I am 17 and got a speeding ticket, how should I tell my parents?

This is sneaky but.. make sure nothing is coming up on your calender cause then they will say no you cant go... No just come forward and say it because you will get a letter from the state saying heres a ticket that you have to pay... so they will find out one way or another.. Just be responsible your 17 here is one way to tell your parents.. that is if you come out with it just say.... Hey mom and dad sit down we need to talk because I messed up bad.. and they will listen.. next you say I know having a car is a big responisibility... well I got a speeding ticket and you know I feel like I did something really bad.. you know what it was really hard to tell you guys that I got a speeding ticket... cause I know you would get mad.. but Im gona be responsible and take account of my mistake and do whatever it takes to pay off this speeding ticket...

sooo they cant be mad at you for learning and growing....
but one thing you have to get out of your head is how can I get out of it.. because your not.. even if you do have the money to pay it off right then and there your insurance goes up..
Hope this helped

I got a speeding ticket, should I tell my parents?

First of all, you should not pay the ticket. Go to court. Wear your best clothing (think church with Grandma and Great Aunt Ethel, not clubs with friends) If the officer does not show up, you will be found not guilty. If they do, you can still ask for a probation before judgment, meaning you would usually pay the fine, but not have the ticket shown as a conviction on your record.

If you are on your parent's policy, tell them. If you have your own policy, and do not rely on them for any support, then you would have no need to tell your parents.

Will my parents find out I got a ticket?

If your on their car insurance, you bet they will, because when you get a ticket, that stuff goes up. Best advice I can give you is take a Driver's improvement course. You can go to a class or take one online. This will prevent points from being deducted from your license, and prevent your insurance from going up. When you complete that course you will get a certificate you bring that down to a court house when you go to pay your ticket. Better safe, then sorry.

Edit: The ticket usually has a call number on it. Most tickets you can pay online, by phone(providing a debt or credit card), by mail, using a cashier's check, or your very own check, or by heading down to a court house.

Tip as well: I would be a little more safer now when driving, economy still sucks, so a lot of the Government agencies are struggling. So tickets have gone up in price in order to prevent letting go officers on the force. At least this is how it is for me in Florida. So I see a lot more cops around now. And I mean a lot more.

How to tell my parents i got a speeding ticket?

just tell it like it is. tell them when things are cool in your house, no arguments, no disputes, that way, it will be easier for them to comprehend you and they probably wont be too hard on you. also tell them you feel sorry about it and you'll be careful not to exceed the speed limit next time you're at the wheel, and that you'll pay the ticket yourself.

I just got a speeding ticket how do i tell my parents?

I've been in this situation. Honestly, the best way to handle it is to just tell them immediately that it happened (so they can't be mad at you for trying to hide it,) and just admit that you screwed up (since making excuses shows you are trying to avoid responsibility.)

Sure, they will still get mad at you, but if you just immediately admit that you screwed up and ask for them to help you get through it, they will be there to support you, even if they also punish you some.

How should i tell my parents that i got a speeding ticket when i just got one a month b4 this one?

Tell them. It will show them that you are striving to be obedient.

Did you tell your parents when you got a speeding ticket as a kid?

Only once. I got a ticket in another county for going 86/60 and because I was more than 15 mph over the limit, it came with an automatic license suspension. I was going to need a ride home from court.I couldn’t come up with a reasonable excuse for my brother and I to need one of the family cars on a weekday like that so I had to own up to it.My father said, “Gee, I had no idea my car would go so fast.”“Oh, hell, Dad”, I said, “It’ll go a lot faster than that.”I won’t get into the details but I decided honesty wasn’t always the best policy at that moment.

Will my parents find out about my speeding ticket if I pay for the insurance and go to traffic school to get the points off? I’m 18.

It depends. If they normally get the mail, they'll see it when it's mailed. Even if they don't open it, it will be addressed to you with the court's return address..My suggestion? You're 18. You're an adult. Act like one and take responsibility. Tell them what happened. Explain that you got pulled over, that you'll pay the ticket, and that you'll go to traffic school so it won't raise your insurance premiums. Tell them that you learned your lesson and it's not worth speeding. They should understand and should appreciate your honesty and responsibility. Even if they are upset, imagine how they would feel if they found out you've been hiding it from them?

How do I tell my parents I'm going on a trip? I bought tickets to come home but due to timing in buying them, I am missing my mom's birthday. After, My bf bought tickets for Vegas for the weekend before I go. I feel bad, but it was not intentional.

If I misunderstand your explanation, I am sorry, but I’m reading the best I can.You put off buying tickets home, until you could not get them for the time you wanted. Your mom will miss you at her birthday. Then apparently, your bf bought tickets for a trip that interferes with your visit home. You are putting things off and not communicating with your bf. You prefer your trip with your bf to the trip home.Call your parents and tell them you don’t have time to think about them, and frankly you have better things to do with your bf. That would be the truth. Or you can tell your parents you are having brain surgery.

I got pulled over, should I tell my parents>?

I'm 17. My parents always said if I got a ticket I'd have to take care of it. I only got a warning, but since I live in a pretty small town they're probably going to find out sooner or later. Almost half of my friends asked me about it at school today. I just don't see any good in getting lectured to by them after getting a talking to by the cop.
