
Where do they give you the gardasil shot?
You get the shot in your upper arm or thigh. There are 3 shots You are not protected until you have all three injections. The first one hurts bad. The last two don't hurt that much. I'm glad you're getting it. It's worth it.
