Should I Get My Ears Pierced I

Should I get my ears pierced?

Any piercing you get is going to hurt no matter where you get pierced! The pain level is different from person to person so I can't tell you the exact pain. Make sure you go to a professional to get any piercing including your ears! They use piercing needles which hurt more and are a bit more expensive, but it's well worth it. The needles are very sanitary and the jewelry used is very high quality grade.

Here is a quiz that can help you decide what piercing to get:

People will tell you that its ok to get piercings at Claire's, Icing, Piercing Pagoda. But DO NOT go to ANY of these places because they use piercing gun which is very unsanitary. Claire's and Piercing Pagoda have very poorly trained employees. The only training that they get prior to piercing people's ears is piercing a stuffed bear's ears. Yes, you read that correctly. The problem with the gun is that it forces a blunt object through the ear. With a needle, it easily passes through, allowing for a lower pain level, quicker and cleaner healing, and very much reduced rick of cartilage shattering.

Piercing guns CAN NOT be sterilized (alcohol swabs can't clean 100%) properly and harbors blood born pathogens, leftover tissue and transmitted diseases (like aids or hiv). This is even worse if you get your cartilage pierced with a gun because it can shatter the cartilage and severely damage it. Piercing guns don't give a clean piercing and infection is higher and it NEVER heals properly!

Here is information to back up why piercing guns are bad:

Should I get my ears pierced at Wal Mart?

If you go there and the piercing area and equipment is clean and you ask the lady how much experience she has had and it's adequate, then yes. But if you have any feeling of doubt, don't. It costs less to go to a professional piercing shop than it does to pay for the meds to clean out a nasty infection you can get from bad piercings. Plus, bad ones hurt! Good luck!

Good reasons to get my ears pierced?

Okay so my mom said I couldn't get my ears pierced until I'm 16 (I'm 13 now) but I've been asking her and she said maybe if I can think of good, legit, reasonable reasons. Please help me!!! I need at least five great reasons to get my ears pierced! Thank you everyone who answers!!!

Should I get my right ear pierced or both ears pierced?

Both is the best. To me, just one side pierced looks like a poser. Both is committed. Seriously, if you are worried about looking "gay", you probably aren't self-confident enough to pierce your ears. Boys who do are, in a way, saying "hey, look at me." which I personally think is sexy, but some other boys will probably call you gay.

Should i get my ears pierced at walmart or claires?

Gun piercings are never safe. I'll put it to you like this - I watched a video the other night of a guy getting his ears pierced at Claire's. In this short amount of time I saw so many things wrong with the scenario. I'll just run through a few things I noticed:

1. The girl put on gloves, but then touched pens to fill out a form, lids to canisters holding cotton balls, the gun was just sitting on this tiny little counter and then she never changed gloves again. Let's say someone with, oh, tuberculosis came into the store. They let a mighty infectious droplet laden cough go all over the piercing area. That girl would have those germs on her gloves from touching everything and then doing the piercing.

2. The guy was mashed right up against the edge of the entrance. So not only was he sitting in the main window looking like some puppy on display in front of a pet shop, anyone could have walked through the door and bumped into him while the piercing was being done.

3. She used a pen to mark his lobes from a little cup that was sitting out in the open on the stand. I'm assuming that same pen had been used on countless other clients before him.

4. I never saw her give the gun a wipe down before piercing him (although that still isn't effective against blood borne pathogens such as HIV, Hepatitis as well as staph infection).

5. She told the guy when he asked her which ear he should get pierced that she was obligated as a Claire's employee to inform him that piercing the right ear signifies that you are gay. That's such a crock of crap. Is Claire's stuck in the early 1980's?

I'm sure there was some other stuff going on in the video that would prove that getting your ears gun pierced by some mindless idiot anywhere is a bad idea. At least you know the people at tattoo and body piercing establishments were actually trained for a year or more on how to safely pierce.

Can I get my ears pierced in the same spot if they’ve already been pierced there?

Yes you can. This depends on how well healed the previous piercing is. I have re-pierced several old piercings that I retired then changed my mind about. The second time around,it hurt more as it had to go through existing scar tissue. This is why it s so important to go to a good piercer who is able to assess your piercing site and re-pierce it without any issues. I have redone a few piercings (including the septum) by myself ,yes , but I would not recommend this and best is to get pro advice in this case.
