Should I Continue Engineering

Should I continue studying engineering?

This is really only a question you can answer. Obviously, you need the background a rigorous college preparatory program in Secondary School. The area you should pick should hold your interest for a lifetime. As an example, when my monthly issue of Chemical Engineering magazine arrives I usually drop everything and read it cover to cover. Yes, the more in-depth technical articles require more careful study later, perhaps with reference books open on the subject to follow the new thought of a solution offered to an old problem. I’ve been retired for 25 years but the subject still holds my interest. If you have the interest level high in the discipline you are considering then it is probably a positive sign this is the field for you.

Should I continue in engineering, or follow my dream?

Love the quote ' Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. Somehow they already know what you truly want to become'.If you are really passionate about your dream then go for it. If you think about it all the time, go for it. There will be lot of factors which will stop you from chasing your dreams, but make sure they are worthy enough if you are choosing them above your dreams. If you have a dream which can be pursued along with your engineering then complete your degree and keep working for your passion. But if your passion demands 24*7 of your attention, then reconsider.Your dream should be able to give you the following things :Enthusiasm on waking up every morningGood vibesSalary can be any number but you should feel satisfied in whatever you are doing.ConfidenceDon't be scared of unnecessary questionnaires which will follow. Everything needs time to get settled down and so will your dream. Just be brave enough to keep following your heart .P.S - Don't follow the crowd. Be an exception. :)

Should I continue engineering after a 3-year drop, having a complete degree of 7 years?

You should surely do that if you are interested in finishing your degree and you think you can give it your 100%.i know a lot of people who have done that and they are surely happy they went back to school to get the degree they started. Some of them also got promotions in the current job they were doing after they we done with their degree.Going back to school and getting new skills is never a bad idea. The only problem is that many people think it was a bad idea after they start & they leave it again. If you have the motivation and determination to finish once you start you should defiantly go ahead & finish it.Remember once you start working for a company & once you are in all that matters are your skills and your zest for working. Most of the people in the company will not even know that you finished your degree in 7 years. If you are good at what you do any company will feel good about hiring you.

Should I continue engineering or go through the path of medicine? The details are on the photos attached. What should I do?

I think people's passions may change with time, especially when we are young. Engineering is a good subject to major in if you want to go to medical school - if - you also do well in all of the pre-med requirements. If you change to a "pre-med" curriculum, you will be competing with a whole lot of students who also majored in "pre-med". It will be harder to stand out to the admissions committee. Another advantage of getting an engineering degree is that if you don't get into medical school, you can always get a job as an engineer.I got a BS in Engineering Physics and managed to squeeze in the pre-med requirements during Summers and intersession classes. I stood out to the admissions committee because I had a good GPA in Engineering - which is much more impressive than having a good GPA in “pre-med”. There were a dozen engineers in my medical school class. We ended up specializing in Internal medicine, surgery, psychiatry, family medicine, pathology and Radiation Oncology (me). Besides Engineering, people in my class majored in a whole lot of different things. I think Medical School admission committees are interested in diversity - not just degrees like biology, genetics, biochemistry, or other “life science” subjects. Then again, you need to do something that you will like doing every day. We spend more time working than we do anything else in our lives - so if you’ve lost your passion for engineering, don’t spend your time being unhappy - it’s not worth it. (At least in the US, where we have so many choices. We all have to support ourselves and in many parts of the world, people are just grateful to have a job - whether they are excited about it or not. Being able to support one’s self and one’s family is the first priority.)I guess the short answer is that I can’t tell you what would be best for you. I will say that pleasing one’s parents isn’t the best reason to choose your major. Parents should adapt to their kid’s life choices - not the other way around. I’ve raised five kids, none of whom followed the path I would have chosen for them - but - they are all happy - and have a good relationship with my their mom (my wife) and me - and I couldn’t ask for any better outcome. I’ve learned that life doesn’t have to go like I’ve planned - it can go a whole lot better.See - Gary Larson's answer to My 15-year-old son wants to become a programmer instead of a doctor. What should I do to change his mind?

Should I continue engineering or continue on a different path?

Take a deep breath.Take a step back and look at the big picture.Get some sleep, get some exercise, eat right.Ok… now let's think about the issue. If you are seriously interested in the degree, push through it. The primary factor in success in life is perserverance. However, be honest with yourself and if you feel this career path is not for you and there is something else that is calling to you, analyze what that might be and what is required to be successful in that path. Then share this thought with the people whom you love and trust and get their feedback. Now, after you do that… seek objective guidance:Talk to your academic advisor and ask them if there are statistics regarding people who complete their degree but also get a “C” in those classes you are having difficulty with.Talk with a psychologist about any emotional block you might have like anxiety or stress etc… and ask for feedback on how to effectively approach this hurdle (event, thought, feeling, action)Now, on the school front, when u compare and contrast yourself to your peers…A small population Understand the material and do well on tests… (++)While others Test well but don't retain what they learn and do poorly on mid terms and finals (+-)Still others don't test well but have an understanding of the course work. (+)Some people don't test well and don't understand the course material because they don't get it… (- -)there is a different approach for each issue, if you have the latter issue and are not interested in learning why because you lack sufficient motivation and If the thought of doing this causes anxiety, then think about the underlying factors and if you need help, talk with a psychologist to see what emotional factors might be impacting your block. Finally, if you feel you are just not capable in learning the course material no matter how hard you try, but are still interested in an engineering career, then re assess which alternate path in engineering you might want to take with an academic advisor or guidance counselor.Remember Step one? Take care of yourself.Between now and thinking about all this, know you will persevere on whatever path you choose that is the right path for you. (Also, if you haven't done so already, join a study group and don't try to do this on your own).

Should I continue engineering or become an entrepreneur?

May I ask you the reason for losing interest in the most fascinating subject of the world? You have not even learnt the half of it. And it is too early in your career to decide what you want to become. Engineering can make you fall in love with science. Entrepreneurship may seem easy, but you have to face a lot of hardships. So, better cool down and think calmly what you really want. If still your heart says entrepreneurship, then go for it. Good luck :)

Shall i continue my passion for music along with my engineering studies?

If you are really passionate about music then it should give you happiness/ satisfaction/ peace during turmoil or some other positive energy. Why would you stop it?Of course, there will be a conflict if you decide to become better at music and reduce your study time for engineering. This balance is something that you will have to come up with. What is the acceptable percentage in engineering for you? Study enough to ensure that and the remaining time can be for music. My bias is towards engineering purely because that is the structured course that you are pursuing so you will have to stick to those timelines like project submission, internal tests, semester exams. Music like water will fill up the space in between these deadlines.

What are the pros and cons of human genetic engineering? ?

Pros: perfect people, beautiful, intelligent, no diseases or ailments even in old age.

Cons: homogeneous culture, everyone is as beautiful, as intelligent, with no diseases or disfigurements. as everyone else.

Ethically human genetic engineering is very risky and I think outlawed in many countries.
