Should I Be Concerned After A Hard Blow To My Head From A Cabinet Door

Hit head on corner of cabinet?

Yes on the corner and it hit pretty hard, it still hurts. It happened around 6 hours ago. I have not had any unconciousness or vomiting. I do however have a headache right where I bumped it. Will I be okay?

I hit my head hard on a cabinet, going to bed soon?

Sorry I posted this twice, but I really need some help here.

About 4 hours ago I bumped my forehead into the point of a cabinet door. About an hour later I started worrying about it and I think I worried too hard, because my neck started to hurt and I lost my appetite, my abdomin hurt a little too. My head hasn't hurt since when it actually happened, i'm not incredibly dizzy, no headache, and I didn't go unconcious. Will I be fine? I'll be going to bed in about 2 hours. Also the bump is pretty small. Thanks.

I hit my head pretty hard on a kitchen cabinet, what do I do?

So earlier when grabbing something off the ground, I got up and hit my head on a kitchen cabinet. Not the corner or anything like that. I don't feel any different, I'm not bleeding and I didn't black out after getting hit. It does sting/tingle a bit, but I'm feeling normal besides the fact of having a bump on my head. I asked someone who was living with me if it was bleeding or had a blood clot, but they said they've done the same thing before, and there's nothing to worry about.

Should I just keep a heating pad (or an ice pack for that matter), or should I possibly visit my doctor?

Lastly, is it just a minor injury, or is it a concussion? What kind of side effects should I be expecting to have?

Thanks in advance, easy 10 points if your answer becomes useful in the future to me. :)

I hit my head on the edge of a cabinet pretty hard about 12 hours ago, I feel normal, but there's a bump, should I go to the doctor or ER?

It’s like this: If the bang truly jarred your cranium, particularly at the very top center (tpwards the back slightly) of your skull, then you should have it ‘checked out.’ The concern is that you have triggered and internal response which could, over the course of a few hours or more, cause internal hemorrhaging, and expansion within the brain-case (Concussion). The external swelling (bump) doesn’t really indicate much other than location of the blow. Since it’s been 12 plus hours without dizzyness, or numbness of the limbs (caused by an enlarged brain pressing down on the exit of the nerves at the spinal cord emergence), or tiredness, I personally would go with the camp that states to stay the course. Then again: If you are in a country with a uber-zealous medical coverage, then perhaps this is your chance for a brain MRI with contrast. I think having one of those done on general principles is a good idea, along with a Calcium CT of the heart area. (You may need to complain of temporal headache however,’ And KEEP a copy of the data for future reference!!)

Ouch! I just hit my head on a cabinet door and saw a vision of Jesus! Is this a sign?

YES! You also get extra points for an epileptic fit like Paul's.

I hit my head on a cabinet at work...should I report it to HR?

HI there,
Poor you!
Normally if incidents like this happen at work, they need to be reported to your manager, or the person incharge of health and safety in your dept.
Normally, some incidents may seem minor, but so that risk assessments can be done, you need to report it. They will come and assess it to see if it is at a too low level for standard height of people. This will then determine whether it needs to be moved or put higher. Hope this helps..

Can you get a concussion from tapping your head on something hard?

It takes about 60 Gs to cause a concussion. The tapping will traumatize the skin and layers of tissue under the skin on the outside of the skull but not hard the brain. Many people like Darraline have developed anxieties to the risk of these taps. Living with anxiety causes a pollution of the brain with stress chemicals that can be as bad as a mild concussion. Ever since the movie Concussion and the heightened awareness of concussions in sport, people have developed these erroneous and unhealthy fears of any head contact or movement. These taps would have to happen 10 times a day during a short period (football or soccer practice) for 60 days to start to see damage. One would have an instant awareness of a concussion. A moment of visual or cognitive awareness loss or nausea or such for the first 5 to 30 seconds after the impact would indicate a concussion. Anxiety can cause similar symptoms for some but there would be a delay after the impact as the mind kicks into anxiety over-drive.This tap was not a concussion.
