Should An Underpaid Food Processing Worker Who Is Told They Just Need To Work More Seek Employment

My husband just finished a CRST training school and passed his CDL and endorsement tests?

It ended up that after a bunch of promises they didn't give the "career" that they promised, and we are on the prowl again for another driving job. Are any of you drivers, that could share opinions on companies, Who would you apply with if you were trying to break into the field? Can you please share your experiences?

Why are engineers in India paid a low salary?

Because they are oversupplied. We have 2 lakhs CAs, 10 lakhs doctors. Engineers! They are in crore.Take the case of doctors. US has 25 lakh doctors for just about 32 crore population. India has 10 lakh doctors for 130 crore population. Obviously, doctors are scarce in India. They get better salaries.Compare this with engineers. US produces around 1 lakh engineers per year for a $ 16 Trillion economy. India produces 15 lakhs engineers for a $ 2 Trillion economy. If there are so many engineers, there must be enough demand to pull them in. But it is not there. The earlier mass recruiting sector was manufacturing. It used to recruit from the core branches like civil, electrical and mechanical. But, manufacturing is stagnant at just 17% of the GDP. So the core branch placements have become difficult. The new mass recruiter is the IT sector. It grew from scratch to almost 5% of the GDP in 25 years. Employed millions of engineers. Now, IT is also saturating. If you look at the sectoral composition of Indian economy, most of the sector do not need engineers. Tourism is 10% of the GDP, does not require engineers. Financial sector, trade, hotels and restaurants do not require engineers. Requirement in health, education, agriculture is almost negligible.More than 50% of the GDP has no role for engineers. Still most of us are becoming engineers. The current situation is not sustainable. So the demand is less while the supply is high. Over and above this, skill level of an average engineer is poor. I say its non-existent. Leave the top 100–200 colleges. And you will find that a fresh engineer has no idea of what s/he has studies. Ask a fresh mechanical engineer, can s/he design a simple frame?Today the situation is that most engineers are working in a field that has no connection to what they have studied in the college. This is a waste of resources.Engineering degree does not come cheap. It costs about 10 lakhs. For poor parents, its a huge burden. When their son is not able to secure a job, they are devastated. For the nation, you can calculate the loss. Leave around 1 lakh engineers that NASSCOM says are employable. The rest 14 lakhs have each wasted 10 lakhs of fees. That totals to around $ 20 Billion. Almost equal to the Government’s spending on healthcare. Over this, there is loss of human capital. We need to replan the whole engineering education system. Cut down on the number of colleges and improve the quality in the rest.

Nursing Assistant....Hard work ?

yes! It is hard in every aspect of hard. It is physically, emotionally, mentally, psychologically, and spiritually demanding.

You will care for many residents, people always say really low numbers when you talk to them but not at any nursing home that I have worked at. I've had as many as 40 and as few as 14 that were mine only. many of them may be totally dependent. That means every little thing that you would do for yourself all day--you do for them times the above numbers.
It requires a lot of heavy lifting, many residents are combative so you will have to deal with getting beat, bit, spit on etc...They will call you names...Okay if I write the words someone will report me but they are pretty extreme it is actually kind of funny. But whatever. I miss it. It kept me in good shape physically--when I quit doing it I got kind of chunky. There are times when you will probably grieve. It is sad to watch someone go downhill and it is sad to watch someone die that you have spent 5 days a week w/8 hrs a day for the past few months or years.
I always liked to do the post-mortem care though, it's kind of like the last thing that you can do for them, make them look good for their families. I also like making sure that in their last hours they are still comfortable.

I could tell you some crazy stories.

What is a proper response when I’m talking to a manager about compensation and I’m told I should feel lucky for having a job?

In late 2002 / early 2003, I was working at a job that required long hours and had low pay. In fact, in order the “help” the company avoid bankruptcy, we all had to agree to a pay cut! I had 7 years of progressively more responsible work experience, a graduate degree and spoke 2 languages and yet, I was having a hard time paying my bills. Unfortunately, the U.S. economy at that time was a bit “uncertain” and the job market was not conducive to improving my lot!I went to a head hunter. We had a long meeting where we discussed my qualifications and experience, the types of jobs I’d be interested in, and of course, salary! At the end of the discussion, the head hunter told me that I was probably overpaid at my current salary, even after the pay cut! I was beyond irritated. At that point in my life, I was really doubting myself and my life choices (and frankly, being on a $20 a week food budget was getting old!) so his words cut me to the core.A few months later, I was able, on my own, to get a much better job. I was greatly relieved! After I had been in my new job for a time, I received a call from the head hunter. He had a great opportunity for me. The pay was much higher than I had been making when I initially met with him. I told him that I already found a new job and I contemplated making a snarky comment pointing out that a few months ago, I was “overpaid” but now I was a “good fit” for a job that paid significantly more - I kept my comments to myself.I realized at that moment that the head hunter didn’t have any opportunities for me when I met with him. Instead of just admitting this fact, it was easier for him to make the lack of opportunities my fault. That was eye opening. So, in finally getting to answering the original question, understand that most of the time, when people make comments, their comments are more about THEM than about YOU. Should you feel lucky to have a job? Well, you are trading your time for money. Perhaps the person hiring you should feel lucky that you are willing to trade your time for their money.

What are my chances of getting a fast food job?

Your availability is a good thing. Being out of school will allow you to work more shifts than just dinnertime and longer shifts at that.

The fast food industry is somewhat dependent on young, inexperienced labor. Because they have little to no prior experience (or options, really) young workers are very low-paid. This keeps costs down for the industry. I would guess that about half the staff at the Jack In The Box where I used to work was aged 16-18.

Personally, I would apply to more than just 6 places. Try every single fast food restaurant you can find an app for. As you said, the economy is bad. There are plenty of experienced, unemployed adults willing to accept low pay for a job. They would get priority over a first-timer such as yourself. I recently quit my old job after 8 years for example. It took over 20 applications as 8 interviews to finally get hired somewhere.

Why do people especially us women think everybody regardless of on the job effort should get payed the same ?

Do u think men and women or people with the same job, experience, skill, and degree should be payed the same even if one works harder ? B 4 u get crazy on me, I mean for example I work my *** off at work and the people I work wit are dont work nearly as hard. We both have the same qualifications, should they get paid the same as me? I say no ,but they do and it frustrates me. Why isnt work ethic not in thee equation for wages ? Why do people especially us women think everybody regardless of on the job effort should payed the same ? Why do people think getting a degree should cover up there unwillingness 2 work hard on the job and make what other hard worker in there group are making?
