Do black guys look better with their haircut?
I am a Black American male. I believe that we look good with any type of hairstyle. It doesn’t necessarily need to be a haircut or have the hair cut very short.Tonight, I went to an NBA basketball game and saw so many different Black men with very creative hairstyles. To me, the creativity and uniqueness of Black men is expressed through our hair.In the past, I have worked in the mostly white corporate world. That creativity and uniqueness isn’t always tolerated, enjoyed, or understood. I’ve had jobs where I was expected to only keep my hair short.I remember company policy stating that they didn’t allow hairstyles usually only worn by Black American people. But they never mentioned race or ethnicity in the employee guide book. It was heavily implied.I have posted some pictures below so that you can see the different types of Black hairstyles currently in vogue. You will clearly see that Black men look good whether or not our hair is cut.The hairstyle on the top left is really popular among young Black guys. The top is allowed to be curly and dreaded while the bottom half is kept cut.Everything from faded hair styles to fro hawks.Dreads.More examples of dreads. But the hair is also cut on the sides and bottoms.This is called a wave. The hair doesn’t naturally do this. What is a guy’s genuine opinion of a girl with short hair?
For me, some look good in short hair, while some would look down right ugly(can't be uglier than me I suppose). For some reason, all the women with short hair that I know are mothers.Some of the girls with short hair that I know are fairly attractive, I thought one or two looked kinda cute or beautiful. But there's always a handful of them that I don't even wanna see because short hair just doesn't fit them and they look ugly with it. (talking about down to the shoulder short hair}When it comes down to very short hair like a boys “bald” cut, I think they look kinda freaky and don't wanna associate with any of them. When it is slightly past the shoulders, I find that some of them look incredibly adorable, epically the ones with a ponytail. (not a child molester nor a creep, I'm only in high-school T_T)
Do girls look good with really short hair?
I believe only certain types of women can pull them off,I have always thought women who have a thinner build and a long neck can pull them off,but I have seen all types of women pull it off,I believe if you are beautiful inside,it reflects to the world no matter how short your hair is,and I am a woman,and I also see so many women that have short hair and add cool colors to even enhance the style,I just cut my hair two days ago into a long bob,cut off about four and five inches,I'm still getting used to it and learn how to work with it,but it feels great especially at the nape of my neck,but like I've said,when you are just a fabulous person you could be bald,I've met what society considers beautiful until they open their mouth and how they treat people,that can take a woman or a man from a ten to a three JMO ,so don't be afraid and remember,hair grows back,good luck or if someone is just asking about women with short or long hair,I stated my opinion in the post,Maria v
Shorter hair or nah????*?
The first picture is my hair now. I'm thinking about cutting my hair shorter for a change maybe just lower than my shoulders. i'm 5'3 and look really young for my age, would i look older with shorter hair? opinions on what i should do? Should I cut my hair short or keep it long?
Cant decide if I should cut my hair short probably a buzz cut or keep it long. Give me your opinions and help me decide. My mom gave me the choice of keeping my hair long or cutting it short (pixie cut), but I can't decide on either since I really like pixie haircuts but I also don't want to look "manly". What should I do?
In my opinion, pixie cuts are not at all manly. They may be read as more “edgy”, but have you ever seen a trans man end up with a pixie cut when he wanted a masculine haircut? Pixie cuts are not remotely masculine. They are short, but in my experience, look incredibly feminine. It will depend on your age and face shape and such, but if you’ve got a good hair stylist, they may be able to give you an opinion on if a pixie cut would suit you. (Keep in mind though, that an overwhelming number of older female hair stylists have huge issues with girls getting short hair cuts, if it’s what you want, don’t let them talk you out of it! Plenty of very supportive hair stylists out there as well though.) If you really like pixie cuts, why not go for it. Hair grows out, and if you aren’t as big a fan of pixie cuts when they’re actually on your head, that’s alright! I know there are at least a couple answers to this saying that “women look better with long hair” and stuff along those lines, I say bullshit, do what makes you happy. If that’s trying something new, good for you, and if you want to stick with long hair for now, that works too. Also, back to your concern about looking “manly” with a pixie cut. As I’ve said before, pixie cuts are not at all masculine, but even short haircuts that are often though of as masculine (such as a buzz cut) can end up being read as female very easily. It depends a lot on your face shape and facial features for some haircuts, but honestly I think you will not have any problems with being read and manly with a pixie cut, regardless of what you look like under the haircut.
Should people with big heads get short hair cuts?
No not really because short hair frames your face and depending on your cut can give yur hair more body making your head appear bigger. When cutting your hair short you also have to take into account your body and face shape. If your slightly on the larger side then you should stick to longer hair to balance out your body ...it helps to blend the head and neck into the body instead of cutting it off. And some face shapes just don't suit short hair! :-)
