Should I Quit My High School Job

Should I quit my high school job?

So I recently got a job (first job) at a local restaurant being a busser about 3 weeks ago. The pay is good, I like most of my coworkers, but I have a couple problems.

One, and my biggest problem are the hours. They give me stupid amounts of hours even though I'm a full time student in high school. For the next ten days I'm going to be working 8 shifts. 6 of which are on school days which start at 4 o'clock. And every time I go for the 4 o'clock shifts I don't get home until midnight and I have to get up at 6 in the morning for school. So I am extremely tired at school and then I have to do it all over again the same day.

Two, the drive. I live about 20 minutes away from the place but the only way to get to it is over a main bridge to a popular island which always has traffic so that 20 minute drive turns into a 30 minute or 40 minute sometimes even an hour drive.

Three, I'm always so tired. I can barely move after my 7 hour shifts because of all the grunt work that I do. And the thing is, I'm usually the one who does all of it. Granted like two or three other guys do it with me but usually I get stuck with it. I know I sound pretty wimpy because of a tiny 7 hour work shift but it's really dreading when you have a 6 hour school day and then a 6 to 7 hour workday upon that.

The only reason why I'm even keeping it is because the paycheck pays for my hobby.

Sorry for the long question but I am in need of advice. Thank you.

How to quit a job (first job in highschool))?

So i've been working at an ice cream shop for the past month. I took it up just so I can get an mp3. I've worked, though still in training, i've got the money, and i've bought it. I want to quit and I really don't like working there.
So, my trouble is this:
I really don't want to talk to him in person or call, but my friends said I should, though i'd rather just text or email him. Is the latter okay?
Also, do you think i'm making a big mistake? So early, and i'm just quitting. At first I liked making the cones, but later, i'd just get so nervous.
Do you think me quitting is a big mistake, something i'd regret in the future? Would colleges not like it if I quit early?
Please explain :) Thank you!

How long should you work a job before quitting (I'm a high school teenager and my boss is very demanding and expects a lot out of his employers)?

Well, EVERY boss expects a lot out of his employees. So get used to it. Persevere and try to last as long as you can. When the environment gets abusive, that is when you should quit. Are other workers feeling the same pressure? Are they thinking about quitting? If not, then you just have to get used to it. Before you quit, though, you may want to have a professional conversation with your boss. What you will find is that there is a supply and demand in action in the workforce. Your boss can behave that way, because when you quit, there are ample replacements who will gladly take your job, because the supply (job) exceeds the demand (people who want the job).So after you graduate, go to college or trade school and develop competencies and skills that will make you a valued employee. Not doing anything will keep you doing the same type of jobs forever. When I was in my early teens, my parents dragged me to their dry cleaner they owned, and worked me like a dog. When I turned 16, I started to work for a local grocery store. I found out that my parents were actually easy on me. That is when I decided to go to college.

Should I quit my job because of highschool school?

It sounds like you've over scheduled yourself. Life is about balance & before you crash & burn too young, you need to take a moment & prioritize all of your extra curriculars (including the job) that are in your schedule.

if you don't need the money then quit the job to focus on school & your clubs & sports.

if you do need the money then keep the job & re-evaluate your clubs & sports & cut back on the ones you don't really need or don't really care for or that require too much of your time.

your main job right now is to be a student & focus on your school work--anything that interferes w/ that (clubs, sports, jobs) has to go. Figure out what is most important to you in the clubs/ sports/ jobs area & let go of anything that is unnecessary at this point in time.

Should I quit my job (high-school student)?

Ive been working at a department store for over two months now and my grades seem to be getting worse. Retail is weird because there are moments where I m doing NOTHING, yet at other times it feels so stressful that I could break down any moment. I don t get very much sleep, but I also don t do many extracurricular activities beside gardening occasionally and managing a human relations club.

I would much rather work somewhere else, although the bosses are kind and the job is fairly easy. Most of my hours are Wednesdays and the weekends, which are all days I hang out wit friends. I don t need the money, but my parents wanted me to have the experience. Should I quit? Is two months not long enough? Thank you!!!
