Should I Continue This Story Opinions As Well

Kindergarten question/opinions.?

My daughter has a late birthday so she just missed the Kindergarten cut off last year. She will be 6 at the end of the month. We just moved to a new school district this summer and when I looked into testing her to skip Kindergarten, we had already missed the cutoff. This testing is the only way they will advance kids into a higher grade, with the exception of a teacher recommending it-which doesn't get looked at until the following year.

I am by no means saying my daughter is a genius, but based upon the curriculum that our kindergarten teaches, she knows most if not all of it. They expect kids to learn letters, letter sounds, and numbers up to 100 and be reading by the end of the year. She already reads quite well, can do math problems-even some multiplication etc. Today at our "connections" meeting I asked the teacher how she planned to make sure that she was being taught/advancing and not being bored while she is teaching kids the letters and numbers. I suggested maybe she could sit in with 1st grade during those times and that was an immediate no. She said that my daughter could read by herself while she was teaching the others.

I don't feel that my daughter reading by herself will help her to advance in any way. I will still continue to work with her at home, but I think that cutting a kid off because of a birthday and not letting them learn at their level is ridiculous.

If this was your kid, what would you do? I am thinking of making an appt. with the principal.

Opinions on my writing please?

I would like some feedback on a random paragraph I wrote when I was feeling inspired but didn't want to continue a full story. I would love to improve my writing so feedback is appreciated. I wanted to put 2 here but the word limit didn't allow it

The slavering jaws of the cruel beast hung open, drooling globules of saliva over the mangled and bloody corpse of my best friend. I froze in shock, unknowing of what to do, I fled, arousing the instincts of the monster, it broke into a smooth gallop, with its paws thudding rhythmically on the dirt, easily making ground and catching up to me. My chest heaved with the effort of the run. I urged my tired body to move quicker but my time was over, the creature had already pounced. The world swirled around me in a daze and my body hit the ground with a crash. I struggled to breath as the heavy paws of the monster pressed against my spine, I screeched and thrashed but it was no use, my vision went dark as I felt the jaws of this horrible creature tear into my neck as I was eaten alive. I screamed and cried with no hope, willing for death to come and end this carnage. I fainted and never awoke to see the shining sun overhead ever again, all that was left was bones and blood on the ground.

Fate vs Free Will? Opinions?

I believe is the most dominant question of our age. Fate vs Free Will. How could there be free will, what if it was all meant to be? Couldn't that be considered 'fate' ? Or what if we truly do make our own decisions and it is free will that dominates our everyday lives. What do you think?

How do you respond to "well that's your opinion"?

That kind of depends on the circumstances, and the way in which the statement is made.Case 1: A professional situation - say a meeting on what approach to take on a project, or on a decision to be made - in which you’re a key person in making the decision, and/or will be seriously impacted by the decision. If the comment is made dismissively - as in “you don’t know what you’re talking about, this is how we’re really going to do it” - then you push back, with facts (assuming you have them), or at least with “it’s my professional opinion.” If the person is dismissive to the point of being insulting, then you might push back harder (I’ve been known to tell people where to go in such situations - sometimes a wise move, sometimes not, depending on who’s in the room and the politics involved.)Now, if you’re over-ruled - by someone senior to you, by majority opinion, you might want to make a strong statement about “I want to be on the record that I disagree.” (As in “I’ll do my part, but for the record, there’s no way in hell that we can meet this artificial deadline.”)Case 2: A personal discussion about something that doesn’t matter - say a political or religious conversation, in a bar or social situation - then it’s up to you about whether to push back, or let things slide. It kind of depends on how much you value the relationship (do you tell mother-in-law that she’s a moron, or do you nod politely?), or how much you’re willing to deal with a violent outcome (do you tell the drunk in a bar that he’s an asshole, or do you let it slide?).

I'm 14 and not a virgin. What's your opinion? ?

I think your being real!
He is a lucky guy having sex with you. Seems the girls are putting out at a younger and younger age all the time. I am not condeming you. Just commenting.

Hopefully the sex is great! Just make sure your getting pleasure out of it also. If he is just coming and leaving then you have some work to do. A good guy would make sure he brought you to a climax before he drops his rocks.

Happy O's

Why do writers use facts and opinions?

Well, if they use them, it looks as if they were clever, don't you think? =)

Anyway, I guess there are many people who like supernatural tales and the like - they are good for relaxing. But if they wanted to enjoy good reading, they would choose some more serious genre - and well, writers can't really unleash their imagination there (mostly).

Many people are interested in many things, but to learn more about them, they need some serious literature, which is kind of based on the facts and the opinions.

By the way, if we are talking here about popular literature, I guess that it "just" makes the stories more believable. All of that make the matter more personal, so you are more influenced by it eventually. Personal opinions are more valuable, since they reflect the thinking of people in different points of view (in different situations) or historical periods.

And that's one of the points of writing, right? To hand over the facts and opinions, which allow you to make your own opinion or to continue in researching...
