When you say PayPal I assume you mean PayPal standard. PayPal also has Website Payments Pro (and some other newer options) that includes a direct payment method. On your storefront it appears as if you accept PayPal and credit card, but you are still only using your PayPal account. I hope that makes sense. The only other thing I will note is that the advantage of PayPal standard and Express Checkout is reduced PCI compliance concerns. When you look at other options keep in mind that if your server handles the credit card you become a payment application and increase your liability. This allows for problems to be worked out during the build without affecting any of your users. At the end, your programmer should be able to tell you how to take his/her code and put it on your live site so that he/she never has to have your login credentials for your domain.

You can point your custom name to the Adobe Portfolio website and just manually upload your portfolio images and content to the Adobe site. After you've done that you can delete your WordPress website.
