Should I Go Without My Brace Or Should I Continue Towl Wear It

How long can you go without a retainer before your teeth noticeably shift?

If your braces have been off for 2½ years, I can't imagine there would be any significant shifting.
Try the retainer in as soon as you can, and if it doesn't feel like it previously did, you should call your orthodontist and have it looked at.

Do I continue wearing my rubber bands if I broke a bracket?

I broke a bracket, and on that side of my mouth I can only wear part of the rubber band. (I'm doing the formation wearing it weaves over and under the brackets and litterally pulls your mouth shut). Since it's in the middle, the weaving isn't as tight because the rubber bands are so big.
So, should I wear my rubber bands on the unbroken bracket side or will that cause things to get uneven? Should I still weave the rubber bands around the brackets left?
I'd like to take whatever course that will prolong my treatment the least

If I got my braces off six months ago and only wear my retainer at night now (for the past two months its only been at night), do I need do go back to my orthodontist?

I would say no but if you are having concerns about shifting or retainers are not fitting correctly I would say make an appointment to get an adjustment done if you have the traditional retainers with the wires. If they are the clear ones id say continue wearing them as you have been at night

Should I continue going to gym while wearing braces? I just got braces 2 weeks ago. Will my treatment get effected if I join gym and start doing exercises and lifting weights?

You should consult your doctor as to which movements you are able to perform.A doctor will advise you to do very little, but doctors are cautious. If you have a physical therapist ask them what exactly you can perform.Look online at success stories with people with your particular condition. They will surely help as well.

What happens if you don't wear your scoliosis brace?

hey, i'm 13 too n i'm wearing a back brace at this very moment.
i no, i no, it's annoying n irritating n itchy n everything but think of it this way: would u rather hav metal bars put into yur bak to hold yur spine together?
every 5 min u don't wear yur brace, u lose 1 degree that u've worked hard to get bak to normal. so DON'T EVEN CONSIDER IT!
n yur scolly's more severe than mine, i had a 25 degree curve to start with n i only hav 20.
remember, the more consistently u wear it, the quicker u get it off!
good luck to u (n me too lol) n just don't be dumb n WEAR YUR BRACE!
Luv Ti!
P.S. lucky u! i hav to wear mine 23 hrs a day n i actually pretty much do the whole 24! n i'm real busy with dancing n swimming too! do u do swimming for yur back?

How long can someone go without their retainer after recently getting their braces off? My son left for a 2 day trip and forgot his.

It takes many weeks and months for a person’s teeth to shift. Much like it takes months or even years to complete orthodontic treatment, it will also take a while for teeth to move back.Your son’s teeth won’t have shifted back in the course of only two days, but ensure that this doesn’t become a habit because two days here and two days there will eventually amount to a lot of time! Also remember that it’s a legitimate possibility that all the teeth will shift back even if your son wore his retainers for the entire prescribed amount of time.

How long can you go without wearing a retainer without major teeth shifting?

The length of time you can go without a retainer depends on how long your appliances have been off. The further away from the the removal of the appliances, the longer you could be without the appliances. It also depends on the stability of the the treatment. Marginally stable cases will collapse quicker than those that are very stable. The collapse of a case has to do with something called “elastic memory” of the tissues. That means that there are fibers holding the tooth in placed that have been stretched and will pull the tooth back toward it’s original position. The purpose of the retainer is to hold the teeth in the desired position while the fibers realign. No one really knows how much elastic memory is in any given tooth. The point of the retainer is to wear it, not to leave it out. It could take a very minor amount of collapse to make a retainer unusable. By the time you can get in to have another one made, you could have an unacceptable amount of movement.

How long after getting braces off is it okay to stop wearing a retainer?

Whereas general advice used to be to wear orthodontic retainers for around 6 months full time and 6 months night time only, this has been superseded. Nowadays advice tends to be to wear your removable retainers during the night for as long as you want your teeth to remain in their corrected positions. In addition to removable retainers, fixed retainers are also recommended to augment retention and help prevent relapse in the event that the removable retainer ceases to be effective or needs to be replaced due to wear or damage etc.Occasionally teeth are stable after temporary retention but it’s not possible to reliably predict which occlusions will be stable and which will relapse so the safest option is permanent retention.Speak to your orthodontist for their advice on your individual situation.
